Panthers Take Grigori Denisenko With First Round Pick
6 years agoWith the 15th overall pick, the Florida Panthers took the speedy, undersized winger Grigori Denisenko. The young Russian scored nine goals and 22 points in 31 games in the MHL (the Russian junior hockey league) and is expected to move up into the KHL for the 2018-19 season. Despite not filling up the stat sheet, Denisenko is considered a gifted playmaker with great hands and fairly physical presence to his game despite his smaller stature. Consider his to potential to be somewhere between an Artemi Panarin and an Alex Semin.
