Panthers Sign Pharoh Cooper
5 years agoThe Carolina Panthers signed wide receiver Pharoh Cooper to an undisclosed one-year deal on Friday. Cooper was a fourth-round pick of the Rams in 2016 and earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors in 2017 as a returner with 932 yards and a touchdown on 34 kickoffs, as well as 399 yards on 32 punt returns. Last year with the Cardinals he caught a career-high 25 passes for 234 yards and his first NFL touchdown in 12 games played as receiver depth. He'll function as receiver depth in Carolina, too, and at the very least will fill a need as a return specialist. Unless injuries open up consistent targets in the passing game for Cooper, he can probably be avoided in most fantasy leagues that don't count return yardage.
