Panthers Sign C.J. Anderson
7 years agoThe Carolina Panthers signed free-agent running back C.J. Anderson to a one-year deal on Monday. Anderson fills a needed gap in the running game after veteran Jonathan Stewart left in free agency, and Anderson figures to serve as the primary backup to sophomore Christian McCaffrey, although Anderson could lead this backfield in carries with McCaffrey serving in more of a passing-down role. Anderson posted his first career 1,000-yard season with Denver in 2017 and could have RB3/flex value as Carolina's early-down back. His signing hurts Cameron Artis-Payne the most.
