Panthers Pick Up D.J. Moore's Fifth-Year Option
4 years agoThe Carolina Panthers exercised the fifth-year option for the 2022 season on the contract of wide receiver D.J. Moore on Thursday. This doesn't come as a surprise. Moore just recently turned 24 years old and has put up back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for the team in just his third year in the NFL. Last season, Moore had 66 receptions (118 targets) for a career-high 1,193 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games (14 starts). Fantasy managers would like to see him find paydirt more often -- just 10 touchdowns in three seasons -- but they can't complain with his production otherwise. Moore will be working with quarterback Sam Darnold for at least the next season, and while that may not sound like a huge upgrade over Teddy Bridgewater, he should still be a high-upside fantasy wideout in 2021.
