Panthers Haven't Told Bryce Young He's Their Pick
2 years agoCarolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer said the team hasn't told University of Alabama quarterback Bryce Young that he's their selection with the first overall pick in this year's draft. Fitterer said Young's decision to cancel his last visits was made by Young and his representatives. Carolina was initially favored to take Ohio State's C.J. Stroud with the No. 1 overall pick because of his size, but now Young is the favorite to be taken by the Panthers to kick off the 2023 draft. In Frank Reich's first year as the new head coach, the Panthers are fully expected to start their rookie signal-caller in Week 1 of his rookie season, even after signing veteran Andy Dalton in free agency this offseason.
