Panthers Defense Has Solid Day
3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers defense enjoyed a solid day in Week 1 against the Jets. Carolina tallied six sacks, an interception, and one forced fumble, though it was recovered by the Jets. Shaq Thompson, Hasson Reddick, and Brian Burns were busy, getting a fair amount of pressure on Wilson the whole game. Thompson put together a game-ball-worthy performance, picking up 10 tackles, a sack, and an interception, which he returned 29 yards. The Panthers defense could have some sneaky value this season and could be worth starting again in Week 2 against the Saints. Jameis Winston has been turnover-prone in his career, something Carolina could take advantage of.
