Panthers D/ST Should Be Avoided at All Costs Against Commanders
1 month agoThere should be no reason to have the Panthers' defensive/special teams unit in any lineup this week. Carolina is dead last in opponent points per game, 29th in opponent yards per game, and 18th in takeaways. In Week 7, they'll face the mighty Commanders offense, which ranks atop several offensive categories—second in points per game, fifth in yards per game, and third in fewest giveaways. Playing an inadequate defense against a good offense is rarely a recipe for success. Notable injuries on Carolina's defense include defensive end A'Shawn Robinson (knee), linebacker Josey Jewell (hamstring), and linebacker Claudin Cherelus (hamstring)—all out. In addition, linebacker Jadeveon Clowney (shoulder) is doubtful. Carolina is ranked 30th among all team defenses in the latest RotoBaller rankings, making them an avoid at all costs for Week 7.
