2 days agoPortland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons (illness) is regarded as questionable for Wednesday's meeting with Oklahoma City. An illness has already knocked him out for a couple of games, and he might miss another one. Scoot Henderson has rolled with the starters during Simons' absence. He's been inconsistent all year and doesn't look like a good fantasy option at present. Dalano Banton's minutes have also been on the up lately, and he's coming off a 23-point performance against Atlanta. Banton has averaged 13.3 points for the month, but his scoring form faces a big test on Wednesday, as the Thunder own the league's best defensive rating (102.4).Source: NBA Injury Report
2 days agoPortland Trail Blazers center Deandre Ayton (finger) has been listed as doubtful on the injury report ahead of Wednesday's matchup against Oklahoma City. He's dealing with a right index finger injury, and it looks like the Trail Blazers will be without Ayton for a fourth consecutive game. If that's the case, Donovan Clingan should continue to start. The seven-foot-two rookie produced a monster effort with a double-double and eight blocks against Minnesota last week but has been inconsistent. Robert Williams III also benefits from Ayton's absence.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 days agoPhiladelphia 76ers guard Kyle Lowry (hip) has been ruled out for the next three games. It appears Lowry suffered a right hip strain during Monday's scoreless outing against the Miami Heat. Now, Lowry will be shut down and re-evaluated next week. The Sixers are also without Tyrese Maxey (hamstring), but he's currently listed as questionable for Wednesday's contest. If he sits, Jared McCain, Eric Gordon, and Reggie Jackson would all continue seeing significant roles in the rotation. McCain is by far the best option out of the bunch in terms of fantasy production.Source: Keith Pompey

2 days agoPhiladelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) has been upgraded from out to questionable ahead of Wednesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Maxey has missed the last six games due to a right hamstring strain. It sounds like he's on the verge of returning which is great news for this Sixers team. Fellow guard Kyle Lowry (hip) has been ruled out for at least the next three games. That means, Jared McCain should see heavy minutes if Maxey and Lowry are both out. McCain has been excellent lately and is someone who needs to be rostered in most formats. Reggie Jackson and Eric Gordon figure to gain minutes as well if Maxey remains out. If active, Maxey might be on a minutes limit during his first game back, so fantasy managers should be mindful of that.Source: Keith Pompey
2 days agoDallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic (knee) will play against New Orleans on Tuesday. He returns to the lineup after missing one game. Doncic produced a rare dud in his last outing and should be amped up to get back to his best against the Pelicans. Quentin Grimes will land back on the bench with Doncic's return. Grimes has had a couple of good outings recently, but he's been a starter on these occasions. The 24-year-old doesn't have fantasy value as a reserve.Source: Tim MacMahon

2 days agoMemphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant (hip) has already missed the last five games due to injury and it doesn't sound like he's on the verge of returning. Head coach Taylor Jenkins said on Tuesday that Morant's imaging on his hip came back positive. Despite that, Morant is still considered week-to-week, so this isn't great news for fantasy managers. The assumption is that Morant will be out until at least early December. Scotty Pippen Jr. and Jaylen Wells have been picking up the slack with Morant being sidelined. Both players are worth looking at while the Grizzlies are shorthanded in the backcourt.Source: Damichael Cole
2 days agoCharlotte Hornets guard Tre Mann (back) has been upgraded from questionable to available for Tuesday's game against Brooklyn. He's returning to the lineup after sitting out one game. Mann has enjoyed a good start to the campaign, averaging 14.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in 24.7 minutes off the bench. However, he might have a difficult time on Tuesday, as only nine teams allow fewer bench points than the Nets. Mann's return will likely push Vasilije Micic out of the rotation.Source: NBA Injury Report

2 days agoMemphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey (ankle) suffered an injury during Sunday's win over the Denver Nuggets. Since then, Edey underwent imaging that looked promising, according to head coach Taylor Jenkins. However, the rookie center is currently being listed as week-to-week by the organization. That's a shame considering Edey was putting together a promising start to his rookie campaign. The loss of Edey means more playing time for Jay Huff, Brandon Clarke and Santi Aldama in the rotation going forward. Between the trio, Aldama might be the best streaming choice given he's scored double digits in four of his last six games.Source: Damichael Cole
2 days agoCleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Sam Merrill (ankle) will be back in the lineup as a starter on Tuesday against Boston. He's been sidelined for three games with ankle inflammation. Merrill makes his return at a good time because the Cavaliers have lost some rotational pieces for Tuesday's game. This should guarantee him plenty of playing time. The 28-year-old has averaged 6.8 points in 19.7 minutes this season but might get past the 25-minute mark on Tuesday, with Caris LeVert (knee) and Isaac Okoro (ankle) missing.Source: Serena Winters

2 days agoCleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Isaac Okoro (ankle) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Boston Celtics. Okoro has been downgraded from questionable to out after he suffered a sprained left ankle during Sunday's game. The Cavs are also without Caris LeVert (knee), so that could mean big minutes for Georges Niang. The expectation is that Niang will play minutes in the mid or high 20s with the Cavs shorthanded. He has finished with double digit scoring in three of his last four games. Fantasy managers should consider Niang as a possible streaming option without Okoro available.Source: Sam Amico
2 days agoThe New York Yankees added infielder Caleb Durbin and catcher Jesus Rodriguez to their 40-man roster on Tuesday so that they cannot be taken in the upcoming Rule 5 draft by another team. The Yankees also received right-hander Carson Coleman as a Rule 5 draft return from the Texas Rangers. It's quickly become clear that the Yankees are high on Durbin heading into 2025 and beyond, and it's hard to blame them after the 24-year-old looked good at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre before tearing it up in the Arizona Fall League. Surprisingly, he's not listed among the team's top-30 prospects by MLB Pipeline after slashing .287/.396/.471 with 10 homers, 60 RBI and 29 steals in 82 games at Triple-A this year. If Durbin keeps his strong play going into spring training early next year, he could open the regular season on the Opening Day roster.Source: New York Yankees
2 days agoPittsburgh Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt was a full participant in practice Tuesday. Watt was listed as a DNP on Monday's practice estimate but it appears to have been a rest day for the eighth-year veteran. Watt is arguably the most important piece of a talented Steelers defense. He has recorded 7.5 sacks and four forced fumbles in 2024. With the Steelers set to play the Cleveland Browns and a turnover-prone Jameis Winston in Week 12, Watt could have a field day. The Steelers are rolling in 2024. They sit atop the AFC North with a 8-2 record. Thursday Night games tend to be defensive struggles which bodes well for Watt's production. As such, the Steelers D/ST could be excellent in this game if they can to force turnovers out of Winston.Source: Pittsburgh Steelers
2 days agoCleveland Cavaliers guard Caris LeVert (knee) has been ruled out ahead of Tuesday's game against the Boston Celtics. LeVert was tagged as questionable ahead of this game due to left knee inflammation. The team has decided to hold him out which will result in his third absence this season. The absence of LeVert should mean more playing time for Ty Jerome and Georges Niang. Neither player is a reliable fantasy option, but it's worth noting that Jerome is coming off a 24-point performance during his last game. He might be worth a look as a streaming choice on Tuesday.Source: Sam Amico
2 days agoIn moves made to protect some of their better young prospects from the upcoming Rule 5 draft, the St. Louis Cardinals added right-handers Tink Hence, Tekoah Roby and Matt Svanson and outfielder Matt Koperniak to their 40-man roster on Tuesday. Hence is the team's most decorated prospect, with MLB Pipeline listing him as their No. 2 prospect. Injuries have been a problem for the 22-year-old, but when healthy, he has displayed promising upside on the mound. The former second-round pick in 2020 had a nice 2.71 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 109 strikeouts and only 26 walks in 79 2/3 innings over 20 starts for Double-A Springfield in 2024. Roby checks in as St. Louis' No. 6 prospect, while Svanson and Koperniak aren't listed among the team's top-30 prospects. All four of the young players cannot be claimed in the Rule 5 draft now by other organizations.Source: St. Louis Cardinals
2 days agoMinnesota Wild defenseman Jonas Brodin (upper body) will rejoin the action against St. Louis on Tuesday. An upper-body injury has kept Brodin out for two games. Averaging over 22 minutes of action, Brodin has kept himself busy all over the ice, recording six points (one goal, five assists), 29 shots, and 33 blocks in 15 games. He will partner Jared Spurgeon on the second defensive pairing, with Jon Merrill exiting the lineup.Source: Sarah McLellan
2 days agoTo protect him from the upcoming Rule 5 draft, the Chicago Cubs added outfield prospect Owen Caissie to their 40-man roster on Tuesday, according to a source. As ESPN's Kiley McDaniels' 63rd-best prospect in baseball (back in August), the move doesn't come as much of a surprise. Per MLB Pipeline, Caissie is listed as Chicago's No. 2 prospect, behind only infielder Matt Shaw. The 22-year-old Canadian hits from the left side but throws right-handed. In 127 games at Triple-A Iowa in 2024, Caissie hit .278/.375/.473 with an .848 OPS, 19 home runs, 75 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 69 runs scored in 549 plate appearances. He impresses talent evaluators the most with his raw power at the plate, giving him 40-homer upside in the majors. If Caissie impresses the Cubs' coaching staff in spring training early in 2025, it's not out of the realm of possibilities that he opens the year on the Opening Day roster.Source: ESPN.com - Kiley McDaniel
2 days agoMinnesota Wild center Joel Eriksson Ek (lower body) will return from a one-game absence on Tuesday against St. Louis. The Swedish forward will join the top line and is also set to work on the first power-play unit. Eriksson Ek has spent most of the season on the second line, registering eight points (five goals, three assists) in 14 appearances. He's been limited to one assist in six outings. The Wild clearly want to get him going again offensively by partnering Eriksson Ek with Kirill Kaprizov. With Mats Zuccarello (lower body) out of the lineup, Matt Boldy has also moved to the first line.Source: Sarah McLellan
2 days agoFree-agent right-hander Nick Pivetta declined the Boston Red Sox's $21.05 million qualifying offer on Tuesday. It means that if Pivetta signs with another team on the free-agent market this offseason, the Red Sox will receive draft-pick compensation. The 31-year-old should be able to receive a pretty lucrative long-term contract on the open market, but it remains to be seen if he'll return to Beantown. In his eighth year in the big leagues in 2024, the Canadian hurler went 6-12 with a 4.14 ERA (4.07 FIP), a 1.13 WHIP and a 172:36 K:BB in 145 2/3 innings over his 27 outings (26 starts). He has a career 4.76 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 26.0% strikeout rate and 8.6% walk rate, although his strikeout rate has been over 30% in the last two seasons in Boston. Leaving the tough American League East could be good news for Pivetta's fantasy value.Source: New York Post - Jon Heyman
2 days agoSt. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas (ankle) will re-enter the lineup on Tuesday against Minnesota. He's back after missing 12 games with a fractured ankle. Thomas picked up six points (one goal, five assists) in seven outings before landing on the shelf. The 25-year-old will resume his duties as the first-line center and will also join the first power-play unit. Thomas was held without a point by the Wild on Oct. 15, but he has amassed 16 points against them throughout his career -- it's his third-highest points tally against any opposition. As a result of Thomas' return, Mathieu Joseph will sit as a healthy scratch on Tuesday.Source: St. Louis Blues
2 days agoThe New York Mets acquired outfielder Jose Siri from the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday in exchange for pitcher Eric Orze, according to a league source. Siri could see a considerable amount of playing time next year for the Mets with Harrison Bader potentially leaving in free agency. However, the 29-year-old Dominican is going to need to pick it up offensively after hitting just .187/.255/.366 with a weak .620 OPS, 18 home runs, 47 RBI, a career-high-tying 14 stolen bases and 50 runs scored in 130 games played (448 plate appearances). Siri struck out 37.9 percent of the time. His glove is probably his most attractive attribute, but he can also provide some modest speed in NL-only leagues. Orze is a 27-year-old reliever who had a 2.92 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and three saves in 61 2/3 innings for Triple-A Syracuse in 2024 before making his major-league debut (1 2/3 frames).Source: The Athletic - Will Sammon
2 days agoNew York Islanders defenseman Alexander Romanov (upper body) will return to the lineup on Tuesday against Calgary. He's missed the past seven games and has played in only one of the last 11 contests. The Russian blue-liner boasts two assists for the season with 10 shots on goal, 21 blocks, and 16 hits in eight outings. Romanov will be reunited with Noah Dobson on the first defensive pairing. Grant Hutton will come out of the lineup. The Flames average the eighth-most hits per game, and Romanov's return will help the Islanders match their physicality.Source: Stefen Rosner
2 days agoTampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point (lower body) will return to the lineup Tuesday versus Pittsburgh. He has received the green light to return after sitting out four games. Before suffering a lower-body injury, Point was on fire, going scoreless in only two of 12 appearances. He has notched eight goals and five assists this term. Point will join Jake Guentzel and Nikita Kucherov on the top line, bumping Anthony Cirelli down to the second. Cirelli must also relinquish his role on the first power-play unit, but he will still have a good amount of fantasy value. The 27-year-old has averaged a point per game in 16 appearances, with four goals and 12 assists.Source: Sportsnet
2 days agoChicago Bulls forward Patrick Williams (feet) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. The 23-year-old hasn't missed a game this season, which is good news, considering he missed time during the 2023-24 campaign because of a foot injury. It's unknown if his surgically-repaired foot is giving him trouble. But for now, fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned about bilateral foot soreness. Williams has played as well as expected this season, averaging 9.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 39.4% shooting from deep. Unfortunately, that type of production won't earn him a consistent place in some fantasy lineups. If he's sidelined on Wednesday, Jalen Smith could be in line for more work.Source: K.C. Johnson
2 days agoBrooklyn Nets forward Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) is suiting up for Tuesday's game versus the Hornets. The 31-year-old has a left ankle sprain but will play through it. After missing two games, Finney-Smith returned to the starting lineup on Friday and has played well in his last two outings, scoring at least 15 points in both games against the New York Knicks. As a vital part of the Nets' rotation, he averages nearly 30 minutes per game, contributing 10.9 points and 4.8 rebounds during this year's campaign.Source: NBA Injury Report
2 days agoVancouver Canucks right wing Conor Garland (personal) is considered a game-time call for Tuesday's matchup against the Rangers. The 28-year-old is set to become a father soon and didn't skate Tuesday morning. Garland has posted assists in back-to-back games and sits third on the team's scoring charts with 13 points (four goals, nine assists) through 17 appearances. J.T. Miller (personal) has already been ruled out for Tuesday night, and if Garland can't play either, the Canucks will have to count more on their depth pieces. Kiefer Sherwood has already seen increased playing time recently, and Dakota Joshua may experience the same.Source: Adam Kierszenblat
2 days agoOrlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. (foot) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, per Dan Savage of the Magic's official site. Carter was able to practice Tuesday after missing eight straight contests due to left plantar fasciitis. The 25-year-old has consistently contributed when on the floor, averaging 8.3 points and 8.8 rebounds this season. If the big man can go, he will likely see limited minutes, and Moritz Wagner, Jonathan Isaac, and Goga Bitadze will continue to see expanded roles in the frontcourt. Source: Dan Savage
