2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts running back Trey Sermon ran the ball 10 times for 38 yards and a touchdown in the team's 34-37 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also grabbed six catches for another 25 yards through the air. Sermon was slated to be the starter in Jonathan Taylor's (ankle) absence and was able to string together a productive fantasy outing as a result. Sermon saw a 10 to five split in carries with running back Tyler Goodson, indicating there will be a noteworthy split in opportunities between the two in Taylor's absence. The former Ohio State Buckeye remains a viable option with Taylor out but will be in for a tougher matchup in Week 6 when the Colts face the Tennessee Titans.Source: ESPN

2 weeks agoAccording to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, the Colts could get quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) back in the lineup for the Week 6 matchup with the Titans. The signal-caller suffered an oblique injury during the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fortunately, Glazer indicated the injury isn't expected to keep him out for long. In the meantime, veteran Joe Flacco, who got the start in Week 5 versus Jacksonville, will operate under center and is worth adding to multi-quarterback fantasy formats as long as Richardson remains on the shelf.Source: Jay Glazer
2 weeks agoAs expected, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) is officially inactive for Week 5 against the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars. Richardson was initially listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report before being downgraded to doubtful on Saturday. Fantasy managers should have already moved the second-year signal-caller to their benches for this weekend. He's been a disappointment as a QB1 in fantasy so far through his first four games in 2024, and it remains to be seen if he can return in Week 6 to face the division-rival Tennessee Titans. The Colts will be missing both Richardson and running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) in this one against Jacksonville. With Richardson out, veteran Joe Flacco will make his first start of the season and could be a boost to Indy's receivers. Flacco should be in play as a QB2 streamer in superflex leagues in Week 5.Source: Indianapolis Colts
2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts running back Tyler Goodson is expected to see more involvement during Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts are going to be without Jonathan Taylor (ankle) for at least one game. Head coach Shane Steichen said that the team plans to use a committee approach at running back. Trey Sermon figures to lead the charge with Goodson and Evan Hull being mixed in behind him. Goodson hasn't seen much of the field this season, but could serve as change-of-pace option or receiving back for Week 5. The Colts could use a run-heavy approach with quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) considered doubtful. Goodson should find a way to get involved, but remains a desperation option in deep leagues.Source: ESPN
2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Joe Flacco came off the bench to help the Colts in Week 4, completing 16 of his 26 passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns in the team's win. Now, reports suggest that Flacco will get the start again in Week 5, with Anthony Richardson (hip) marked as doubtful. Flacco gets a favorable matchup against Jacksonville, a team that has allowed the most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season and the second most passing yards. Although Flacco doesn't provide the same ceiling as some other potential streaming options, he provides a very safe floor going up against Jacksonville's defense. He is the QB23 in our staff rankings this week.Source: RotoBaller
2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts running back Trey Sermon hasn't seen much action this season, but that is set to change in Week 5. With starting running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) confirmed out, Sermon is set to be the starter for Indianapolis in Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars. He also draws a favorable matchup, with the Jaguars allowing the seventh most fantasy points to the position. It's unclear how much of a split there will be between Sermon and RBs Tyler Goodson and Evan Hull, which might hinder Sermon's production in the matchup. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues needing a replacement for Taylor can look to Sermon, but managers with more depth might want to wait to see how the backfield plays out this week. He is the RB20 in our half-PPR rankings.Source: RotoBaller
2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs had his best game of the season in Week 4, grabbing eight catches for 82 yards and a touchdown in the team's win. Since returning from injury, Downs immediately went back into a starting role in the offense, offering a deep-threat ability with his speed. Downs is in for a favorable Week 5 matchup against the Jaguars, a team allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to the position and the second-most receiving yards this season. Jacksonville's defense has also been below-average against slot receivers, allowing the 11th most points to the position. The starting QB for Indy in Week 5 has yet to be confirmed, but Downs' value would see a slight uptick if QB Joe Flacco is named the starter for Sunday. With the favorable matchup and his big-play ability, fantasy managers can view Downs as a solid WR3 option. He is the WR34 in our half-PPR rankings.Source: RotoBaller
2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. had his best performance of the season in Week 4, grabbing six targets for 113 yards. He now gears up for a favorable matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5. The Jaguars have allowed the fifth most points to the position this season and the second-most receiving yards. No. 1 WR options have succeeded against Jacksonville this season, most recently in Week 4 when WR Nico Collins grabbed 12 catches for 151 yards and a touchdown. While there is still uncertainty at the QB position for Indy with Anthony Richardson (hip) doubtful, Pittman makes for a strong start regardless of the starting QB. Fantasy managers can prioritize him as a WR2 in Week 5. He is the WR27 in our half-PPR rankings.Source: RotoBaller

2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) and center Ryan Kelly (neck) have both been downgraded from questionable to doubtful to play in Week 5 against the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars. Richardson suffered an oblique injury in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and was relieved by veteran Joe Flacco, who now appears to be in line for his first start in Indy in 2024. Fantasy managers were probably already considering benching Richardson this week after his disappointing start to his sophomore season, and now you can officially move him to the bench for Week 5. The 39-year-old Flacco becomes a clear QB2 streamer in superflex leagues against a Jaguars defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to QBs so far this year. Flacco went 16-for-26 for 168 yards and two touchdowns in relief of Richardson last week against Pittsburgh.Source: Indianapolis Colts
2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) is expected to be a game-time decision for Week 5 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. He was limited this week and is officially listed as questionable to play on Sunday. Fowler notes that Richardson can't necessarily worsen his current injury, so his Week 5 status primarily hinges on pain tolerance and functionality. The 22-year-old has been an underwhelming fantasy option over the last three weeks, but he'd have a real chance to turn things around this weekend against a Jaguars defense allowing the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. If healthy, he'd rank as a low-end QB1. Otherwise, Joe Flacco would earn the start.Source: Jeremy Fowler
2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (oblique) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game with an oblique injury. The sophomore quarterback exited last weekend's game early with the same injury and was considered "day-to-day" throughout the week. Richardson logged three straight limited practice sessions this week, which suggests that the injury may not be overly serious and that the team is leaning on the side of caution with their franchise quarterback. No.2 QB Joe Flacco was seen taking first-team reps during Friday's practice as well. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Richardson's status leading up to Sunday's game. If the 22-year-old is able to suit up, he should be viewed as a low-end QB1 facing a weak Jacksonville defense. If Richardson is unable to play, he will cede starting duties to Flacco, who threw for 168 yards and two scores in relief last weekend.Source: Indianapolis Colts
2 weeks agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (abdomen, oblique) is in pads and practicing for the third time this week on Friday. However, The Athletic's James Boyd reports that veteran Joe Flacco is taking most, if not all, of the first-team repetitions in practice as Richardson stands behind Flacco to watch him throw. Richardson was relieved by Flacco in the Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. The 22-year-old's injury isn't believed to be serious, but perhaps they let Flacco make the Week 5 start against the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday. Either way, Richardson has fallen to low-end QB1/high-end QB2 territory after a disappointing start to his sophomore season in which he leads the league with six interceptions thrown. Check back for Richardson's final Week 5 status going into Sunday's game. The Colts will also be without star running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) this week.Source: Indianapolis Star - Nate Atkins
