3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) was questionable heading into Week 9 and was cleared to play against the Detroit Lions, where the Packers lost 24-14. Jacobs was efficient on the ground, totaling 95 rushing yards on just 13 attempts before the Packers were in catch-up mode for the sizable portion of the second-half. In the receiving game, Jacobs also added two catches for 13 yards on three targets. With the Packers on bye heading into Week 10, that will give Jacobs this week to get healthy before a divisional slugfest with the Chicago Bears in Week 11. For that contest, Jacobs should be considered a low-end RB1 for fantasy purposes given his huge chunk of the rushing volume for the Packers.Source: ESPN
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) was good to go to play in Week 9 after two limited practices and a questionable tag, but he was lackluster in the Packers' 24-14 loss at home to the Detroit Lions. Love was 23-of-39 passing for 273 yards, but did not throw a touchdown pass for the first time this season and threw an interception which led to a return for a touchdown by Kerby Joseph that broke the game open at the end of the first half. While Love was not sacked, he was pressured from the jump by the Lions' defense and fumbled the ball three times, but he didn't turn the ball over on those instances. The Packers get their bye at a great time as Love can rest up during Week 10 before heading to take on their oldest rival, the Chicago Bears, in Week 11. A healthy Love is still in the fantasy QB1 conversation despite Week 9's misstep.Source: ESPN
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) is officially active for Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. He had been listed as questionable after logging two consecutive limited practices. While Love is going to start, the Packers are expected to be cautious with him, which means they'll monitor his pain levels and performance throughout the duration of Sunday's game. In the event that he can't finish the game, Malik Willis would be next in line at the quarterback position. Between his injury, a tough matchup against the Lions, and some rainy conditions in Green Bay, Love drops to the QB2 tier in fantasy football this week.Source: Green Bay Packers
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) is officially active for Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. He had been listed as questionable after logging a pair of limited practices prior to this weekend. The 26-year-old has been quite productive in his first season with Green Bay, tallying 667 rushing yards, 115 receiving yards, and four touchdowns while ranking as the overall RB11. He's worth deploying as a low-end RB1 this week, especially with rainy conditions expected to necessitate a run-heavy gameplan for both Green Bay and Detroit.Source: Green Bay Packers
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) is inactive for Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. He had been listed as questionable but was trending in the wrong direction after missing three consecutive practices. The 27-year-old will now have extra time to get healthy between today's absence and the Packers' Week 10 bye. For now, Eric Stokes and Corey Ballentine should see extra opportunities in the secondary.Source: Green Bay Packers
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) is expected to start in Sunday's game against the Lions. However, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that the team will monitor the signal-caller throughout the contest. If Love begins to show any signs of discomfort related to the groin strain suffered in Week 8 against the Jaguars, he'll be pulled, opening the door for Malik Willis to take over under center. While fantasy managers were certainly thrilled to hear the news regarding Love's availability in Week 9, he'll remain a risky option, considering he could be pulled at any point during the game.Source: Jay Glazer
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson hasn't been able to do much damage as the backup this season. Wilson did rush for 54 yards in Week 6, but since then Wilson has been held to 16 yards over the last two games. The 25-year-old hasn't seen the field much lately with Josh Jacobs (ankle) healthy. There was some concern over Jacobs' status earlier in the week, but he appears to be good to go for Week 9 against the Detroit Lions. That being said, Wilson will remain the backup and isn't worth rostering in most redraft formats. He's worth a stash in deep leagues or dynasty formats because he'd likely become the starter if anything happens to Jacobs.Source: ESPN
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (ankle) is expected to suit up for Sunday's NFC North clash with the Lions. The veteran didn't practice on Wednesday, although he logged limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. However, it wasn't enough to prevent him from earning a questionable tag for Week 9. The 26-year-old is coming off a strong showing, amassing 25 carries for 127 yards and two scores in the Week 8 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Unfortunately, Jacobs will have a challenging matchup against a Lions defense that has held opposing running backs in check this season, so fantasy managers could see him finish below expectations. With that said, he's still a must-start in all formats.Source: Adam Schefter
3 weeks agoAccording to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) is expected to play (and start) in Sunday's NFC North showdown with the Lions. The signal-caller injured his groin in the Week 8 matchup with Jacksonville, ending his day prematurely. While there were reports indicating that the injury wasn't as serious as initially believed, he didn't practice on Wednesday before logging limited sessions on Thursday and Friday. Fortunately, all signs are pointing toward his availability for the pivotal matchup, barring a setback. Without question, Love's anticipated participation in Sunday's contest is great news for fantasy managers. However, he has been mediocre versus Detroit over the years, throwing for 648 yards, five touchdowns, and four interceptions while completing 64.7% of his attempts. Granted, Love is still a must-start, but fantasy managers may not see him at his best, especially since he may have lingering issues related to the injury.Source: Adam Schefter
3 weeks agoAccording to Ian Rapoport of the NFL, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) expects to play on Sunday when the team hosts their division-rival Detroit Lions. Per Rapoport, there have been no setbacks in Love's recovery from a groin injury he suffered in Week 8, and barring something unforeseen, he's tracking to play in the pivotal Week 9 matchup. It's excellent news for the Pack, who, at 6-2, can take control of the NFC North with a win over their 6-1 rivals. Fantasy managers will still want to monitor Love's status ahead of Sunday, as even if the 26-year-old plays, Green Bay could lean on running back Josh Jacobs a smidge more than usual.Source: Ian Rapoport
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers kicker Brandon McManus looks to keep his run of perfection going as the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9. McManus has been perfect on all of his kicks this season, whether it be field goals or extra point attempts. He's been a perfect 4-for-4 on field goal attempts and a pristine 6-for-6 on extra points and in both games, has kicked the game-winning field goal, so pressure-packed situations aren't fazing McManus. After a rough early season for former Packers kicker Brayden Narveson that led to his exit, McManus has provided the Packers with stability and dependability. The offensive environment for Week 9's matchup against the Lions should be ripe with offensive opportunity, so consider McManus a solid fantasy kicker in the team's matchup against the Lions.Source: RotoBaller
3 weeks agoThe Green Bay Packers' defense and special teams' unit has been a great D/ST to start for fantasy managers this season, but they will have their hands full as the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9. The Lions are coming off of a 52-point blowout of the Tennessee Titans in Week 8 and stride into Lambeau Field with huge offensive momentum. The Packers were a top-10 fantasy defense from Week 2 through Week 6 but in the last two weeks, have scored just nine fantasy points against the Texans and Jaguars. Against this Lions team that can score at any time and in multiple ways, the opportunistic Packers' defense will have some chances, but it's a unit you shouldn't be starting in your fantasy lineups this week.Source: RotoBaller
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft looks to keep his awesome run of fantasy production going as the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9. Kraft has been awesome for fantasy managers this season, but especially since Week 4, as Kraft has been a top-12 or better fantasy tight end in four of the last five weeks with five touchdowns in that span. He's averaged almost five receptions and 53 receiving yards in that span as well, so despite having the touchdowns propping him up a bit, the volume has been there for him each week in this potent Packers offense. Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) was listed as questionable in the team's final practice report and if he doesn't play in Week 9, Malik Willis will start. Willis at quarterback downgrades the pass-catchers across the board, but Kraft should be a near-universal TE1 start in fantasy no matter who is starting at quarterback for the Packers in Week 9.Source: RotoBaller
3 weeks agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs has been on a solid run of production and that should continue this week when the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9. Since returning from a one-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team in Week 6, Doubs has double-digit fantasy points in each of his last three games. Doubs has 18 targets in his last two games and has been the most targeted Packer in the last three weeks. Of course, Doubs remaining heavily targeted in the Packers' offense is contingent on Jordan Love (groin) being able to play. Love was listed as questionable in the team's final practice report and if he doesn't play, Malik Willis will start. Doubs would take a big hit if Willis does play, where he would be a flex play. If Love starts in Week 9, fantasy managers should slot Doubs into lineups as a low-end WR3.Source: RotoBaller
