11 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion, shoulder) has been cleared from the league's concussion protocol and practiced in full on Thursday and Friday, but he still wasn't able to escape a questionable tag for the Week 17 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Pittman missed the Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons but is feeling much better and should be fully expected to play this Sunday despite the questionable tag. Fantasy managers should have already moved him back into their starting lineups as a strong WR2 play as Indianapolis' clear No. 1 target when healthy. Pittman has been the WR15 in half-PPR scoring this year, even though he missed last weekend's game with a concussion. He's one reception shy of reaching the 100-catch mark for the first time in his career after finishing the 2022 campaign with exactly 99 receptions.Source: Indianapolis Colts
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) has cleared the league's concussion protocol and is on track to return and play in Week 17 this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. The writing was on the wall for Pittman to return this weekend following a one-game absence after he was cleared for contact and was a full-go in Thursday's practice session. The 26-year-old now needs to be reinserted into all starting fantasy lineups with championship trophies on the line in most leagues this week. Pittman ranks 17th among wideouts with 12.8 half-PPR fantasy points per game in 2023 and has a total of 99 receptions for 1,062 yards and four touchdowns this season in 14 games played. He's quarterback Gardner Minshew's top target and should be busy in Week 17 in his return to action.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that running back Zack Moss (forearm) has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders after he was downgraded to a non-participant in Friday's practice. Moss was limited in practices on Wednesday and Thursday before taking a step back on Friday and now he'll miss his second straight game. The 26-year-old's absence will be good news for Jonathan Taylor, who made his return in the Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons after missing three games following thumb surgery. Taylor should handle the majority of the backfield touches for the Colts this Sunday and should be considered a must-start RB1 in fantasy in a very good matchup at home against the Raiders. Expect Trey Sermon to back up Taylor.Source: FOX 59 - Mike Chappell

11 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion, shoulder) practiced again on Thursday, this time in a regular blue jersey, meaning he's been cleared for full contact. However, that doesn't mean that Pittman has cleared the league's concussion protocol and is a lock to play in Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The 26-year-old suffered a concussion in Week 15 and sat out of the Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Still, the fact he's practicing in full before Friday is a good sign that he'll eventually gain clearance to play this weekend. Pittman is Indy's clear top target when healthy and has 99 receptions for 1,062 yards and four touchdowns on 143 targets so far this year. If he's officially active in Week 17, he needs to be put back into all starting fantasy lineups with championship titles on the line.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) was listed as a limited participant for the team's practice on Wednesday. Moss did not play in the Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, but his participation in the first practice of the week is a sign that he could return to share the backfield with Jonathan Taylor this Sunday versus the Las Vegas Raiders. Moss' return would be bad news for Taylor's overall fantasy ceiling, but the expectation is that Taylor will remain the Colts' lead runner. Taylor returned from a thumb injury that kept him out of three games and had 18 carries for 43 yards (2.39 yards per attempt) while salvaging his fantasy day with his fifth trip to the end zone of the season. He couldn't haul in his only target through the air.Source: Indianapolis Colts
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion, shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Head coach Shane Steichen said that Pittman remains in the league's concussion protocol, but he's clearly making progress and has a shot to be cleared later this week to play in Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders after being forced to sit out of Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The 26-year-old belongs in all starting fantasy lineups for a championship matchup this weekend if he's eventually given the green light to suit up. If Pittman misses a second straight game, the Colts will once again roll with rookie Josh Downs and Alec Pierce as their primary receivers, with tight ends Kylen Granson and rookie Will Mallory also seeing bigger roles in the passing attack.Source: Indianapolis Colts
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen confirmed on Wednesday that wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) is still in the league's concussion protocol "but he's progressing well." Pittman, who is also dealing with a shoulder injury, was forced to sit out of Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons after symptoms of his concussion from a week prior resurfaced. It's good news that the 26-year-old pass-catcher is progressing, but if he's unable to get back on the practice field in the next three days, he might be forced to miss a second straight game this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. When healthy, Pittman is a must-start in all fantasy lineups.Source: CNHI Sports - George Bremer
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Kylen Granson led the team when he reeled in five of his seven targets for 62 yards in the team's 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Indy found themselves struggling to move the ball in this one, and with wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) out, Granson was able to step up and see some additional volume. The Colts have shuffled around numerous tight ends this season, so it's unclear if Granson's volume will continue moving forward. The former SMU Mustang may be an interesting waiver wire pickup in Week 17 but isn't a sure-fire option for the team's next matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.Source: ESPN
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs led the team in targets in wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr's (concussion) absence in the team's 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Downs reeled in six of his nine targets for 39 yards on the day. While he did have a sizable target share, this now marks the fourth game in a row where the rookie has been held to under 40 yards. If Pittman misses their Week 17 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, Downs can be in consideration for a WR3/Flex option with the uptick in volume.Source: ESPN
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew completed 20 of his 37 passing attempts for 201 yards through the air in the team's 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Minshew threw no touchdowns and one interception on the day. Indy had difficulty moving the ball against Atlanta's defense, and Minshew's fantasy production took a dip as a result. He remains primarily a deeper streaming option in Week 17 when the Colts square off against the Las Vegas Raiders.Source: ESPN
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 18 times for 43 yards and a touchdown in a 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Taylor was not involved in the passing game, seeing just one target which he did not catch. Coming back from his thumb injury, the fifth-year back went right back into his full workload receiving over 85% of the running back opportunities. Taylor will look to keep the momentum going in Week 17 when the Colts face off against the Las Vegas Raiders.Source: ESPN
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion, shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. As expected, Pittman will sit this game out after suffering a concussion last week. The Colts aren't going to push anything especially with Pittman dealing with multiple injuries. It's going to be tough for the Colts to fill the void left behind from Pittman. The expectation is that Josh Downs, Alec Pierce, and D.J. Montgomery will see more action in the receiving game. Between the three, Downs has the most fantasy value heading into this matchup.Source: Adam Schefter
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. He had initially been listed as questionable but was trending in the wrong direction after missing all three practices this past week. Jonathan Taylor's return from a three-game absence is coming at the perfect time for the Colts, who can still feel confident about their backfield despite losing Moss. Look for Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson to back up Taylor this week.Source: Ian Rapoport
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts kicker Matt Gay (hip) will not carry a designation into the Week 16 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Gay missed Wednesday's practice, then logged a limited session on Thursday, and on Friday was able to participate in full, per the team's official injury report. On the season, Gay has gone 26-for-33 on field goal attempts and has converted 32 of his 33 extra-point tries. Five of his misses (including the whiffed PAT) have come in the four games since the Colts' Week 11 bye, but Gay saw enough success in the same timeframe to finish as a top-10 kicker three times. On the season he has been a top-10 option nine times and can be counted on for another strong finish on Sunday in the neutral conditions of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.Source: colts.com
