Texas Rangers pitching prospect Kohl Drake enjoyed a strong bounce-back in his latest start. On April 16, Kohl tossed five innings of one-hit ball against Double-A Amarillo. In this outing, Drake served up just one free pass and struck out six batters. In his first start of the campaign, Drake allowed four earned runs and four hits across just three innings of work. Last summer, the former 11th-round selection progressed through the Texas system quite quickly as he began the season with Low-A and was able to end the campaign with Double-A. During his first stint at Double-A last season, the left-handed pitcher held a solid 3.10 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. During this stint, Drake tallied 20 punchouts and served up 11 walks. Fantasy managers should expect Drake to contend for a promotion to Triple-A in the coming weeks.Jose Castillo Makes Season Debut
Jose Castillo (adductor) made his season debut over the weekend with Triple-A Reno. In this outing, the southpaw tossed a clean frame and struck out two batters. Castillo opened the campaign on the injured list due to left adductor tightness. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progress with Triple-A as he could be in the mix to return to the big leagues in the coming weeks. Through his career, Castillo has logged 40 1/3 innings in the majors and tallied an impressive 55 punchouts while holding a 4.24 ERA with a strong 1.04 WHIP. Last summer, the left-hander spent most of his time with Triple-A Reno as he logged 20 2/3 innings to the tune of a 4.35 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. For now, Castillo should not be on your fantasy radar as he slowly increases his workload.Source: MiLB.com
Arizona Diamondbacks left-handed pitcher Jordan Wicks Optioned To Triple-A
Jordan Wicks to Triple-A Iowa. Wicks joined the Cubs for their weekend series against the Arizona Diamondbacks but will return to the top level of the minor leagues instead. Last season, Wicks logged a career-high 46 innings in the major leagues and held a modest 5.48 ERA with a 1.63 WHIP. During this stint, he tallied 42 punchouts and served up 20 walks. Fantasy managers should expect the former 21st overall pick to be in the mix to return to the majors later in the campaign when the Cubs need additional depth in their rotation. Through 66 2/3 career innings at Triple-A, Wicks has held a 4.32 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP.Source: MiLB.com
The Chicago Cubs have optioned left-handed pitcher Termarr Johnson Tallies Two Hits In Return
Termarr Johnson (knee) went 2-for-5 with a double during their contest against Double-A Somerset on Monday. Johnson suffered a minor knee injury on Friday. However, this is a great sign as Johnson was only held out of action over the weekend, which suggests the injury was not very serious. Through the first 12 games of the Double-A regular season, Johnson has held a .245/.351/.347 slash line with two doubles and one home run. Johnson has swiped five bags and held an impressive 9:8 K:BB. Last summer, the former fourth overall pick spent most of the campaign with High-A and held a modest .238/.372/.385 before earning a brief taste of Double-A. Fantasy managers should expect Johnson to spend most of the campaign at Double-A before earning a late-season look at Triple-A.Source: MiLB.com
Pittsburgh Pirates infield prospect Zach Dezenzo Busy In Monday's Victory
Zach Dezenzo went 2-for-3 with two runs, one RBI, and a walk during their 7-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. In the fifth inning, Dezenzo would hit an RBI double to right field, which scored outfield prospect Cam Smith. He would then come around and score on a Jose Altuve double. Later in the seventh, Dezenzo would hit his second double of the contest and would score his second run on a Yordan Alvarez single. The 24-year-old was able to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster but has had a limited role in the Houston offense. Through just eight games this season, Dezenzo has held a .222/.300/.333 line. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but it appears Dezenzo will have his fantasy upside limited due to his unstable playing time.Source: MLB.com
Houston Astros first base/outfield prospect Craig Yoho Allows One Run In MLB Debut
Craig Yoho allowed one run during his MLB debut on Monday evening. Yoho entered the game in the eighth inning. He proceeded to strike out the first batter he saw, Heliot Ramos. However, he then allowed a walk to LaMonte Wade Jr. and a single to Wilmer Flores. Wade would eventually score on a double play later in the frame. This is a strong debut for Yoho, who just joined the MLB roster prior to Monday's contest against the Giants. Earlier in the summer, Yoho tossed nine 2/3 shutout innings with Triple-A. During this stint, he allowed five hits, three walks, and struck out nine hitters. Last summer, he held a 1.26 ERA across 14 1/3 innings with an 18:9 K:BB at Triple-A. He has been in a bit of a slump at the plate of late, hitting just .179 with no homers and six strikeouts over his past seven games. That being said, Chourio posted a 20/20 season as a 20-year-old rookie in 2024 and should continue to show improvement in his second MLB season. Fantasy managers will want to stay patient with him as he works through his current slump.Source: MLB.com
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Caleb Durbin Homers In Loss Monday
Caleb Durbin turned in a productive game in a 5-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Monday. Durbin went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer to provide the only offense for the Brewers in the loss. The rookie infielder now has his first MLB homer under his belt as he launched a 375-foot blast off Giants starter Robbie Ray in the second inning. Durbin was just recalled from Triple-A last week and has posted a .200 average, three runs, three RBI, and a steal across 15 at-bats. He has plenty of speed and is worth monitoring in fantasy in case he's able to reach base consistently as Milwaukee's regular third baseman.Source: MLB.com
Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Edwin Diaz Earns Save On Monday
Edwin Diaz secured a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday. Diaz pitched one inning while allowing one run and striking out two to pick up his sixth save of the season. It was a rocky inning for Diaz and the Mets as he allowed a three-run homer to Bryson Stott, with two of the runs being charged to reliever Max Kranick. Diaz now has a 1-0 record, 5.59 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 15 strikeouts over 9 2/3 innings of work on the season. He remains perfect in six save chances, despite the ugly ERA. Vest has been one of the top relievers in baseball in the early going, but he remains No. 2 in line for save chances behind veteran Tommy Kahnle. That being said, his low ERA and WHIP still give him some fantasy value in deeper leagues that count holds.Source: MLB.com
Detroit Tigers right-hander Justin Slaten Picks Up Save On Monday
Justin Slaten preserved a 4-2 win over the Chicago White Sox on Monday. Slaten pitched a scoreless ninth inning while not allowing a baserunner and notching one strikeout to pick up the save. The 27-year-old hurler is perfect in three save chances this season while adding a 4.00 ERA, 0.56 WHIP, and eight strikeouts over nine innings of work on the season. Slaten and left-hander Ardolis Chapman remain part of a committee in Boston as the latter got the hold while allowing a one-run eighth inning. Both relievers hold some fantasy value, although they might provide an occasional headache while siphoning save chances away from each other.Source: MLB.com

Stott is now hitting .295 with two homers, 12 runs, 13 RBI, and four steals across 78 at-bats this season.
