6 months agoBrendson Ribeiro picked up a split decision win over Caio Machado at UFC Edmonton to get his first UFC win. The Brazilian entered the fight as the underdog and he was outstruck in all three rounds. However, all three rounds were super close and two of the judges though he did enough to win. With the victory, Ribeiro improved to 16-7 as a pro and 1-2 in the UFC. He likely saved his UFC job with the win.Source: UFC
Amir Albazi Falls Short At UFC Edmonton
6 months agoAmir Albazi suffered a clear-cut decision loss to Brandon Moreno in the main event of UFC Edmonton on Saturday. Albazi entered the fight being 5-0 in the UFC and riding a six-fight winning streak. But, Albazi struggled on the feet as he was outstruck in all five rounds and went just 1-for-4 on his takedowns. With the loss, Albazi fell to 17-2 as a pro and 5-1 in the UFC. He should fight someone below him in the rankings next as had he won, he could have been in a title eliminator fight.Source: UFC
Brandon Moreno Dominates At UFC Edmonton
6 months agoBrandon Moreno picked up a clear-cut decision win over Amir Albazi in the main event of UFC Edmonton. Moreno ended his brief hiatus from MMA and looked good early on. He outstruck Albazi 18-to-16 in the first round but took over in the second round outstriking Albazi 29-to-6. Moreno outstruck Albazi in every single round as he cruised to a clear-cut decision win. With the win, Moreno improved to 22-8-2 as a pro and is 10-5-2 in the UFC. The Mexican is likely a win away from a title shot at flyweight.Source: UFC
