Spencer Strider Has Grade 1 Hamstring Strain
Spencer Strider (hamstring) has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. Mark Bowman of MLB.com noted that this is the "mildest" of strains, but will still take some time to heal. In addition, Bowman reported that Strider's timetable will likely be determined over the next few weeks. Strider made his season debut last Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays but was shortly placed on the injured list again, this time with a hamstring injury. Strider was only able to make two starts in 2024 before undergoing an internal brace procedure. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status but should expect the 25-year-old to miss at least the next two weeks. While he remains sidelined, AJ Smith-Shawver could be recalled from Triple-A to serve as a depth option in the rotation.Source: Mark Bowman
Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Masyn Winn Officially Reinstated And Starting On Tuesday
Masyn Winn (back) from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday and optioned center fielder Michael Siani to Triple-A Memphis in a corresponding move, according to the team. Wynn is starting at shortstop and is batting ninth on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves and right-hander Scott Blewett at Camden Yards. The 23-year-old will return to the Cards lineup after a minimal stay on the IL after dealing with mild lower-back spasms. As long as he continues to reside at the bottom of St. Louis' batting order, he won't have a ton of fantasy upside for managers in deep-mixed leagues. The former second-rounder has also gotten off to a slow start in 2025 offensively, batting .222 (10-for-45) with a homer, three RBI and eight runs scored in his first 13 games played.Source: MLB.com - John Denton
The St. Louis Cardinals officially activated shortstop Mark Vientos Returns To Mets Lineup
Mark Vientos (groin) is back at third base and is batting cleanup for Tuesday's contest against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies and left-hander Cristopher Sanchez at Citi Field. Vientos injured his groin on Saturday against the St. Louis Cardinals and missed two games as a result, but he'll return for Game 2 of the series against the Phils and will be looking to break out of his early-season slump at the plate. The 25-year-old comes into Tuesday's game hitting just .167 (12-for-72) with two home runs, six RBI, seven runs and 14 strikeouts in 20 games played. He's also gone hitless in seven career at-bats against Sanchez, who has looked very sharp early on in 2025, so we'd suggest that fantasy managers keep Vientos on the bench for at least another day. Before going hitless on Saturday, though, Vientos had a six-game hitting streak, including both of his home runs.Source: MLB.com
New York Mets third baseman Keibert Ruiz Hitting Cleanup For The Nationals On Tuesday
Keibert Ruiz is batting cleanup for the Nationals on Tuesday against the Orioles. The switch-hitter is off to a solid start for the Nats, hitting safely in 16 of 19 games thus far, slashing .306/.359/.417 with a .346 wOBA and 121 wRC+, putting himself within the top 10 fantasy players at the position to this point. The 26-year-old owns a 10.3 percent strikeout rate in 2025, even better than his strong career mark of 11.0 percent, so he's very adept at putting the bat on the ball. Hitting fourth should afford a better shot at RBIs on Tuesday, and going up against the Orioles' Dean Kremer, who has allowed 13 earned runs in three road starts thus far (14 1/3 IP, 8.16 ERA), should put him under consideration for use in DFS lineups.Source: Washington Nationals
Washington Nationals catcher Heston Kjerstad Back In Action Against Nationals
Heston Kjerstad (elbow) is starting in left field and is batting sixth on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals and left-hander Mitchell Parker at Nationals Park. Kjerstad will be available for the series opener against the Nats after sitting on Sunday following a bruised elbow that he suffered on Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds. While Kjerstad has been swinging the bat well early in the season for the O's, fantasy managers may want to look elsewhere in DFS while he faces a left-hander on Tuesday. He's gone 2-for-7 against southpaws early on, but all three of his home runs and all but one of his 12 RBI this year have come against right-handed pitchers. The 26-year-old outfielder enters Tuesday's contest slashing .261/.300/.500 with three homers, 12 RBI and nine runs scored in his first 18 games for Baltimore.Source: MLB.com
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Ben Rice Back For Yankees On Tuesday
Ben Rice (elbow) is back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Cleveland Guardians and right-hander Tanner Bibee at Progressive Field, serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff. Rice suffered a left-elbow contusion after being hit by multiple pitches on Saturday and didn't play on Sunday or for Monday's series opener against Cleveland. The 26-year-old left-handed slugger is back in there on Tuesday, though, and fantasy managers will want to get him back in their starting lineups against a right-handed pitcher. Early on in 2025, Rice has looked like he's primed for a breakout season, hitting .288 (19-for-66) with five home runs, nine RBI, 14 runs scored and two stolen bases as the team's primary DH with Giancarlo Stanton (elbows) out for the foreseeable future. Rice has never faced Bibee in his career.Source: MLB.com
As expected, New York Yankees first baseman Bryse Wilson To Serve As Bulk Reliever On Wednesday
Will Venable said that right-hander Bryse Wilson will serve as the team's bulk reliever after an opener for Wednesday's game against the division-rival Minnesota Twins. Wilson threw a season-high three innings in relief back on April 4 against the Detroit Tigers and might be asked to go around that length in Wednesday's game, but he still won't be worth streaming in any fantasy leagues. The 27-year-old reliever has made nine appearances out of the bullpen so far in his first year in Chicago in 2025 and is sporting a 4.50 ERA (6.79 FIP) and 1.58 WHIP with three walks and eight strikeouts in 12 innings pitched. Wednesday's start was originally lined up to be veteran left-hander Martin Perez's (elbow) day, but he's now on the 60-day injured list.Source: MLB.com - Scott Merkin
Chicago White Sox manager Agustin Ramirez Draws Another Start, Batting Fourth On Tuesday
Agustin Ramirez will get another start behind the dish on Tuesday and will bat cleanup. The 23-year-old made his MLB debut on Monday and went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run scored, and a stolen base. The double registered at 110.4 mph off the bat, displaying the power that the 6-foot-1 backstop brings to the table, and the stolen base made good on the baserunning prowess he's shown during his time in the minors. Liam Hicks will sit for the third straight game and could become the backup to Ramirez if the latter continues to hit. Ramirez is worth adding in most leagues given his stolen-base potential at the catcher position, and his dual eligibility at both C and 1B on Yahoo! provides some added fantasy appeal.Source: Miami Marlins
Miami Marlins catcher Kerry Carpenter Back In Detroit's Lineup
Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) is back in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday for Game 2 of their series against the visiting San Diego Padres at Comerica Park. Carpenter is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff against Padres right-hander Nick Pivetta. The 27-year-old Carpenter was pulled from Sunday's game with right-hamstring soreness and was also held out of Monday's win over the Padres, but he's back in there now, and fantasy managers should return him to their starting lineups. He has never faced Pivetta in his career, but he's been producing regularly for his fantasy managers in the early portion of the 2025 season, slashing .315/.338/.562 with an .899 OPS, five home runs, 11 RBI and 11 runs scored in 73 at-bats. Carpenter will bring a modest five-game hitting streak into Tuesday's contest against SD.Source: Detroit Tigers
Detroit Tigers outfielder Willi Castro Still Out Against White Sox
Minnesota Twins utility man Willi Castro (oblique) is still not back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's contest against the division-rival Chicago White Sox at Target Field. Brooks Lee will makeread more...
Gabriel Arias Absent From Lineup On Tuesday
Gabriel Arias is out of the starting lineup again on Tuesday as the team continues their series against the visiting New York Yankees. Daniel Schneemann will start at second base and hit eighth against Yankees right-hander Will Warren. It's the second time in the last three games that Arias has started on the bench for Cleveland. The 25-year-old hasn't been bad to start the 2025 season, as he came into Tuesday's game hitting .277/.333/.508 with an .841 OPS, four home runs, 10 RBI and a stolen base in 72 plate appearances for the Guardians. If the Venezuelan infielder isn't dealing with an injury, we'd expect him to be back in Wednesday's lineup in Cleveland. Schneemann is batting .219 (7-for-32) with two homers and three RBI in his first 13 games of 2025. He'll be a low-upside DFS option against a pitcher he's never faced.Source: MLB.com
Cleveland Guardians second baseman Brandon Young Recalled From Triple-A Norfolk
Brandon Young was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday. The 26-year-old made his major league debut on April 19, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out three in four innings of work. The O's do not have a scheduled starter for Friday's game against Detroit, so Young could be an option there. The 6-foot-6 hurler has looked good through three starts at Triple-A this season, posting a 2.76 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a 2:17 BB:K through 16 1/3 innings pitched. The righty could be used in AL-only formats, but may not be a great streamer otherwise, as the Tigers are top 10 in runs scored per game in 2025 despite being bottom 10 in strikeouts per game. Reliever Cody Poteet was placed on the 15-day IL in a corresponding move.Source: Baltimore Orioles
Baltimore Orioles pitching prospect Spencer Steer On The Bench Tuesday, Jeimer Candelario At First Base
Spencer Steer will cede starting first base duties to corner infielder Jeimer Candelario on Tuesday. Steer had started the last two games at first for the Reds while Candelario was on the bench. Neither player has been very productive thus far, with Steer registering a .195 wOBA and 14 wRC+ over 70 plate appearances (PA), while Candelario has a .221 wOBA and 31 wRC+ over 70 PA. The switch-hitting Candelario will go up against the Marlins' RHP Edward Cabrera on Tuesday in Miami, with the 31-year-old going 3-for-4 with a double, home run, and no strikeouts in his career versus the righty. Despite his struggles this season, that type of matchup history could make Candelario a viable DFS play for this contest.Source: Cincinnati Reds
Cincinnati Reds infielder/outfielder Lane Thomas To Be Placed On 10-Day Injured List
Lane Thomas will be placed on the 10-day IL with a bone bruise in his right wrist. The 29-year-old missed a week earlier this month after getting hit by a pitch and was 2-for-15 since his return to the lineup on April 15. The right-handed hitter was off to a poor start to the season as it was, slashing .156/.188/.178 with no home runs and one stolen base over 13 games, registering a .168 wOBA and a wRC+ of 3. Coming off a 15-home run and 32-stolen base campaign in 2024, fantasy managers were hoping for some cross-category production from the seven-year pro, but those hopes will be put on hold for now, and hopefully, he can get going once he returns. Infield prospect Will Wilson was recalled from Triple-A and will make his major league debut whenever he makes his first appearance in a game. Source: Guards Insider
Cleveland Guardians outfielder Nathan Wiles Called Up From Triple-A
Nathan Wiles to the major-league roster and released right-hander Amos Willingham in a corresponding move. The Braves also optioned right-hander Michael Peterson to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday night. In what will be his MLB debut, Wiles could be used as the team's bulk reliever following an unnamed opener on Tuesday at Truist Park against the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. Atlanta is having to pivot after Tuesday's original scheduled starter, right-hander Spencer Strider (hamstring), landed on the injured list on Monday. The 26-year-old Wiles had a nice 0.64 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with 15 strikeouts and five walks in 14 innings over three starts to begin the year at Gwinnett, but fantasy managers should look elsewhere for a deep-sleeper streamer on Tuesday.Source: Atlanta Braves
The Atlanta Braves announced on Tuesday that they selected the contract of right-hander
