3 weeks agoThe Buffalo Bills agreed to terms to re-sign safety Damar Hamlin on an undisclosed one-year deal, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Hamlin, who famously went into cardiac arrest on the field against the Cincinnati Bengals on a Monday night game in 2022, will stick around in Buffalo for a fifth season after collecting 89 tackles (62 solo), his first two career interceptions, a career-high five pass breakups and a fumble recovery in 14 regular-season starts in 2024. At the very least, the 26-year-old defensive back will provide depth in Buffalo's secondary, but depending on what the team does the rest of the offseason, Hamlin could be in line to start at safety in 2025. The former sixth-round pick in 2021 out of Pittsburgh has 184 career tackles (129 solo), 1.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, two interceptions, nine pass breakup, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in his four seasons.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
3 weeks agoThe Tennessee Titans are signing former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Van Jefferson to a one-year deal worth up to $2.5 million. Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports reported the news. The former Florida Gator spent one season in Pittsburgh, accumulating just 24 receptions, 276 yards, and two touchdowns in 17 games. Jefferson played the second-most snaps of all Steelers wideouts with 755 (George Pickens). The 28-year-old has eclipsed 370 receiving yards only once in his career (in 2022 with the Rams) but figures to slot in as the team's second WR behind incumbent primary option Calvin Ridley. He'll now vie for targets with fellow wideouts Tyler Boyd and Treylon Burks and tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo. Jefferson regularly disappeared last season, recording one catch or fewer in nine appearances, and will be difficult to trust as a viable fantasy option in 2025 despite the change of scenery.Source: Jordan Schultz
3 weeks agoThe NFL's Ian Rapoport reports that the Buffalo Bills are signing former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi on a one-year, $8.3 million deal with $8 million guaranteed. The agreement has a maximum value of $10 million, including incentives. The eighth-year pro is finally leaving the AFC North, as he also spent one season in Cincinnati after being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Ogunjobi ranked fifth in snaps across Pittsburgh's entire defensive front a season ago, registering 41 tackles and 1.5 sacks in 15 games of work. Buffalo allowed 117.7 rushing yards per contest in 2024 (13th-fewest), and it appears they're looking to improve upon that metric in 2025 as the 30-year-old joins newly-signed defensive ends Joey Bosa and Michael Hoecht on the Bills' roster.Source: Ian Rapoport
3 weeks agoThe Detroit Lions have signed former Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Roy Lopez to a one-year, $4.65 million deal. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported the news. Lopez, 27, spent his last two seasons in Arizona, racking up 70 tackles and one sack across 30 games played. The former sixth-round pick notched the second-most snaps of the Cardinals' interior defensive linemen, though he eclipsed 50% of snaps in just five of 16 appearances. Lopez projects to serve primarily as a depth piece for Detroit as they attempt to make the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance in 2025. He'll join a defense that let up the sixth-fewest rushing yards per game in 2024 (103).Source: Tom Pelissero
3 weeks agoAccording to ESPN's Field Yates, the Kansas City Chiefs have restructured quarterback Patrick Mahomes' contract, effectively freeing up cap space to sign recent free-agent acquisitions. Per Yates, the Chiefs also tweaked defensive tackle Chris Jones' contract, adding $49.446 million to their 2025 salary cap. This smart move allowed Kansas City to comfortably sign defensive back Kristian Fulton and offensive tackle Jaylon Moore and should afford them some cushion to pursue others. The Chiefs fell shy of repeating their Super Bowl success for the third straight season, but they'll continue to retool their roster in an effort to get back to the big game this upcoming year. Despite Mahomes' on-field success, it hasn't correlated to fantasy lineups over the last few years. In 2024, the Texas Tech product set a career low with 3,928 passing yards while matching the lowest passing TD figure of his eight-year career (26) and tossed double-digit interceptions for the fourth-straight season.Source: Field Yates
3 weeks agoFive-time Pro Bowl defensive end Joey Bosa reached an agreement on Tuesday night on a one-year, $12.6 million deal with the Buffalo Bills, a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. Bosa will essentially replace veteran pass-rusher Von Miller, who was cut by the Bills over the weekend. The 29-year-old former third overall pick by the Chargers in 2016 out of Ohio State had offers from the San Francisco 49ers (he could have joined forces with his brother Nick) and the Miami Dolphins, but he ultimately chose to head to the AFC East to join a Bills team that came very close to advancing to the Super Bowl last year. Bosa has 62 sacks in nine NFL seasons as a premier pass-rushing talent, but injuries have slowed him down in recent years and made him a shell of his former self. He's no longer a must-draft in IDP leagues and could serve in a rotational role in Buffalo alongside Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
3 weeks agoThe NFL announced the 35 compensatory picks on Tuesday for the 2025 NFL draft this April, with the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens having the most with four each. In total, 35 selections were awarded to 15 teams. The Los Angeles Chargers, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks each have three compensatory picks. Under the league rules for compensatory picks, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks. They are positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost. Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors.Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
3 weeks agoThe Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec reports that the Baltimore Ravens are releasing both cornerback Arthur Maulet and safety Marcus Williams. The move to release Maulet will create $2.2 million in salary cap space in 2025. Maulet, 31, was a key member of one of the NFL's best defenses back in 2023, but he only played in three regular-season games last year due to hamstring and knee injuries. Williams, 28, will be officially cut on the first day of the new league year on Wednesday, a move that was a formality after the two sides altered his contract in January to facilitate his exit this offseason. Williams began the season as Baltimore's starting safety alongside Kyle Hamilton but eventually lost his starting spot to Ar'Darius Washington and played in only 11 regular-season games. Both Maulet and Williams were considered the team's likeliest salary cap casualties.Source: The Athletic - Jeff Zrebiec

3 weeks agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers are finalizing an undisclosed one-year deal with former Philadelphia Eagles running back Kenneth Gainwell on Tuesday night, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Gainwell will stay in the state of Pennsylvania and become the change-of pace option behind Jaylen Warren after Najee Harris left in free agency to join the Los Angeles Chargers. The 25-year-old will most likely be used more as a third-down option for Pittsburgh in pass-catching situations. In his four years with the Eagles, Gainwell had 280 carries for 1,185 yards (4.2 yards per carry) and 12 rushing touchdowns while adding 102 catches on 138 targets for 721 yards and an addition touchdown in 66 games (four starts). The Steelers still also have running back Cordarrelle Patterson to share the workload. At best, Gainwell will be a low-ceiling RB3/flex in point-per-reception leagues in his new home.Source: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz
3 weeks agoFree-agent wide receiver Trent Sherfield Sr. is signing with the Denver Broncos on Tuesday on a two-year, $8 million deal, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Sherfield will join the Broncos in 2025 after playing in 17 regular-season games (one start) with the Minnesota Vikings last year and catching only eight of his nine targets for 83 yards and one touchdown. The 29-year-old pass-catcher has been with five different teams (Cardinals, 49ers, Dolphins, Bills and Vikings) in the last five seasons, with his best year coming in 2022 with Miami, when he posted a 30-417-2 line in 17 games (four starts). The Vanderbilt product spent the first three years of his NFL career in Arizona before bouncing around on a year-to-year basis. Sherfield is unlikely to make much noise with the Broncos next season while competing for a secondary role with the likes of Marvin Mims Jr., Devaughn Vele and Troy Franklin.Source: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz

3 weeks agoFormer Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson signed a two-year, $9.5 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday that includes $6 million fully guaranteed, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Robinson will remain in the NFC West after spending the last two seasons with the Rams. In 33 regular-season games (21 starts) for L.A., Robinson caught 57 of his 103 targets for 876 yards and 11 touchdowns. The 30-year-old had a career year in 2024, setting career-highs in receiving yards (505) and touchdowns (seven) while catching 31 of his 64 targets over 17 regular-season starts. In the Bay Area, he'll help make up for the loss of Deebo Samuel Sr., who was traded to the Commanders. Fantasy managers should definitely expect regression in the touchdown department, and he's likely to open the year as the No. 4 behind Brandon Aiyuk (knee), Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall, depending on Aiyuk's recovery from a torn ACL.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
3 weeks agoFormer Carolina Panthers safety Xavier Woods has signed a new two-year, $10 million deal with the Tennessee Titans. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news. Woods spent the last three seasons in Carolina, leading the team in tackles with 119 in 2024. Perhaps most impressively, he started all 17 games and played 100% of Carolina's defensive snaps (1,218). The former sixth-round pick will now join his fourth team since being selected by Dallas in the 2017 NFL Draft and should provide a sure-tackling asset for the Titans while working in tandem with fellow safety Mike Brown, who is returning to the team on a one-year deal. Tennessee still has some work to do on the offensive side of the ball, but they've shored up a defense that allowed the third-fewest yards per game in the league a season ago (311.2).Source: Adam Schefter
3 weeks agoPer Kevin Patra of NFL.com, New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore is excited to team up with quarterback Derek Carr for the 2025 season. "I think we've been consistent through this whole process," Moore said. "We feel really good about Derek, and we're excited to team up with him...We want him here, and it'll be a good situation." The Saints' new head coach also noted he believes that the veteran can improve from last year's injury-plagued season. Carr and New Orleans started 2024 on fire, scoring 44+ points in each of their first two contests. However, it was all downhill from there, as the team imploded and the 33-year-old dealt with abdomen and hand injuries that forced him to miss seven games. If the Fresno State alum can stay healthy, he'll undoubtedly be more productive this upcoming season. The vote of confidence from his head coach is nice, but he projects as nothing more than a middling QB2 and potential streaming option regarding fantasy.Source: Kevin Patra
