3 days agoNew Orleans Saints running back Jamaal Williams (groin) is officially listed as doubtful for the team's Week 9 road tilt against the Carolina Panthers. Williams logged a week of limited practice sessions due to a groin injury he picked up, and his status this Sunday is not looking good. With teammate Kendre Miller (hamstring) ruled out for the contest, running back Alvin Kamara could be the only show in town in the Saints' backfield when they line up against their division rivals. Even if Williams suits up, he won't be a recommended fantasy play, as he's no more than a change-of-pace option behind Kamara. Expect hybrid offensive weapon Taysom Hill to chip in as well, especially if the 29-year-old is inactive.Source: John Hendrix
3 days agoLos Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins will look for another good week in a Week 9 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Dobbins was solid against the New Orleans Saints in a Week 8 win, putting up 57 yards and a touchdown on the ground to go with four catches on seven targets through the air. It wasn't his most effective game on a per-touch basis, but his continued heavy involvement in both parts of the offensive game plan is encouraging. Dobbins was given Thursday off this week, as he missed practice for a rest day, but he enters the game with no injury designation after returning to a full practice on Friday. Dobbins is a steady and reliable RB2 option with weekly RB1 upside, especially with the Chargers offense finally starting to move the ball well over the past couple of games.Source: RotoBaller
3 days agoNew Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Miller made his return to the field in Week 7, but that didn't last too long. He rushed for 52 yards on nine carries over the last two games. Alvin Kamara is getting the bulk of the carries right now anyway. Miller might be worth holding because the Saints are banged up, but he's unlikely to have a big role in the offense going forward.Source: Ian Rapoport
3 days agoMiami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle enters Week 9 having only scored 10-plus PPR points in one game in 2024. Even with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) returning to the lineup last week, he could only record four receptions on six targets for 45 yards. To add insult to injury, Waddle has yet to score a touchdown through seven games. This week presents a tough matchup against a Buffalo Bills defense that gives up the sixth-least fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Waddle has been held to eight catches for 87 yards in the last two appearances against Buffalo. Making matters worse is the fact that temperatures are projected to drop into the thirties in Orchard Park on Sunday. It wouldn't be surprising if he has another disappointing performance this week. Despite the tough matchup, Waddle is WR27 in the latest RotoBaller rankings, making him a high-end WR3 against the Bills for Week 9.Source: RotoBaller
3 days agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Carr is set to make his return to the field after being sidelined for the last three games. The return of Carr is good news for the Saints offense as they struggled heavily with Spencer Rattler under center. Chris Olave should be able to return to his WR2 value while Carr is a high-end QB2 against the awful Panthers defense.Source: Ian Rapoport
3 days agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert will look to build off his strong performance in Week 8 as he heads into a Week 9 game against the Cleveland Browns. Herbert had his first fantasy QB1 game of the season in Week 8, putting up 24.1 fantasy points in standard scoring leagues for an overall QB9 finish. Herbert has been playing well most of the season but hadn't been asked to do much in what was an extremely run-heavy offense. He's thrown more in the past two games, however, and could be continuing that pattern against an average at best Cleveland secondary. With several of his pass catchers expected to be back and fully healthy this week, it could be a second QB1 performance in a row for the Bolts signal caller.Source: RotoBaller
3 days agoNew Orleans Saints defensive back Marshon Lattimore (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of the upcoming Week 9 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Lattimore has been battling a hamstring issue for a few weeks now. He was attempting to play through the issue, but the team will opt to sit him out this weekend. The Saints will also be without Kool-Aid McKinstry (hamstring) and Paulson Adebo (leg) is on the injured reserve. That means, the Saints are going to be down to their second or possibly third string defensive backs for this weekend.Source: Jeff Nowak
3 days agoMinnesota Vikings tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee) has been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 9 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. That means, Hockenson is set to make his season debut this weekend. He figures to be a significant part of the offense after hauling in 95 receptions for 960 yards, and five touchdowns during his first full season with the team last year. There's a chance that Hockenson is limited during his first game back, but should still be in the TE1 conversation for Week 9.Source: Tom Pelissero
3 days agoCincinnati Bengals running back Zack Moss (neck) is listed as doubtful ahead of the Week 9 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Moss has taken a backseat in the backfield over the last few weeks. He has seen six carries or less in three straight games for 13 yards or less in all those contests. Fellow back Chase Brown has run away with the lead back job in Cincinnati. If Moss sits, Brown would probably see a few more carries coming his way this weekend. He'll be on the RB2 radar against the struggling Raiders team.Source: bengals.com
3 days agoLos Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of the Week 9 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Nacua left early during Thursday's practice after aggravating his knee issue that sidelined him earlier in the season. The good news is that it sounds like Nacua has avoided any serious injuries. However, head coach Sean McVay said he wouldn't bet on Nacua being able to suit up this weekend. The Rams are going to be careful with their prized young wideout, so fantasy managers shouldn't be shocked if he sits out. If active, Nacua will be a risky WR2 given he probably won't be 100 percent healthy. Fellow wideout Cooper Kupp will likely see a heavy workload if Nacua is unable to play.Source: Sarah Barshop
3 days agoTennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis (shoulder) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's tilt against the New England Patriots according to Paul Kuharsky. Levis has been able to participate in practice in a limited capacity this week which is a promising sign for his status heading into the weekend. The 25-year-old has been sidelined over the past two weeks. If Levis were to miss his third-straight game, Mason Rudolph would get the starting nod. Rudolph has eclipsed 200 passing yards in each of his past two games with a season-high of 266 last weekend against the Detroit Lions. Both options would be viewed as low-end QB2s facing a tough New England who have allowed the eighth-fewest points to opposing QBs this season.Source: Paul Kuharsky
3 days agoCleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's tilt against the Los Angeles Chargers. Njoku was sidelined during Thursday's practice but was able to return on Friday. As a result, this could have simply been a scheduled day off for the tight end as he missed three games earlier in the season with the same injury. The 28-year-old has enjoyed the two best of games of his season over the past two weeks averaging an excellent 20.4 PPR points in each of them. Fantasy managers should view Njoku as a solid TE1 in all formats facing the Los Angeles Chargers who have allowed the 21st-most PPR points to opposing wideouts this season.Source: Zac Jackson
3 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers rookie running back Bucky Irving (toe) was not seen at Friday's practice according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times. Irving was also sidelined during Thursday's practice. Fantasy managers should monitor his status during Saturday's practice as he may carry an injury designation into Monday's tilt against the Kansas City Chiefs. The rookie running back has been dealing with this lingering injury for the past few weeks but has yet to miss any time due to it. If Irving is able to play he should be expected to split time with Rachaad White facing a tough Kansas City defense who has allowed the fewest PPR points to opposing RBs this season.Source: Rick Stroud
3 days agoNew Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi (abdomen) is listed as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers. It sounds like the rookie center is dealing with a right lower abdominal contusion, which means it wouldn't be shocking if he sits out. Fellow big man Daniel Theis (ankle) is also listed as questionable for Friday's game. Whichever of them is active would see a bigger role otherwise the Pelicans could see forced to use a small-ball rotation on Friday.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoLos Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams looks to continue his stellar play in Week 9 against the Seattle Seahawks. He has scored a touchdown in every game this season and eclipsed 15 PPR points in seven out of eight weeks. The 24-year-old now gets an enticing matchup against Seattle's defense, one of the worst in the league at defending the run. For context, they allow the sixth most PPR points per game to opposing running backs. In recent weeks, James Cook, Bijan Robinson, and Tyrone Tracy Jr. have all rushed for over 100 yards against them. Cooper Kupp's return to the lineup should continue to create more open boxes for Williams. He should be in all lineups as a slam-dunk RB1 and ranks second overall in this week's RotoBaller running back rankings.Source: RotoBaller
3 days agoCleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (ankle) was seen at Friday's practice according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Njoku popped up on the injury report on Thursday with an ankle injury. This is a great sign to see the tight end back at practice which suggests the injury was minor. Fantasy managers should monitor Friday's injury report in case the 28-year-old will carry an injury designation into the weekend. Njoku is coming off the best game of his season as he brought in five passes for 61 yards and a score. If Njoku is able to suit up, he should be viewed as a solid TE1 in all formats.Source: Mary Kay Cabot
3 days agoNew Orleans Pelicans guard Jordan Hawkins (back) is tagged as questionable ahead of Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers. The Pelicans could be in some trouble with CJ McCollum (groin) and Herbert Jones (shoulder) ruled out for Friday. Hawkins has stepped up and played well with the Pelicans shorthanded, but they'd have a tough time filling the void if he sits out as well. Jose Alvarado and Antonio Reeves could be asked to take on bigger roles if Hawkins is unable to go on Friday.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoCarolina Panthers wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints according to Joe Person of The Athletic. Thielen logged two limited practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday but was sidelined on Friday. The veteran wideout is now in danger of missing his sixth-straight contest. During the first three weeks of the season, Thielen caught at least two passes in each game and averaged 36.3 yards per game. While the 34-year-old remains sidelined, fantasy managers should expect Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker to lead the air attack.Source: Joe Person
3 days agoNew Orleans Pelicans forward Herbert Jones (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers. This marks the second game in a row that Jones will miss due to a right shoulder strain. The absence of Jones should mean that Jordan Hawkins continues getting increased looks in the rotation. He shined on Wednesday as he scored 23 points with four rebounds in 38 minutes of action. He could be worth a look as a streaming option until Jones is able to get back on the court. He should see significant playing time against the Pacers on Friday.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoCarolina Panthers rookie running back Jonathon Brooks (knee) is not expected to play despite being listed as questionable according to David Newton of ESPN. Head coach Dave Canales noted that the rookie running back is progressing well but is not expected to play this weekend. Brooks was able to participate in full during all of the practices this week which is a great sign for his availability heading into Week 10. The Panthers are opting to exercise caution with their former second-round pick who suffered a torn ACL last November. Brooks remains a high-end stash candidate. Chuba Hubbard should be given another heavy dose of work this weekend and is a viable RB2 in all formats.Source: David Newton
3 days agoLos Angeles Lakers guard D'Angelo Russell (back) is listed as probable ahead of Friday's game against the Toronto Raptors. Russell continues to deal with a lower back issues, but it's not expected to keep him out of the lineup. He has been off to a slow start to the season but has the ability to be a legitimate threat because of his shooting ability. He only saw 24 minutes during Wednesday's game, so the Lakers might continue to limit him until he's fully healthy again. Gabe Vincent might see an uptick in playing time on Friday.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (quadriceps) will be listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Higgins was sidelined last week due to the same injury and been unable to participate during the week. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status but the 25-year-old will face an uphill battle to suit up on Sunday. If he misses his second-straight game, Ja'Marr Chase should see a heavy dose of work and be viewed as a high-end WR1. In addition, Andrei Iosivas would become a viable flex option in deeper formats as he should operate as the No.2 pass-catching option for Joe Burrow.Source: Kelsey Conway
3 days agoDenver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon (knee) is listed as probable for Friday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It sounds like Gordon is dealing with a right knee contusion, so fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned. Gordon finished with a season-high 24 points, five rebounds, and two assists during Tuesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. He's off to an excellent start to the season, so hopefully he'll be good to go on Friday. If not, Peyton Watson could be in line for extended run in the rotation.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoMiami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (foot) is expected to play on Sunday according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. Hill was dealing with this foot injury last week but was able to suit up for the weekend's contest. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status over the weekend but should plan on inserting the star wideout in their lineup. Last weekend, Hill brought in 72 yards, his second-highest total since the season-opener. The 30-year-old should be locked into all lineups as a high-end WR1 going forward with Tua Tagovailoa back at the helm.Source: Barry Jackson
3 days agoBuffalo Bills wide receivers Amari Cooper (wrist) and Curtis Samuel (pectoral) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game according to Katherine Fitzgerald of the Buffalo News. Both wideouts were limited participants on Wednesday and Thursday and will now carry an injury designation into the weekend. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor their status. Cooper took a step back last weekend after catching four passes for 66 yards and a score in his Buffalo debut in Week 7. Samuel has been given minimal opportunities in this passing attack so far. If either wide receiver is unable to suit up, fantasy managers should expect Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid to see an uptick in targets.Source: Katherine Fitzgerald
3 days agoNew England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye (concussion) remains in concussion protocol but has not been ruled out for Sunday's game according to Jonathan Jones of CBS. Maye suffered a concussion in their victory over the New York Jets last weekend. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor the 22-year-old's status as he could clear the league's protocol in time for Sunday. In his first two professional starts, Maye eclipsed 200 passing yards in each of them with five total scores. Maye should be viewed as a solid QB2 in all formats if he is able to face the Tennessee Titans. If not, veteran Jacoby Brissett would get the starting nod.Source: Jonathan Jones
3 days agoBaltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (back/knee) was seen at Friday's practice according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. This is a great sign for the 27-year-old who has yet to practice this week due to back and knee injuries. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to Friday's injury report as the superstar quarterback may carry an injury designation in the weekend if he is unable to log a full practice. Jackson has been one of the most productive fantasy QBs once again this season as he has averaged a stellar 29.4 PPR points per game with 19 total scores through eight weeks. If Jackson is unable to play on Sunday, Josh Johnson would get the starting nod against the Denver Broncos.Source: Jamison Hensley
3 days agoJacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. (hamstring) is considered a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles according to Mia O'Brien of 92.5 FM. Etienne has been sidelined over the past two weeks with a hamstring injury and has been able to participate in practice in a limited fashion this week. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progress over the weekend as the Clemson product could be in danger of missing his third-straight contest. If the 25-year-old sits out over the weekend, Tank Bigsby should be in store for another heavy workload. Bigsby has found the end zone twice over the past two weeks and averaged 98.0 rushing yards per game in this span.Source: Mia O'Brien
3 days agoLos Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis (hip) appeared on the injury report on Friday but he's listed as probable. The star big man should be able to suit up against the Toronto Raptors while he's listed with right hip soreness. Most of the time, Davis is listed on the injury report as a formality, so fantasy managers should expect him to play under the probable tag. If, for some reason, he's not able to play, then Jaxson Hayes and Rui Hachimura would see big minutes.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receivers Brian Thomas Jr. (chest) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) are both considered game-time decisions for Sunday's tilt against the Philadelphia Eagles according to Mia O'Brien of 92.5 FM. Thomas was initially expected to miss at least two weeks of action but has been able to practice this week in a limited capacity which is a promising sign. Head coach Doug Pederson expressed that, "He's not going to be 100%, but no one is at this time... we also don't want any set backs" when referring to his rookie wideout. Davis has also participated in practice this week in a limited capacity. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor their status over the weekend. If one of the wideouts has to sit out, Parker Washington could be worth as a deep league flex option as he should be pushed up the depth chart.Source: Mia O'Brien
