10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss was inefficient in the team's Week 14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Moss ran the ball 13 times for 28 yards on the ground and added another 28 through the air. With running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) ruled out for the team's Week 15 contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Moss will again be in line for another large opportunity share. Pittsburgh's defense has struggled against the run as of late, allowing the sixth-most points to opposing fantasy running backs in their last two games. Fantasy managers can look for Moss to bounce back from his poor Week 14 outing and play him as an RB2 option this week.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) missed practice again on Thursday and will miss his third straight game in Week 15 on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's not a big surprise after Taylor was expected to miss three to five weeks after having surgery on his thumb. The Colts are expecting the 24-year-old to be back this year, though, so fantasy managers with something left to play for should keep him stashed with hopes that he can return in Week 16 to face the Atlanta Falcons. Zach Moss has disappointed the last two weeks in the lead-back role for the Colts with Taylor sidelined, but he will have RB1 upside because of the volume alone for the third straight week in fantasy.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is missing from practice on Wednesday for the second straight day this week. Taylor was listed as a non-participant during Tuesday's session as well and it's a near certainty that he'll miss his third straight game following thumb surgery. The Colts are expecting Taylor to return this year, though, so fantasy managers still playing for something should keep him stashed just in case he's able to return next week. With the 24-year-old most likely sitting out this Saturday versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, Zack Moss is in line to serve as Indy's lead back for the third straight week. Moss has been underwhelming the last two games with Taylor out, but the volume increase gives him a solid floor as an RB2 in fantasy against Pittsburgh.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) was listed as a non-participant on Tuesday's estimated practice report. The Colts haven't officially ruled Taylor out for the Week 15 game on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, although the 24-year-old is likely to miss his third straight game following surgery on his thumb on Nov. 29. Fantasy managers need to keep Taylor stashed on their rosters, but they shouldn't expect him back this weekend, and Tuesday's DNP tag supports that notion. Zack Moss is in line to retain lead-back duties for the Colts offense in Week 15, giving him RB2 upside in fantasy. Moss has stepped up for the Colts in 2023, but he hasn't scored since Week 8 and has 2.47 yards per carry on his 32 rushing attempts the last two games with Taylor sidelined.Source: Indianapolis Colts
10 months agoThe Indianapolis Colts can't commit to tight end Jelani Woods (hamstring) being able to return this season. Woods has had multiple hamstring injuries since training camp and hasn't appeared in a game in 2023. The 25-year-old caught 25 passes on 40 targets for 312 yards and three touchdowns as part of a committee approach at tight end in Indy in his rookie campaign, but he hasn't been able to contribute at all this year because of his hamstring injuries. Without Woods in the fold, the Colts continue to employ a committee approach among Kylen Granson, Drew Ogletree, Mo Alie-Cox and Will Mallory. Granson probably has the most upside of the bunch, but fantasy managers should be avoiding this TE situation at all costs.Source: Indianapolis Star - Nate Atkins
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen confirmed to reporters that the plan is for running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) to play again this year. Taylor has missed the last two weeks with a right-thumb injury that required surgery, and his status remains to be determined for Saturday's clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15. The 24-year-old was expected to be out anywhere from three to five weeks, so a return this weekend might be a bit optimistic, but we'll have to see what he does in practices starting on Wednesday. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to play this Saturday, which would mean another weak of Zack Moss serving in a lead-back role for the Colts. Taylor should remain stashed in all fantasy leagues for the time being.Source: FOX Sports - Ben Arthur
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie tight end Will Mallory saw 46 yards on five catches in the team's 34-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The former Miami Hurricane finished second in receiving yards for Indy, falling behind wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. The Colts have utilized several tight ends this season, so there's no certainty that Mallory will keep up this production moving forward. That being said, he may be an interesting name to keep an eye on if he does see additional action. Mallory is currently off the fantasy radar for the team's Week 15 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.Source: ESPN
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs caught all three of his targets for 32 yards in the team's 34-14 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals. This now makes the fourth game in a row where Downs has failed to eclipse over 45 yards. The rookie has provided some decent spark for Indy's passing offense, but the most recent stretch of underwhelming performances might have fantasy managers going in another direction for flex options moving forward. Downs can make for a decent flex option in some deeper leagues in his Week 15 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but managers in smaller formats may want to bench the former Tar Heel until he's gotten back to form.Source: ESPN
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. reeled in eight of his 11 targets for 95 yards in the team's 34-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Pittman led all Colts pass-catchers in targets, and this now marks the fourth game in a row he's gone for over 80 yards. The former USC Trojan's target share and rapport with quarterback Gardner Minshew have made him a weekly starter in most formats. Fantasy managers should look to include Pittman as a WR1/2 in the team's Week 15 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.Source: ESPN
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss ran the ball 13 times for 28 yards in the team's 34-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Moss reeled in four of his eight targets for an additional 28 yards through the air. The fifth-year back once again saw a sizable opportunity share in running back Jonathan Taylor's (thumb) absence but was unable to have much success averaging only 2.2 yards per carry. Most recent reports suggest that Taylor (thumb) will miss the next couple of weeks, in which case Moss will still be worth consideration in lineups moving forward. If Taylor (thumb) is out for the team's Week 15 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, fantasy managers should still look Moss' way for a potential RB3 option.Source: ESPN
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts cornerback Juju Brents (quad) and linebacker E.J. Speed (knee) have both been downgraded to out ahead of Sunday's Week 14 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Both players were listed as questionable on Friday's injury report but have since been downgraded to out. Their absence should provide a small boost to the Bengals' skill players on Sunday.Source: Indianapolis Colts
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs has gone a little bit cold during his impressive first season. In the team's Week 13 win, he reeled in three of his five targets for just 14 total yards. He does find himself with an opportunity to get back on track in Week 14 when the Colts square off against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals have allowed the sixth-most passing yards in the league this season, and Downs has routinely been the second option in terms of targets for Indy behind wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. Fantasy managers can look to start Downs as a WR3/4 option as the former Tar Heel looks to get back on track.Source: RotoBaller
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce had his best outing of the season in the team's Week 13 win against the Tennessee Titans. Pierce served as a big play threat for quarterback Gardner Minshew, reeling in three catches for 100 total yards and a touchdown. Pierce has been quiet this season, averaging a total of 26 yards per game before last week. The second-year receiver has seen plenty of playing time, as he has seen a 95% snap share this season. He now gets ready to face a Cincinnati Bengals secondary who are allowing the sixth-most receiving yards per game. Fantasy managers can look to include Pierce as a potential flex/WR4 option after his most recent showing.Source: RotoBaller
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. has now had back-to-back games with over 10 receptions and 100 yards. Most recently was in Week 13, when Pittman reeled in 11 of his 16 targets for 105 yards and a touchdown in the team's 31-28 win against the Tennessee Titans. He now finds himself with a decent matchup to look to match his previous outings against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals secondary has allowed 254.2 passing yards per game this season, the sixth-highest of any team. With his almost 11 targets-per-game average, fantasy managers can look to start the former USC Trojan as a safe floor-WR2 option with WR1 upside.Source: RotoBaller
11 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss carried the ball 19 times for 51 yards in the team's 31-28 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 13. Despite the lackluster fantasy performance, Moss saw every single one of the team's carries as fellow running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) was unavailable. With Taylor (thumb) ruled out of their Week 14 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals, Moss is in line for another big workload in a slightly more favorable matchup. The Bengals have allowed the sixth most rushing yards per game this season with 133.9, and also have allowed the 15th most points to opposing fantasy running backs this season. With a decent matchup and a sizable workload, fantasy managers can look to include Moss as a solid RB2 option.Source: RotoBaller
