4 days agoAccording to Dan Salomone of Giants.com, quarterback Drew Lock (heel/elbow) was upgraded to a full participant during Thursday's practice. After logging a limited session on Wednesday, Lock is now on track to suit up on Sunday to face the Atlanta Falcons. Lock was unable to suit up last weekend due to these injuries but should be expected to reclaim his starting duties on Sunday. While sidelined, Tommy DeVito got the starting nod and tallied only 68 passing yards during their loss to the Baltimore Ravens before exiting early. In his two previous starts, Lock posted a 51.9% completion rate, averaging 202.5 yards per game with one rushing score. Lock should only be viewed as a desperation QB2 in deep Superflex formats this weekend, facing the Atlanta Falcons, who have allowed the seventh-most PPR points to opposing QBs this season.Source: Dan Salomone
4 days agoAccording to Fox 40 Sacramento's Sean Cunningham, Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis (back) is available to suit up against the Lakers on Thursday. Sabonis has been dealing with a back contusion and was listed as questionable on the King's injury report earlier in the day. The 28-year-old has significantly impacted fantasy, recently registering averages of 23 points, 13.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 35.1 minutes during his last 10 outings.Source: Sean Cunningham
4 days agoTampa Bay Lightning defenseman Janis Moser (lower body) is expected to miss 8-10 weeks of action. He's already been unavailable for a pair of games, and it looks like Moser will have to sit out a couple of months. The 24-year-old has enjoyed a good season among the top-four group in the Lightning defense, recording 10 points (two goals, eight assists), 28 shots, 39 hits, and 19 blocks across 27 appearances. Due to Moser's absence, Darren Raddysh has received a boost in playing time lately. He boasts similar offensive numbers, sitting on nine points (one goal, eight assists) through 21 outings, but offers much less defensively than Moser.Source: Sportsnet
4 days agoAccording to Dan Salomone of Giants.com, rookie running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. (ankle) was a limited participant again during Thursday's practice. Fantasy managers should closely monitor his status during Friday's session as he will likely need to log a full practice to avoid an injury designation for Sunday's game. Tracy has battled a lingering ankle injury throughout the season but he has yet to miss any time due to it. Last weekend, Tracy only logged ten carries as the Giants were trailing heavily throughout. Over his past nine games, the rookie running back has averaged 4.4 yards per carry while scoring 14.1 PPR points per game. If Tracy is able to suit up on Sunday, he should be viewed as a low-end RB2 facing the Atlanta Falcons, who have allowed the 11th-fewest PPR points to opposing running backs this season.Source: Dan Salomone
4 days agoOn Thursday, Phoenix Suns guard/forward Bradley Beal (knee) is available to suit up against the Indiana Pacers. Beal has missed two consecutive contests with swelling in his left knee. He will likely be back in the starting five in place of veteran Royce O'Neale. Before missing the Sun's last two games, the former Washington Wizard averaged 18.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 32.3 minutes during his previous 10 outings.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoAccording to Dan Salomone of Giants.com, wide receivers Malik Nabers (knee/foot) and Wan'Dale Robinson (shoulder) practiced in full on Thursday. Both wideouts were able to upgrade from their limited status on Wednesday, putting them both in a great position to suit up this weekend to face the Atlanta Falcons. Nabers has battled several injuries throughout his rookie campaign. Last weekend, Nabers brought in ten of his 14 targets for 82 yards and a score. Robinson was only able to bring in four of his nine targets for 38 yards. Fantasy managers should monitor their status on Friday in case they face a setback. Nabers should be viewed as a high-end WR2 facing a weak Atlanta secondary, while Robinson is a solid flex option in PPR formats.Source: Dan Salomone
4 days agoAccording to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith (knee) expects to play on Sunday. When asked about his potential availability, he noted that he expects to be available. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status on the injury report in case he faces a setback. Smith suffered this knee injury during last weekend's loss to the Green Bay Packers. However, he opened the week as a full participant in practice, which is a positive sign for his availability. Before exiting last weekend's game, Smith went 15-for-19 with 149 yards and an interception. If Smith can suit up, fantasy managers in Superflex formats should view him as a solid QB2 facing a Minnesota defense that has allowed the 16th-most points to opposing QBs this season. UPDATE: Smith practiced in full again on Thursday.Source: Michael-Shawn Dugar
4 days agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise Brown (shoulder) is off the injury report and set to make his season debut on Saturday evening against the Houston Texans. Brown has been sidelined all season after undergoing shoulder surgery before Week 1. Brown was able to log three consecutive full practices this week suggesting that he is past this injury and ready for a full workload. Fantasy managers should consider adding Brown wherever he is available as he could be a viable flex option over the final weeks of the regular season. Last season, Brown tallied 504 yards and four scores on 51 receptions with the Arizona Cardinals. He is also worth a look in DFS formats this weekend as he will face a Houston secondary that has allowed the eighth-most PPR points to opposing wide receivers this season.Source: Kansas City Chiefs
4 days agoAccording to Chris Fedor of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Isaac Okoro (shoulder) will be sidelined for at least two weeks due to a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder. Okoro posted 12 points, one rebound, one steal and one assist across 20 minutes on Monday versus the Nets before suffering the shoulder injury. While the 23-year-old is out, Dean Wade and Georges Niang will likely see an uptick in minutes on the floor.Source: Chris Fedor
4 days agoAccording to Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Banner, wide receivers Rashod Bateman (foot) and Nelson Agholor (concussion) are listed as questionable for Saturday's divisional matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bateman popped up on the injury report on Wednesday but was downgraded to a non-participant earlier this afternoon. However, seeing him with a questionable tag keeps the door open for him to suit up, even though he may face an uphill battle. Agholor suffered a concussion last weekend during their victory over the New York Giants. He could not practice all week and will need a quick turnaround to clear the league's protocol in time for kickoff. If one of the wide receivers sits out, fantasy managers should expect Zay Flowers to see a start increase in targets as well as tight end Mark Andrews.Source: Jonas Shaffer
4 days agoAccording to Tom Pelissero, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Justin Fields (abdomen) has been ruled out for Saturday's divisional tilt against the Baltimore Ravens. Fields was unable to practice all week after suffering this injury during last weekend's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Even though Russell Wilson has taken the starting role, Fields has occasionally been deployed in rushing situations. Over his past four games, Fields has tallied 58 yards on seven attempts. Fantasy managers should expect Kyle Allen to operate as the No.2 option behind Wilson on Saturday afternoon. Wilson should be viewed as a low-end QB1 facing a Baltimore secondary that has allowed the fifth-most PPR points to opposing QBs this season.Source: Tom Pelissero
4 days agoAccording to Terry McCormick of the Titans Insider, wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (ankle) did not practice for the second straight day on Thursday afternoon. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status during Friday's session, as he could be in danger of missing Sunday's game. After finding the end zone eight times during Weeks 6 through 13 (eight games), Westbrook has just brought in three passes over his previous two games. Last weekend, Westbrook-Ikhine caught two passes for nine yards and did not show any injury concern during the game. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, as he would open up more opportunities for Tyler Boyd if he were to sit out. No.1 wide receiver Calvin Ridley would see the most significant target increase in his absence and could be a viable high-floor flex option facing the Indianapolis Colts.Source: Terry McCormick
4 days agoAccording to Terry McCormick of the Titans Insider, running back Tony Pollard (ankle) was not seen at practice for the second straight day. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status on Friday, as he will likely carry an injury designation after missing the first two practice sessions of the week. Pollard has been dealing with a lingering ankle injury over the past few weeks but was forced out of last weekend's game to it and could have faced a setback. Before leaving, Pollard was able to tally 45 yards and a score. Despite dealing with numerous injuries, he has still averaged a solid 75.3 yards per game since Week 12. If Pollard were to sit out this weekend, Tyjae Spears should be viewed as a high-end RB2 facing the Indianapolis Colts, who have allowed the sixth-most PPR points to opposing RBs this season.Source: Terry McCormick

4 days agoThe New Orleans Saints are still evaluating injured running back Alvin Kamara (groin), but sources are saying it's a possible season-ending injury with only three games left to play with little chance at advancing to the postseason. The Saints are already saying that it's unlikely Kamara will play on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers after he injured his groin in last week's one-point loss to the Washington Commanders. More proof that the 29-year-old could be done for the year is the fact that the Saints signed Clyde Edwards-Helaire for more depth earlier this week. If you haven't already done so, Kamara's fantasy managers need to immediately add Kendre Miller if he's available. Although the Saints are down to rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler as well, the volume Miller sees alone as New Orleans' top back the rest of the way should at least put him in the flex conversation in fantasy leagues.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
4 days agoThe New Orleans Saints announced on Thursday that rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler will make the start on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. This was the expected decision from the Saints after they benched Jake Haener for Rattler in the Week 15 loss to the Washington Commanders. Derek Carr (concussion, hand) is unlikely to play again this year, especially with the Saints unlikely to make the playoffs, so Rattler should start each of the team's final three games of the season. The 24-year-old almost led the Saints to a remarkable comeback against Washington last Sunday, going 10-for-21 for 135 yards and a touchdown. In three starts earlier in 2024, the rookie out of South Carolina completed 59.6% of his passes with a touchdown and two picks. He'll have a tough matchup in Green Bay, and with the lack of weapons around him, he'll be a low-end QB2 play, at best, in fantasy.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
4 days agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) is officially off the Week 16 injury report and is officially good to play on Saturday versus the Houston Texans in Week 16. Mahomes went down late in the Week 15 win over the Cleveland Browns with what the team was calling a mild high-ankle sprain, but he surprisingly was able to practice in full all week from Tuesday through Thursday and will suit up against Houston on Saturday. The two-time MVP most likely won't be as fleet of foot in and outside of the pocket, though, making him more of a midrange QB2, at best, against the Texans this weekend. Mahomes enters the week as the QB9 on the season in overall fantasy points but just hasn't had the previous upside he's had in recent years given all the injuries to KC's receivers. The good news is Mahomes will be getting Marquise Brown (shoulder) in Week 16.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
4 days agoPer the NFL's Tom Pelissero, the Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled out wide receiver George Pickens (hamstring) for this Saturday's divisional clash with the Baltimore Ravens. Pickens has been shelved since popping up as a late-week addition on the team's Week 14 injury report and will miss his third straight contest. It comes as no surprise, considering he put together another week's worth of DNPs ahead of the outing. With the 23-year-old inactive again, wideouts Van Jefferson and Calvin Austin III will work as Pittsburgh's top two options at the position. Mike Williams, Scotty Miller, and Ben Skowronek will rotate in behind them. In Week 15, Williams led that trio by five snaps (15).Source: Tom Pelissero
4 days agoChicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson (concussion) practiced in full for the second straight day this week and is on his way towards clearing the league's concussion protocol and returning to action this Sunday in Week 16 against the division-rival Detroit Lions. Johnson has missed the team's last two games due to a concussion but is trending in the right direction to return this weekend. He still needs final clearance from an independent neurologist later this week, though, to get the final green light to play. Even if Johnson is active against the Lions on Sunday, he won't have any real standalone fantasy value with a lot on the line in leagues this weekend. He's been the clear backup behind D'Andre Swift on game days and hasn't been a reliable producer, although he has chipped in six rushing touchdowns. Perhaps if Chicago's offense was more reliable.Source: Bears Communications
4 days agoThe Houston Texans D/ST looked to be a top-10 fantasy option in Week 16 against the Kansas City Chiefs, but the promising prognosis for quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) is good news for everything but Houston's fantasy outlook. Instead of backup quarterback Carson Wentz, it's business as usual for the 13-1 Chiefs, making the Texans' Saturday at Arrowhead significantly more difficult. Kansas City's offense has run the most plays in the league and ranks inside the top 10 in passing touchdowns, first downs, fewest fumbles lost, and scoring percentage. Even though the Texans have been a productive fantasy defense, this matchup can and should be avoided.Source: RotoBaller
4 days agoJames Boyd of The Athletic reports that Indianapolis Colts tight end Mo Alie-Cox (hip) is not practicing on Thursday. It's the second straight day he'll be tagged with a DNP. The eighth-year veteran suffered his injury late last week, missing Friday's practice, but could still participate in Sunday's 31-13 loss to the Denver Broncos. However, he played on a season-low percentage of snaps (30%). Considering Alie-Cox played after a late-week DNP last week, it's feasible he could do so again in Week 16. Still, it'd be good if he could log at least a limited session ahead of this Sunday. If he is inactive, teammate Will Mallory projects to pick up some more snaps working in behind Kylen Granson and Drew Ogletree.Source: James Boyd
4 days agoNew York Giants outside linebacker Brian Burns (ankle, neck) will not practice Thursday for the second straight day. However, per head coach Brian Daboll, he will play this Sunday when his team squares off against the Atlanta Falcons in a road tilt. ESPN's Jordan Raanan reported the news. The star pass-rusher sustained his ailments in Week 15's 35-14 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Fortunately, though, it appears he's on track to suit up in Week 16 with a few days of rest under his belt. The 26-year-old currently leads his team with 13 tackles for loss and eight pass breakups, ranking second in sacks (eight). Burns has yet to miss a game thus far in 2024, leading all Giants' edge-rushers in snaps.Source: Jordan Raanan
4 days agoThe Philadelphia Phillies signed free-agent reliever Nick Vespi to a minor-league deal on Thursday that includes an invitation to big-league spring training. The 29-year-old left-hander had a 3.88 ERA (4.23 FIP), 1.27 WHIP, 46:13 K:BB and one save in 53 1/3 innings over 45 relief appearances for the Baltimore Orioles the last three seasons and will provide potential depth to Philadelphia's bullpen for the 2025 campaign. Vespi had his best season with the O's last year, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits (one homer) while walking three and striking out nine in 12 2/3 relief innings. However, Vespi was hit around in the minors at Triple-A Norfolk, posting a 7.23 ERA and 2.03 WHIP with 51 strikeouts and 31 walks in 42 1/3 innings. Vespi will not be on the fantasy radar heading into next season.Source: The Athletic - Matt Gelb
4 days agoAccording to ESPN's Ben Baby, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (rest, knee) is not practicing on Thursday. The news comes one day after the wideout was able to log a limited session. It's a concerning development for the 25-year-old, who picked up the issue in his team's win over the Tennessee Titans last Sunday. While he'll still get another chance to elevate his practice status on Friday, fantasy managers may want to prepare a contingency plan in case Higgins can't suit up for Week 16's bout with the visiting Cleveland Browns. If the Clemson product cannot play, fellow wideout Andre Iosivas would operate as the Bengals' de facto No. 2 WR with rookie Jermaine Burton working in behind him.Source: Ben Baby
4 days agoRyan Hamill, the agent for free-agent right-hander Michael Lorenzen, is talking with teams that are interested in signing his client about his two-way abilities. Lorenzen, who turns 33 on Jan. 4, has not hit in a big-league game since 2021 and hasn't had more than one plate appearance in a season since 2019. Hamill is discussing with teams the possibility of getting Lorenzen the necessary plate appearances to qualify for two-way status and then flipping him to a contender that would carry him as a 14th pitcher. A player with two-way designation (only Shohei Ohtani right now) doesn't count against a team's 13-pitcher limit on the 26-man roster. Lorenzen was an All-Star in 2023 and also threw a no-hitter, and he finished with a 3.31 ERA in 130 1/3 innings in 2024 with the Rangers and Royals. The White Sox, Marlins and Rockies could be idea fits for what Hamill is proposing, but it remains to be seen if it will happen.Source: The Athletic - Ken Rosenthal
4 days agoTexas Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien has been an iron man in his career. In his 12-year major-league career, he has played a full 162 games three times and played at least 155 games an additional five times. Semien played in 162 games in 2023 and 159 games last year. The last time he played fewer than 159 games in a full season was with the A's in 2017, when he played in 85 games due to a wrist injury. Semien is entering his age-34 season, though, and hit .237/.308/.391 in 2024, his worst offensive season since the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign. Manager Bruce Bochy said the team has discussed giving Semien some built-in off days and also moving him around in the batting order. Semien's underlying metrics were on par with his recent seasons, so a bounce-back is entirely possible, especially if some more rest days give him more juice for the entire season.Source: MLB.com - Kennedi Landry
4 days agoPer head coach Andy Reid, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) will "most likely end up playing" this Saturday against the Houston Texans. Matt McMullen of the team reported the news. According to McMullen, wide receiver Marquise Brown (shoulder) also has a good chance to play. It's excellent news for the Chiefs as, at the point of Mahomes' injury, he appeared to be a candidate for missed time. With Kansas City still battling for a first-round bye, they're getting healthy at the right time. The 27-year-old will get a tough matchup against a visiting Texans defense that's allowed the sixth-fewest passing yards per game to opponents (196.9).Source: Matt McMullen
4 days agoThe Chicago Cubs' rumored trade talks with the Miami Marlins involving left-hander Jesus Luzardo (back) are "dead," according to 670 The Score's Bruce Levine. Talks were hot between the two clubs on Luzardo, but a deal "doesn't appear to be happening" now. The 27-year-old southpaw was shut down from throwing and placed on the injured list in late June due to back and shoulder issues, and he never returned to pitch for the Fish in 2024, so the Cubs could very well have been scared off by his medicals. He was limited to only 12 starts this past season (66 2/3 innings), and when he was healthy, he took a big step back with a 5.00 ERA and 21.2 percent strikeout rate, which was down from 28.1 percent. Luzardo's numbers likely took a hit due to his injuries, which offers hope he could bounce back in 2025. There remains upside, but keep in mind Luzardo has made 20 starts in a season only once in his career.Source: 670 The Score - Bruce Levine
4 days agoCleveland Guardians first baseman Josh Naylor has been mentioned in trade talks between the Guardians and Seattle Mariners this offseason, according to sources. Naylor is one of multiple names under consideration by the Mariners as they look for an offensive upgrade at first base. Free-agent first baseman Christian Walker is another name that the Mariners could consider as they look for another bat this winter. The 27-year-old Naylor was a first-time All-Star in 2024 and finished with career-highs in home runs (31), RBI (108) and runs scored (84) while stealing six bases and slashing .243/.320/.456 with a .776 OPS in a career-high 152 regular-season games. His drop in average can be attributed to him facing more left-handers over the course of a full season. Repeating his 30-homer season will be difficult, especially if he heads to T-Mobile Park with less protection in the lineup.Source: MLB Network - Jon Morosi
4 days agoNewOrleans.Football's Nick Underhill thinks there's a good chance New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara (groin) doesn't play on Monday night against the Green Bay Packers in Week 16. Kamara suffered an adductor injury in the Week 15 loss to the Washington Commanders, and all signs are pointing to him being held out this week. The Saints just signed Clyde Edwards-Helaire as RB depth earlier this week. Kamara has gone for tests on his injured groin, but interim head coach Darren Rizzi has declined to say if it's a minor or major injury. Underhill says himself to run out and grab Kendre Miller off the waiver wire if he's available in your league if you have Kamara rostered. We'll have a better idea of Kamara's status after the Saints begin practicing this week, but there's at least a good chance he'll miss Week 16 and potentially more, depending on how serious his groin injury is.Source: NewOrleans.Football - Nick Underhill
