10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Joshua Kelley is unlikely to do much in a Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills. Kelley was an afterthought in Week 15, where Isaiah Spiller led the backfield and Austin Ekeler got his work in as well. Kelley ended up with five carries for 22 yards and one catch for six more yards. He's likely in for a similar performance this week, leaving him off the fantasy radar in most formats, especially in a playoff week.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler is a risky fantasy option in Week 16 lineups. The flailing Chargers will face the Buffalo Bills, who need a win to keep up in the AFC playoff race. Last week, Ekeler only played 40% of the team's offensive snaps, turning nine touches into 38 total yards. With a new coaching staff leading the team this week, Ekeler could get back to his lead back role, but with Easton Stick under center, they're unlikely to move the ball much against a strong Bills defense. Ekeler has RB2 upside, but a lower floor than most other ranked around him.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Easton Stick isn't worth starting in most formats for a Week 16 game against the Buffalo Bills. Stick was able to put up a decent fantasy performance last week thanks to some garbage time yardage, but he's been very bad on the field and the Bills defense has been very good against opposing quarterbacks all year long. Stick comes in ranked outside of the top-25 quarterbacks for Week 16, so there are very few leagues where he makes sense anywhere near a starting lineup.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoThe Los Angeles Chargers have ruled out wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) for the Week 16 contest versus the Buffalo Bills on Saturday evening. The Chargers have seemingly thrown in the towel on their 2023 season as they sit in last place in the AFC West after already losing quarterback Justin Herbert (finger) for the year. The 31-year-old Allen will miss his second straight game, which comes at the worst possible time for fantasy managers as they head into a semifinal matchup in Week 16 in most leagues. Joshua Palmer and rookie first-rounder Quentin Johnston both scored touchdowns in last Thursday's blowout loss to the Las Vegas Raiders and should continue to be backup quarterback Easton Stick's top targets in the passing game in a tough matchup against Buffalo.Source: Los Angeles Times - Jeff Miller

10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Donald Parham Jr. (shoulder) practiced fully on Tuesday ahead of his team's Saturday game against the Buffalo Bills. Parham missed his team's Week 15 game against the Las Vegas Raiders with a shoulder injury but appears to be over the injury and in line to take the field in Week 16. Parham will resume his role as the No. 2 tight end behind Gerald Everett heading into Saturday's contest, which leaves him as an uninspiring fantasy option heading into the fantasy semifinals matchups, especially now that backup quarterback Easton Stick is running the Chargers' offense.Source: Chargers on Twitter
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers pass-rusher Joey Bosa (foot), who has missed the last four games while on Injured Reserve due to a foot sprain, was at practice on Tuesday working off to the side with a trainer in shorts and a T-shirt. Bosa is eligible to return from Injured Reserve this week, but it remains to be seen if the Bolts will actually open up his 21-day window, let alone officially activate him from IR in time for him to suit up in Week 16 this Saturday against the visiting Buffalo Bills. The oft-injured 28-year-old isn't going to be rushed back at the very least, though, with the Chargers firmly out of playoff contention and having already lost star quarterback Justin Herbert (finger) for the rest of the year. In IDP fantasy leagues, Bosa is still worth stashing, but you're running out of time to use him in 2023.Source: ESPN.com - Kris Rhim
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) was listed as a non-participant at the team's practice on Tuesday. Allen was seen working on a side field with trainers during practice, but he officially was listed as a DNP for the first session of the week. The 31-year-old was ruled out of last Thursday's beatdown at the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders, and it's unclear if he may need to miss another contest this Saturday against the Buffalo Bills with the Chargers out of playoff contention. Wednesday's practice will be much more important for Allen, so if he misses that, there's a much better chance he'll sit out a second straight game. If Allen is inactive in Week 16, Joshua Palmer, rookie first-rounder Quentin Johnston and Jalen Guyton will operate in three-receiver sets for the second straight week. Both Palmer and Johnston found the end zone last Thursday.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
10 months agoThe Los Angeles Chargers signed quarterback Will Grier off the New England Patriots practice squad on Monday, according to a source. It's the first significant move by interim general manager JoJo Wooden after both head coach Brandon Staley and long-time GM Tom Telesco were fired last Friday following the embarrassing 63-21 loss to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday night. The move gives the Bolts more quarterback insurance behind Easton Stick and rookie Max Duggan with regular starter Justin Herbert (finger) finished for the rest of the season. The 28-year-old Grier never saw the field in New England this year despite the team's struggles at QB, and he hasn't played in an NFL game since his rookie season in 2019 for the Carolina Panthers, when he went 28-for-52 for 228 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions in two starts.Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
10 months agoThe Los Angeles Chargers are firing head coach Brandon Staley and long-time general manager Tom Telesco on Friday, according to a source. The moves come the day after the Chargers were embarrassed in primetime in their 63-21 loss to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. Staley had been on the hot seat in LA since blowing a 27-0 lead in the postseason last year against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Thursday night shellacking by a Raiders team that didn't score at all last week was the final straw for the Chargers decision-makers. The Chargers were playing without star quarterback Justin Herbert (finger) and top wideout Keenan Allen (heel), but the Chargers looked mentally checked out and uninspired in Thursday's performance. The good news for the Bolts is they are currently set up for a high draft pick in 2024.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
10 months agoThe Los Angeles Chargers defense was annihilated by the Las Vegas Raiders in a 63-21 Week 15 loss. They recorded just one sack without getting a turnover and allowed 51 points to a Raiders team that scored zero points just a few days earlier. It was one of the worst defensive performances in the NFL this season, led by "defensive minded" head coach Brandon Staley. The Chargers defense put up a score of negative five, likely knocking some teams out of the fantasy playoffs already despite only one game being played so far this week. They will be far from the fantasy radar going forward and should remain on the waiver wire in almost all leagues for the rest of the year.Source: ESPN.com
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Jalen Guyton made two catches in a tough Week 15 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Guyton saw two targets, catching both for a total of 19 yards. With Keenan Allen (heel) forced to miss the game, there was some thought that Guyton could play a larger role, but he remained a distant option behind rookie Quentin Johnston and the recently activated Joshua Palmer. With the Chargers offense in shambles, Guyton will remain off the fantasy radar for the remainder of the season.Source: ESPN.com
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Quentin Johnston scored another touchdown in a Week 15 annihilation by the Las Vegas Raiders. Johnston was targeted three times, making two catches for 23 yards and a score. His touchdown came on a six-yard pass near the end of the game to bring the game within 42 points. Johnston has had a rough rookie season, but he's started to show some signs of life lately, scoring a touchdown in two consecutive games.Source: ESPN.com
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett made five catches in a 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15. Everett was targeted a team-high eight times, making an also team-high five catches for 41 yards. Everett remains heavily involved in the Chargers passing game, but this offense will be among the worst in the NFL to close out the season, making him a TE2 at best going forward.Source: ESPN.com
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer came off of IR and had a big game in a Week 15 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. Palmer was the lone bright spot in an embarrassing loss for the Chargers on Thursday Night Football. Palmer was targeted four times, catching all four for 113 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown (and most of his yards) came on a 79-yard play where he was waiting wide open for the pass from quarterback Easton Stick. It was a nice return for Palmer, but seeing how this Chargers offense ran, no one in a Chargers uniform can be relied on for fantasy production going forward.Source: ESPN.com
