5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. (groin) is questionable for Sunday's meeting with the New Orleans Saints. The 28-year-old has yet to take the field as a Charger. However, he's moving in the right direction after logging three limited practices throughout the week. Los Angeles is hurting on the offensive side of the ball, with Quentin Johnston (ankle) doubtful and Ladd McConkey (hip) questionable. If Chark is active for this one, he could see limited snaps. But if McConkey and Johnston are ruled out, Chark would enter the flex conversationSource: Los Angeles Chargers
5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers outside linebacker Joey Bosa (hip) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 8 home matchup against the New Orleans Saints this Sunday. While the injury is designated as a hip ailment, it's worth noting that the 29-year-old reported he's dealing with a glute strain that affected his sciatic nerve. Bosa put in a week of limited sessions leading up to the weekend and expects to suit up for the first time since Week 3. He confirmed as such, per Daniel Popper of The Athletic, and also expects to be on a snap count for the contest. It's excellent news for Los Angeles, who is grievously hurting on the opposite side of the ball with five combined wideouts and tight ends listed as questionable or doubtful. Expect the Chargers to reserve him for critical moments, with defensive ends Tuli Tuipulotu, Bud Dupree, and linebacker Junior Colson mixing in to fill the gaps.Source: Daniel Popper

5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston (ankle) is listed as doubtful for the second consecutive game ahead of the team's Week 8 matchup. Johnston sustained an ankle injury during LA's 23-16 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 6. He then went on to log five straight DNPs before being upgraded to limited on Friday. Despite the improvement, there appears still to be a lack of confidence in his health. With fellow wideouts Derius Davis (hamstring) and Ladd McConkey (hip) deemed doubtful and questionable, respectively, the Chargers could be a bit short-staffed when they host the visiting New Orleans Saints this Sunday. Simi Fehoko, Joshua Palmer, and Brenden Rice are currently the only wide receivers not to carry a designation.Source: Daniel Popper
5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer could have some sneaky fantasy value in a Week 8 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Palmer had by far his best game of the season in Week 7 and with other Chargers pass catchers like Ladd McConkey (hip), Quentin Johnston (ankle), and Will Dissly (shoulder) missing multiple practices this week, Palmer could be asked to take on a much bigger role. Going against a Saints defense that is in the middle of the pack for the season but has struggled since Week 5, Palmer has more upside in Week 8 than he's had all season. There's a small concern about his floor, but his ceiling could be quite high and he's only rostered in 13% of leagues right now.Source: RotoBaller
5 months agoThe Los Angeles Chargers defense is an excellent choice in Week 8 fantasy football lineups. Taking on the New Orleans Saints who will almost surely be without quarterback Derek Carr (oblique), the Bolts defensive unit could be one of the highest rated of the week. They slipped a bit in Week 7, scoring just three fantasy points, but they've been a top-12 fantasy defense in every other week but one. With Joey Bosa (hip) potentially ready to return and give the defensive line a boost, the Chargers are a high-floor and high-ceiling option in the DST slot.Source: RotoBaller
5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker is a smart choice in Week 8 fantasy lineups. Dicker finished as the highest-scoring fantasy kicker in Week 7, finishing with a difference-making 21 points after kicking five field goals and accounting for all of the Chargers scoring. He was the sixth overall kicker the week before that, and could easily repeat a top-six performance in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. The Chargers offense has been able to move the ball fairly well, but they've struggled greatly in crossing the goal line, leaving Dicker with plenty of opportunities to put up three points.Source: RotoBaller
5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers rookie running back Kimani Vidal is not a fantasy option in Week 8 when the Bolts take on the New Orleans Saints. Vidal showed a spark in Week 6 but was then mostly uninvolved in Week 7. He's the clear backup to starter J.K. Dobbins, but unless Dobbins misses time, Vidal seems like he'll remain in a backup/change of pace role for now. He's worth rostering and keeping on the bench, but he shouldn't be in a starting lineup outside of the deepest formats.Source: RotoBaller
5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers running back J.K. Dobbins has an excellent matchup in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints. Dobbins is the overall fantasy RB18 so far this season, and that's even with two real duds in Weeks 3 and 4. He's averaging just under 93 yards per game and the Saints defense has allowed the fourth-most rushing yards and the third-most rushing touchdowns per game so far this season. With the backfield pretty much all to himself, Dobbins is a clear RB1 option with a high floor in this matchup.Source: RotoBaller
5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is not an exciting fantasy option in Week 8 lineups. Herbert is coming off his best performance of the season in Week 7, where he scored 14.8 standard fantasy points and finished as the overall QB17. We all know his ceiling is much higher than that based on his talent, but even in a Week 7 game where he did almost nothing wrong, his team was still unable to find the end zone even once. In this offense, Herbert is limited to QB2 status despite his clear QB1 skills. He should be somewhere right around last week's QB17 ranking this week as well.Source: RotoBaller
5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) was sidelined for the second straight day during practice. This is not good to see after Dissly's eight-catch performance in Week 7. Now, Dissly is in danger of missing Week 8 after back-to-back absences. If active, Dissly sneaks onto the TE2 radar against the New Orleans Saints. Otherwise, Hayden Hurst (groin) could be asked to take on a bigger role after he returned to practice on Thursday. However, Hurst hasn't done enough this season to earn the trust of fantasy managers.Source: Daniel Popper
5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receivers Quentin Johnston (ankle) and Ladd McConkey (hip) remained sidelined during practice on Thursday. Both wideouts sat out during Wednesday's initial practice session as well. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor their status on Friday, as they both could be in danger of missing Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints. Johnson sat out during last Monday's game due to an ankle injury, while McConkey is still battling a lingering hip injury. He was able to suit up in Week 7. If both wideouts are unable to play or are limited during Sunday's game against the Saints, Joshua Palmer and tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) should see an increase in targets.Source: Daniel Popper
5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers outside linebacker Joey Bosa (hip) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday to open the week. Bosa has dealt with a litany of injuries over the last four seasons -- the most recent of which prevented him from suiting up since he played just two snaps back in Week 3. It's his first practice in any capacity since he logged a limited session the Friday before LA's 23-16 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 6. An encouraging sign for him and the Chargers' defense. Still, the oft-injured 29-year-old will require monitoring ahead of the team's Week 8 home tilt against the New Orleans Saints. If he is forced to miss yet another game, edge-rushers Tuli Tuipulotu and Bud Dupree and linebacker Junior Colson project to continue to see an uptick in snaps.Source: Los Angeles Chargers

5 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver DJ Chark (groin) was again listed as limited in his team's first practice of the week. It's Chark's fourth straight limited session since the Chargers activated his 21-day practice window last Wednesday. The 28-year-old was placed on Injured Reserve just one day before the team's season opener. He may return to the field this Sunday when LA squares off against the visiting New Orleans Saints. The Chargers could certainly stand to use him, considering fellow wideouts Ladd McConkey (hip), Quentin Johnston (ankle), and Derius Davis (ankle) were all tagged with DNPs on Wednesday, as were tight ends Will Dissly (shoulder) and Hayden Hurst (groin). LA could be looking at a severely depleted pass-catching corps if things don't change in short order. Expect a better indication of Chark's status for Week 8 over the coming days.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
