10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is "feeling good," according to head coach Shane Steichen. The Colts' HC told reporters that "we'll see how this week goes" in terms of the former All-Pro running back returning to practice. Taylor underwent thumb surgery back on November 29 and has now missed three straight games. It's encouraging to hear that he has a chance to practice this week. Indianapolis currently occupies the final Wild Card spot in the AFC with an 8-6 record and would love to get Taylor back in the mix for their Christmas Eve tilt against the Atlanta Falcons. Fantasy managers will want to monitor his status closely this upcoming week.Source: James Boyd of The Athletic
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (arm), who exited during the first half of Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and did not return, had his x-rays come back negative, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. Although Moss isn't dealing with any type of bone break, Garafolo notes that he is having trouble gripping a football, which could obviously impact his availability for Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons. Further complicating this whole dynamic is the lingering injury to Jonathan Taylor (thumb), who has a chance to return next week, too. There's a scenario where both Taylor and Moss play, but there's also a possibility that neither of them suit up. In such a scenario, Trey Sermon would handle the bulk of the carries while Tyler Goodson gets involved in the receiving game.Source: Mike Garafolo
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) was forced to exit early during Saturday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittman took a hard hit during the second quarter, which resulted in the ejection of Steelers safety Damontae Kazee. The Colts have now confirmed that Pittman suffered a concussion from that hit. He will be subject to protocols, which means he could miss their next game against the Atlanta Falcons. The absence of Pittman would probably mean a higher usage for Josh Downs and Alec Pierce in the receiving game.Source: Chris Nowinski
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver D.J. Montgomery was called on to fill in for injured wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) in the team's 30-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Montgomery caught two of his four targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in the team's win. Montgomery had not recorded a stat for the Colts before this week but served as a direct replacement for the injured Pittman (concussion). If Pittman (concussion) is expected to miss additional time, Montgomery may be worth a look on the waiver wire ahead of Week 16.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs caught all three of his targets for 19 yards in the team's 30-13 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Downs did not see much of an additional uptick in volume despite wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) leaving the game in the first half and not returning. Downs has struggled in his last few matchups from a fantasy perspective, and fantasy managers may want to keep him on the bench in the team's Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Trey Sermon was a helpful boost to Indy's offense after running back Zack Moss (arm) left the game with an injury and did not return. Sermon, who hadn't eclipsed five carries in a game this season, ran the ball 17 times for 88 yards in the team's 30-13 win over the Steelers. Second-year running back Tyler Goodson was involved as well, tallying 11 carries. Fantasy managers will want to closely assess both Moss' (arm) and running back Jonathan Taylor's (thumb) injury designations moving forward. Sermon would be worth a pickup if Moss (arm) and Taylor (thumb) are both ruled out of the team's Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew was extremely productive in the team's 30-13 Week 15 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Minshew completed 18 of his 28 passes, for 215 yards and three touchdowns. He also did a great job taking care of the ball, with zero turnovers. Minshew lost his No. 1 target in wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) in the first half and was still able to make due. He will look to continue the momentum into Week 16 when the Colts face off against the Atlanta Falcons.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (arm) has been downgraded to out for the rest of Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Moss scored a touchdown early in the game, but suffered an arm injury on the same play. He was questionable to return, but the Colts decided to hold him out for the rest of the game. Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson should split up the carries for the second half of the contest. The Colts will likely have Moss undergo further testing. Fantasy managers should stay tuned for more information on his status.Source: Adam Schefter
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (arm) is considered questionable to return to Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Moss was able to find the end zone, but suffered an arm injury on a horse collar tackle. It's worth noting that this is the same arm that Moss broke during the preseason. He managed 13 yards on four carries and caught three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown before exiting the game. The Colts will likely lean on the duo of Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson in the backfield with Moss uncertain to return.Source: Stephen Holder
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) won't return to Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittman was taken off the field after taking a scary hit to the head during the second quarter. He was able to get off the field under his own power, but won't return to this game. This is a shame considering how well Pittman was playing before the injury. He hauled in four of his five targets for 78 yards before exiting. Fantasy managers will have to wait and see if he'll be able to suit up for next week's game.Source: Adam Schefter
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie (coach's decision) is a healthy scratch for Week 15 versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Saturday represents the first time this season that McKenzie is inactive. Through his previous 13 games, he totaled 11 catches and 82 receiving yards. Given the 28-year-old's depth role, his absence has no fantasy implications. Michael Pittman Jr. remains the Colts' only must-start receiver with the fantasy playoffs upon us.Source: Indianapolis Colts
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) has a "realistic chance" to return in Week 16 versus the Atlanta Falcons, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The star playmaker hasn't appeared in a game since Week 12 when he broke free for 91 yards and two touchdowns. As soon as he's able to return, he should handle the vast majority of snaps out of the backfield, ranking as a fantasy RB1. While his absence has tested managers' depth, his eventual return will provide those same managers with a huge boost for the peak of the fantasy playoffs. In the meantime, Zack Moss will start at running back against the Steelers this Saturday.Source: Ian Rapoport
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs caught all three of his targets for 32 yards in the team's Week 14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite being a great addition to Indy's passing offense, Downs has struggled from a fantasy perspective the last few weeks as he hasn't eclipsed 70 yards since Week 8. He now gears up to face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15, a team allowing the 15th least fantasy points to the position this season. While Downs' speed and big play ability provide him with a high-ceiling every week, there hasn't been a safe enough floor as of late to trust him for the fantasy playoffs. Fantasy managers can look to start him as a boom-or-bust WR4/5 option this week.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew went 26 for 39 passing for 240 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. While he's done a decent job as the starter for Indy, he hasn't had many weeks in which he has been a top-tier quarterback for fantasy purposes. That likely won't change in Week 15 when the Colts face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh has done a great job containing quarterbacks this season, allowing the seventh-least fantasy points to the position. With little rushing upside to pair along with it, Minshew does not make for a great start this week considering the matchup. Fantasy managers in deeper QB2/Superflex formats can look his way, but otherwise, he is largely off the radar this week.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is coming off another impressive fantasy outing in the team's Week 14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Pittman caught eight of his 11 targets for 95 total yards on the day, his third straight game where he's had double-digit targets and over 90 yards. Now he gets ready to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 15, a defense that has been above average defending the pass this season. Despite the slightly tougher matchup, Pittman can be trusted as a start this week due to his rapport with quarterback Gardner Minshew. With Minshew, Pittman has become the league's second-most targeted receiver this season. Fantasy managers can look to include the fifth-year pass-catcher in all formats this week.Source: RotoBaller
