10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (head) cleared concussion protocol and has been removed from the injury report. He will play against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 16. It was a quick recovery for the 26-year-old after he took a vicious hit during last Saturday's game and was subsequently ruled out. Pittman has 99 catches, 1,062 yards, and four touchdowns this season, putting him in the high-end WR2 tier for this weekend's clash with Atlanta.Source: Mike Chappell
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts kicker Matt Gay (hip) missed Wednesday's practice with a right-hip injury but was back on the practice field in a limited fashion on Thursday, giving him a chance to play on Sunday versus the Atlanta Falcons. As long as Gay doesn't suffer a setback with his hip in Friday's practice, the 29-year-old should have a chance to kick for the team in Week 16. If he's active, Gay should be considered a top-10 fantasy option at the position in a strong matchup this weekend in a dome against the Falcons. On the year in 2023, Gay heads into this weekend's game as the No. 5 overall kicker in total fantasy points. He's made 26 of his 33 field-goal attempts and has missed just one of his 33 extra-point tries in 14 total games. As of right now, it would be a surprise if he wasn't active on Sunday morning.Source: Indianapolis Colts
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) missed his second straight day of practice this week on Thursday. Moss injured his forearm in the Week 15 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers last Saturday and is trending towards missing this Sunday's contest on the road in Atlanta against the Falcons. He has one more day on Friday to get back on the practice field. Even if Moss practices on Friday and has a chance to suit up on Sunday, though, he'd be headed for more of a complementary role in Indy's backfield with Jonathan Taylor (thumb) trending toward returning following three-game absence due to thumb surgery. Fantasy managers should consider the 26-year-old RB to be an RB3/flex, at best, in Week 16 if he and Taylor are both active. If Moss sits, Trey Sermon would likely back up Taylor.Source: Indianapolis Colts
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion, shoulder) was able to put in a full practice on Thursday following a limited session he had on Wednesday. Pittman is in the league's concussion protocol after taking a hard hit in last Saturday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it looks like he's on his way to being cleared to play this Sunday versus the Atlanta Falcons. He's not out of the woods yet, but he should have a pretty good chance of being active in Week 16 if he's able to practice in full again on Friday. Pittman is the WR12 in half-PPR scoring in 2023 and needs to be left in all starting fantasy lineups for semifinal matchups if he gains clearance to play on Sunday. If he doesn't gain clearance, which seems unlikely at this point, rookie Josh Downs and Alec Pierce would have bigger roles in the passing game.Source: Indianapolis Colts
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) said he will practice again on Thursday and that will determine a lot toward his status for Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. Taylor said he'll wear some sort of brace/wrap. He had his surgically repaired right thumb wrapped up in a T-shirt when he spoke to reporters. The Colts listed the 24-year-old as a full practice participant on their estimated report on Wednesday, signaling he has a pretty good chance to return from a three-game absence following thumb surgery. Zack Moss (shoulder) is also questionable after getting hurt in Week 15, so Taylor could have a pretty big role this Sunday against Atlanta if he gets through the next two days of practice unscathed. UPDATE: Taylor practiced in full for the second straight day Thursday.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts kicker Matt Gay (right hip) was listed as a non-participant on the team's practice estimation Wednesday. Given that Gay kicks with his right leg, he could have trouble suiting up in Week 16 if this injury persists. Fantasy managers invested in his availability should check back for more updates when the Colts announce their injury reports on Thursday and Friday. If active, he'd be a fringe top-12 fantasy kicker.Source: James Boyd
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report. Moss suffered a forearm injury in Saturday's victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers and is now in danger of missing Week 16's contest this Sunday versus the Falcons in Atlanta. Even if the 26-year-old is able to return to practice later this week and play this weekend, he'll likely be looking at a major reduction in his role and fantasy value in Week 16. Jonathan Taylor (thumb), who has missed the last three games following right-thumb surgery, is back to full practice and appears on track to make his return on Sunday. Moss has had a solid year for the Colts in 2023, but he underwhelmed for fantasy managers the last three weeks with Taylor sidelined with 92 rushing yards on 36 attempts (2.56 yards per carry) while adding nine catches, 54 yards and a TD through the air.Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates
10 months agoThe Indianapolis Colts listed wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) as limited on their estimated practice report on Wednesday. It's a good start to the week for Pittman after he suffered a concussion in Saturday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, he's not out of the woods yet and must continue to improve in order to get the green light to play in Week 16 on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. The 26-year-old pass-catcher is a must-start in fantasy lineups when he's active, as he currently ranks as the WR12 in half-PPR scoring thanks to 99 receptions for 1,062 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games played. If Pittman isn't cleared in time for Sunday's contest, it will be a big blow to Indy's offense as they attempt to stay in the AFC playoff picture. Rookie receiver Josh Downs and Alec Pierce would find themselves being targeted much more.Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) was listed as a full participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report. It was reported earlier that Taylor would take part in the team's walkthrough session, but a listed as a full participant is a pleasant surprise for fantasy managers still playing for a title in 2023. It sounds as though Taylor is tracking towards a return this weekend to face the Atlanta Falcons following a three-game absence due to right-thumb surgery. It's also notable that Zack Moss (shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday after getting hurt in Saturday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's unclear if Taylor would have a cap put on his snaps if he plays in Week 16, but at the very least it looks like he'll be back to face the Falcons on the road.Source: ESPN.com - Field Yates
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen told reporters on Wednesday that running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is progressing well and will take part in the team's walkthrough practice like he's done the last few weeks. There remains optimism that Taylor will return to action in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons, but he'll be evaluated on a daily basis. The 24-year-old had surgery on his thumb and has been absent the last three games. It would be good timing for the Colts backfield for Taylor to be able to return this weekend, as Zack Moss (shoulder) is dealing with an injury that could put him in jeopardy of playing against Atlanta. The Colts backfield is in flux at the moment, although it seems likely that one of Taylor or Moss will be active. If not, Indy would be down to Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (shoulder) has been sidelined since suffering a significant shoulder injury that required surgery in Week 5 of the 2023 campaign. After a promising start to his rookie year, his season was over quickly. However, the 21-year-old said he thinks he's ahead of schedule in the rehab process. "I think I'm progressing way faster than everyone thought," Richardson said. "They said 16 weeks after the surgery, but hopefully, I'm trying to push to get (back) before that." He said he hopes he can start throwing next month. Either way, he will not return for a potential playoff push, but it's a promising sign for his future outlook. Given his elite rushing ceiling, it would be surprising if he's not a consensus QB1 in 2024 fantasy drafts.Source: NFL.com
10 months agoThe Indianapolis Colts signed running back Tyler Goodson from their practice squad to the active 53-man roster on Tuesday. The team also added defensive end Zach McCloud and wide receivers Jaydon Mickens and Juwann Winfree to their practice squad while letting offensive guard Lewis Kidd go from the practice squad. The Colts RB depth chart has thinned out entering a Week 16 tilt against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday with both Zack Moss (shoulder) and Jonathan Taylor (thumb) up in the air to play. Moss was injured in Saturday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, while Taylor has missed the last three games following thumb surgery. If neither Moss nor Taylor can play this weekend, expect the Colts to use a combination of Goodson and Trey Sermon out of their backfield against the Falcons.Source: FOX 59 - Mike Chappell
10 months agoFree-agent wide receiver Jarvis Landry worked out for the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday. The five-time Pro Bowler has not played with anyone in 2023 after two straight down seasons in 2021 and 2022 with the Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints, respectively, that were marred by injuries. The 31-year-old slot receiver caught just 25 passes for 272 yards and one touchdown on 39 targets in nine games for the Saints last year, but he does have nine years of experience in the NFL, including three 1,000-yard seasons. The Colts are looking for some receiver insurance heading into Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday after top wideout Michael Pittman Jr. suffered a concussion in last Saturday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.Source: The 33rd Team - Ari Meirov
10 months agoThe Indianapolis Colts are suspending wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie and cornerback Tony Brown for the remainder of the 2023 season for "conduct detrimental to the team," according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. McKenzie caught just 11 passes for 82 yards in 13 games this year. Brown has appeared in 12 games, logging ten tackles, one forced fumble, and one interception. Neither player is a key contributor on offense or defense, but the Colts will have to fill their shoes with other depth options.Source: Ari Meirov -- 33rd Team
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (shoulder) plans to try to play in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons next Sunday despite the fact that he injured his shoulder in the Week 15 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, according to a source. X-rays came back negative on Moss' shoulder, and he has to "see how he progresses through the week." It will all come down to how much the 26-year-old can do in practice leading up to next Sunday's game. It's also possible that Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is able to return in Week 16 following three straight missed games after having thumb surgery. It's a good bet that one of Moss or Taylor will be available against the Falcons, but if not, the Colts will have to turn to a combination Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
