4 days agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Jaylen Warren has seen his usage trend positively over the past few weeks and will look to stay involved against the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. Unfortunately for Warren, the Browns have been stout against opposing backs this season, especially in the passing game. Cleveland has surrendered the second-fewest receptions and the seventh-fewest fantasy points per contest to the position. With Najee Harris getting the bulk of the work on the ground, it's difficult to project Warren for much success on Thursday night in what is expected to be the lowest-scoring affair of the week. The 26-year-old should only be viewed as a desperation flex option in most formats.Source: RotoBaller
4 days agoDenver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds (hand) was a full-go in the team's first practice of Week 12 on Wednesday. Reynolds has not played since the Week 5 win over the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders and remains on Injured Reserve due to a hand injury, but he appears to be tracking towards a return to face the Raiders again this Sunday. In addition to a hand injury, the 29-year-old sustained gunshot wounds in an off-the-field incident while on IR. He has apparently recovered nicely from those injuries, though, and should be an option in Denver's passing attack to close out the season. Reynolds caught 12 of 19 targets for 183 yards and a touchdown in his five games before getting hurt and will most likely struggle for consistent targets behind Courtland Sutton when he returns. Rookies Devaughn Vele and Troy Franklin and Lil'Jordan Humphrey have seen bigger roles with Reynolds out.Source: Denver Broncos
4 days agoPittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has done very little for fantasy over the past six weeks but will look to bounce back in a divisional bout with the Cleveland Browns in Week 12. The Browns look like a favorable matchup for tight ends on paper, but Taysom Hill's monstrous showing last week accounts for nearly 35% of the points Cleveland has allowed to the position this season. Only two other tight ends have managed top-10 finishes against the Browns in 2024. Freiermuth does not seem to have a reliable role in Pittsburgh's offense with quarterback Russell Wilson targeting fellow tight end Darnell Washington twice more than Freiermuth since taking over for Justin Fields in Week 7. Even with a few big names on bye this week, fantasy managers should not rely on Freiermuth as there are likely better replacement options available on waivers.Source: RotoBaller
4 days agoNew England Patriots tight end Austin Hooper (neck) was listed as limited on the team's practice report on Wednesday. Hooper apparently picked up a neck injury in the Week 11 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but the fact that he practiced at all on Wednesday means he has a good shot of playing this Sunday when the team takes on the division-rival Miami Dolphins. The 30-year-old has seen an uptick in production the last two weeks with rookie quarterback Drake Maye now leading the offense -- he's caught seven of eight targets for 99 yards -- although he's still nothing more than a low-end TE2 for fantasy purposes while ceding most of the tight end pass-catching work to Hunter Henry. In his first year in New England, Hooper has just one trip to paydirt and has 23 receptions (34 targets) for 236 yards in 11 games.Source: Patriots.com - Evan Lazar
4 days agoGreen Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (calf, quadriceps) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday due to two injuries. Jacobs played through his quad issue in the Week 11 win over the division-rival Chicago Bears, but the calf issue is a new one. The 26-year-old had another workhorse role last Sunday, seeing 22 touches for 134 scrimmage yards and a rushing score against a tough Bears defense. We'll keep a close eye on his practice status through the rest of the week, but as of right now, Jacobs should be expected to suit up this Sunday for a big NFC matchup against the visiting San Francisco 49ers. If active, Jacobs should remain a low-end RB1 choice for fantasy managers with little competition for touches in Green Bay's backfield. The former Raiders RB enters Week 12 averaging 14.4 half-PPR points, which has him tied for 15th among RBs with Jonathan Taylor.Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky
4 days agoPhiladelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) didn't take part in practice with the rest of the team on Wednesday. It's the third straight week that Smith has been listed on the injury report with a hamstring, but he played each of the last two games, albeit to the tune of just six receptions on nine targets for 43 yards and no touchdowns. As long as the 26-year-old is able to return to practice on Thursday or Friday, he stands a good chance of being available to play in Week 12 against the Los Angeles Rams. However, a questionable tag could make life difficult on fantasy managers with the Eagles playing on Sunday Night Football this week. We'd expect Smith to play this weekend as he looks to get back in the good graces of his fantasy managers. Treat him as a WR2 if he's active on Sunday.Source: Philadelphia Eagles
4 days agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens enters Week 12 with the fourth-most receiving yards in the NFL and will look to advance his breakout campaign against the Cleveland Browns. Although the Browns have been solid defensively this year, they have been exploited by opposing wideouts. Cleveland allows the fourth-most fantasy points per game to receivers despite surrendering the fourth-fewest receptions to the position. In other words, the Browns give up big plays and touchdowns, which is exactly how Pickens tends to make an impact. The third-year pro has only scored twice this season but is tied for the sixth-most red zone targets in the league and has had multiple touchdowns overturned or nullified by penalties. Fantasy managers should confidently deploy Pickens as a low-end WR1 on Thursday night.Source: RotoBaller
4 days agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris has been a consistent fantasy producer for most of the season and will hope to continue this success on the road against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have been solid against the run this year, specifically in Cleveland where they allow just 98.6 rushing yards per game. Nonetheless, Harris is a dependable fantasy asset based on volume. The 26-year-old has been given at least 16 opportunities in every contest this season and usually earns a few looks in the passing game even with backfield mate Jaylen Warren healthy. Thursday night's divisional face-off isn't expected to be high-scoring, so while Harris' touchdown upside might be somewhat limited, he still offers a high floor and thus should be started in most formats as an RB2.Source: RotoBaller
4 days agoPittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson was disappointing in last week's win over the Baltimore Ravens and gets another divisional opponent in the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football. The Browns have been middle-of-the-road against the air attack and fantasy QBs this season. While Wilson averages over 235 passing yards per contest, touchdowns have come inconsistently for this Steelers offense, specifically in the red zone. Additionally, this showdown is projected for a meager point total with the over/under sitting at just 36.5. Because of this, Wilson is not a recommended option in most leagues this week, but he can be deployed as a middling QB2 in superflex or two-quarterback formats.Source: RotoBaller

4 days agoHouston Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. (ankle) was limited in practice on Wednesday. Anderson's return to practice is a welcome sight for fantasy managers who were planning on rolling out the Texans D/ST in Week 12 against the Tennessee Titans. The star second-year player is a key cog in a solid Texans defense. Anderson has racked up 7.5 sacks in nine games played in 2024. Should Anderson play this week, he is sure to sack Titans quarterback Will Levis at least once, if not multiple times. The Texans boast the No. 6 D/ST in fantasy in 2024. The Titans happen to be the best matchup for opposing D/STs in fantasy this season. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor this situation to ensure that Anderson will be active. However, with Anderson trending towards playing this week, the Texans should be 100% rostered and started throughout fantasy football leagues.Source: Houston Texans

4 days agoNew York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II (knee) opened up the Week 12 injury report as a limited participant. Lawrence is one of the best defensive tackles in the league. He anchors what is actually a solid New York Giants defense. The Giants host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. Lawrence and his nine sacks will definitely be needed with Baker Mayfield and company coming to town. Given that Lawrence is a veteran and has played in every game this season, his presence as a limited participant on the injury report this early in the week is of little concern. He is enjoying a career year and should give Mayfield and the skill players in Tampa Bay fits on Sunday provided he remains healthy enough to play.Source: NFL.com
4 days agoMinnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold (foot) is listed on the Week 12 injury report after putting in a limited practice session on Wednesday due to a foot ailment. Darnold played the full game in the Week 11 win over the Tennessee Titans but is having his reps limited in the first practice of the week. We'll have a better idea of how serious his injury is after the Vikings hold two more practices on Thursday and Friday. The 27-year-old has slowed down of late in terms of his production, throwing five touchdowns and five interceptions in the last three games. It won't get any easier this weekend if he plays against the division-rival Chicago Bears, whose defense has given up the second-fewest fantasy points per game to the QB position in 2024. Darnold is shaping up as a low-end QB2 play for fantasy managers in Week 12 if he's active.Source: Minnesota Vikings
