Lucas Giolito Goes Five Innings In Latest Rehab Start
Lucas Giolito (hamstring) made his fourth minor-league rehab start on Sunday with Double-A Portland and allowed three earned runs on six hits (one homer) while walking none and fanning four in five innings of work. Over his four rehab starts with Portland and Triple-A Worcester, the 30-year-old veteran has allowed seven earned runs on 15 hits (one homer allowed) while walking seven and striking out 13 in 12 2/3 innings pitched. He got up to 65 pitches in his outing on Easter Sunday and is expected to need at least one more rehab outing on the farm before the Red Sox consider activating him from the 15-day injured list to make his debut with Boston. Fantasy managers need to remember that Giolito didn't pitch at all in 2024 after having an internal-brace procedure on his right elbow, so he's certainly going to be eased back in.Source: Milb.com
Boston Red Sox right-hander Daniel Susac Named Pacific Coast League Hitter Of The Week
Daniel Susac enjoyed an impressive week en route to earning Pacific Coast League Hitter of the Week honors. Over his last seven contests, Susac has begun to find his power, as he went deep three times and added three doubles. During this power surge, the 23-year-old backstop held a .400/.438/.800 slash line with 10 RBI. Before this surge, Susac held an underwhelming .174/.240/.217 slash line. The former 19th overall pick spent his entire 2024 campaign with Double-A Midland and was able to earn a promotion to Triple-A Las Vegas to open the 2025 season. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression, but it appears Susac has begun to turn the corner on his slow start. If the Arizona product continues to hit for power, he could push for an MLB debut later this season.Source: MiLB.com
Athletics catching prospect Brayan Bello To Make Season Debut On Tuesday
Brayan Bello (shoulder) will make his season debut on Tuesday and start against the Seattle Mariners, according to manager Alex Cora. Bello dealt with a right-shoulder injury in spring training and was forced to start the 2025 regular season on the 15-day injured list, but he's now ready to rejoin Boston's starting rotation after making four minor-league rehab starts. Although the 25-year-old had a 7.07 ERA during his rehab assignment, he did strike out 21 hitters while walking only four in his 14 innings of work with Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester. The Dominican hurler only got up to a maximum of 71 pitches in the minor leagues, so he probably won't be fully stretched out to go deep into his first big-league outing on Tuesday against Seattle. Fantasy managers in DFS and deeper single-year leagues would be wise to avoid Bello in his first start off the IL.Source: Boston Herald - Gabrielle Starr

Moises Ballesteros Continues Incredible Start At Triple-A
Moises Ballesteros has continued to swing a hot bat at Triple-A. The young backstop is currently riding an impressive nine-game hitting streak. During this stretch, Ballesteros has posted a stellar .515/.575/.788 slash line with three doubles and two home runs. He has also added five RBI and seven runs. The 21-year-old received a 68-game taste of Triple-A last summer and performed quite well, holding a .281/.340/.454 line with 15 doubles and 10 home runs. It is a great sign to see Ballesteros carry this success into the 2025 campaign. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his production as he could push for an earlier-than-expected MLB debut this summer. For now, he is worth stashing in deeper NL-only formats.Source: MiLB.com
Chicago Cubs catching prospect Sebastian Walcott Riding Eight-Game Hitting Streak
Sebastian Walcott is enjoying an impressive start to the Double-A regular season. Over his previous eight contests, Walcott has tallied at least one hit in each game. During this impressive stretch, Walcott has held a .333/.486/.593 slash line with four doubles and one home run. He has held a strong 6:9 K:BB with one stolen base. Before this recent surge, Walcott held a modest .192/.276/.269 line over the first six games of the campaign. Last summer, Walcott spent most of the campaign with High-A Hickory before earning a brief taste of Double-A. At High-A, Walcott posted a stellar .261/.342/.443 line as an 18-year-old. The infielder is currently considered the No. 16-best prospect in the sport on MLB.com. He is a name to closely monitor as he should compete for his MLB debut in 2026.Source: MiLB.com
Texas Rangers infield prospect Joe Mack Promoted To Triple-A
Joe Mack to Triple-A Jacksonville. Mack is considered the No. 9-ranked prospect in the system on MLB.com. The 22-year-old spent most of the 2024 campaign at Double-A and needed just 13 games at that level this season to prove he was ready for the top level of the minor leagues. This promotion is coming just one day after the Marlins promoted fellow catching prospect Agustin Ramirez to the big leagues. Mack will likely take his spot as the top backstop in Jacksonville. Across 13 games with Double-A Pensacola this season, Mack posted a stellar .318/.464/.614 slash line with four doubles and three long balls. Last summer at Double-A, Mack held a .241/.322/.456 line with 22 home runs across 112 games. He is a name to keep a close eye on as he could push for a second-half MLB debut.Source: Pensacola Blue Wahoos

Wilmer Flores Crushes Key Homer Monday Night
Wilmer Flores went 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run in the Giants' 5-2 win over the visiting Brewers on Monday night. Flores' solo shot in the sixth inning snapped a 2-2 tie and gave the Giants the lead they would hold to the end of the game. The big blast was not only pivotal in securing the win, it also continued a great start to the season for Flores, who now has seven homers in just 23 games after managing just four long-balls in 71 games last year. The 33-year-old is hitting .220 with a .325 wOBA on the year and has been especially effective at Oracle Park, where he has a .360 home batting average and .428 home wOBA on the season. He's worth look if you need power in NL-only leagues or are looking for a short-term fill-in at 1B.Source: ESPN.com
San Francisco Giants first baseman/designated hitter Robbie Ray Works Five Innings In No-Decision
Robbie Ray gave up a two-run home run to rookie Caleb Durbin but was able to limit the damage to just those two runs allowed over his five innings on Tuesday night. He was not efficient with his pitch count and needed 92 pitches to get through five frames while striking out four, walking three, and giving up five hits. The 33-year-old lefty has issued at least three free passes in each of his last four starts and has a 6.7 BB/9 rate on the year. He'll need to improve his control and efficiency to work deeper into games, but he has battled to maintain a 9.3 K/9 and 4.07 ERA despite a 5.87 FIP and 1.56 WHIP. The Giants ultimately won Monday's game, and they'll hope to get a better outing from Ray in his next scheduled start on Saturday against the Rangers.Source: ESPN.com

Matt Olson Extends Hitting Streak To Six Games
Matt Olson went 1-for-3 with a single, a run scored, and an RBI in the Braves' 7-6 home win on Monday night. He has hit safely in each of his last six games and in nine of his last 10, going 10-for-34 (.294) over that stretch with a double, two home runs, eight RBI, and a .405 wOBA. Olson is hitting .237 on the season with three homers and a .355 wOBA, but his production is starting to come around after a slow start. He has a 61.4% hard-hit rate according to Statcast, which would be the highest rate of his career if he maintains it. His average and slugging are still catching up to their expected levels based on his contact metrics, so he's a strong hold or even a buy-low target in mixed leagues if fantasy managers are too hung up on his low batting average.Source: ESPN.com

Source: MiLB.com
Texas Rangers pitching prospect Kohl Drake enjoyed a strong bounce-back in his latest start. On April 16, Kohl tossed five innings of one-hit ball against Double-A Amarillo. In this outing, Drake served up just one free pass and struck out six batters. In his first start of the campaign, Drake allowed four earned runs and four hits across just three innings of work. Last summer, the former 11th-round selection progressed through the Texas system quite quickly as he began the season with Low-A and was able to end the campaign with Double-A. During his first stint at Double-A last season, the left-handed pitcher held a solid 3.10 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP. During this stint, Drake tallied 20 punchouts and served up 11 walks. Fantasy managers should expect Drake to contend for a promotion to Triple-A in the coming weeks.Jose Castillo Makes Season Debut
Jose Castillo (adductor) made his season debut over the weekend with Triple-A Reno. In this outing, the southpaw tossed a clean frame and struck out two batters. Castillo opened the campaign on the injured list due to left adductor tightness. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progress with Triple-A as he could be in the mix to return to the big leagues in the coming weeks. Through his career, Castillo has logged 40 1/3 innings in the majors and tallied an impressive 55 punchouts while holding a 4.24 ERA with a strong 1.04 WHIP. Last summer, the left-hander spent most of his time with Triple-A Reno as he logged 20 2/3 innings to the tune of a 4.35 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. For now, Castillo should not be on your fantasy radar as he slowly increases his workload.Source: MiLB.com
Arizona Diamondbacks left-handed pitcher Jordan Wicks Optioned To Triple-A
Jordan Wicks to Triple-A Iowa. Wicks joined the Cubs for their weekend series against the Arizona Diamondbacks but will return to the top level of the minor leagues instead. During his brief two-inning stint, Wicks allowed five runs (three earned) and six hits. He struck out two and did not allow a free pass. Last season, Wicks logged a career-high 46 innings in the major leagues and held a modest 5.48 ERA with a 1.63 WHIP. During this stint, he tallied 42 punchouts and served up 20 walks. Fantasy managers should expect the former 21st overall pick to be in the mix to return to the majors later in the campaign when the Cubs need additional depth in their rotation. Through 66 2/3 career innings at Triple-A, Wicks has held a 4.32 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP.Source: MiLB.com
