1 week agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars are releasing wide receiver Christian Kirk, according to NFL insider Ari Meirov. The team will clear $10.4 million by moving on from the 28-year-old. Kirk played four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals before signing a four-year, $72 million contract with Jacksonville ahead of the 2022 season. The former Texas A&M Aggie flashed in 2022, compiling 84 receptions for 1,108 yards and eight touchdowns. However, he has played fewer than 13 games in each of the last two seasons and has fallen under 800 receiving yards in 2023 and 2024. With superstar wideout Brian Thomas Jr. on the roster, Kirk became expendable as the team looks to retool under new head coach Liam Coen. Kirk should draw interest on the open free-agent market.Source: Ari Meirov -- 33rd Team
1 week agoThe Seattle Seahawks are releasing longtime wide receiver Tyler Lockett, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 32-year-old was selected by Seattle in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft and racked up 661 receptions for 8,594 yards and 61 touchdowns across 161 career games in 10 seasons. Lockett has played in 15 or more games in every season of his career and has three All-Pro nods as a return specialist. Seattle opts to move on rather than pay his $17 million salary for this season, including a $5.3 million roster bonus that would have been due on March 16. While Lockett is past his prime as a consistent 1,000-yard receiver, there will likely be teams interested in his services, especially teams with young quarterbacks.Source: Adam Schefter
1 week agoThe Houston Texans re-signed running back Dare Ogunbowale to a one-year, $2 million deal, according to NFL Insider Tom Pelissero. The 30-year-old has spent the last three seasons with Houston as a backup and primary special teamer following two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Overall, Ogunbowale has rushed 166 times for 569 yards and four touchdowns in 95 games across four organizations. Fantasy managers should not expect Ogunbowale to be on the fantasy radar in 2025 barring a slew of injuries to Houston's running back room.Source: Tom Pelissero
1 week agoCincinnati Bengals defensive end Sam Hubbard announced his retirement via X on Wednesday. The 29-year-old spent his entire seven-year career with the Bengals after being selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Ohio State. Hubbard was a four-time captain and racked up 398 tackles (236 solo), 38.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, one interception, and 16 pass deflections in 104 career games. With Pro Bowl edge rusher Trey Hendrickson's future uncertain in Cincinnati moving forward, the organization could have a glaring hole on the outside of its defensive line.Source: Sam Hubbard
1 week agoLas Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew II will be released by the organization when the new league year begins on March 12, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. The 28-year-old signed a two-year, $25 million contract with the Raiders last offseason but is headed out after just one year. Since being selected in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft out of Washington State, Minshew has thrown for 11,950 yards, 68 touchdowns, and 34 interceptions in 59 game appearances with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, and Raiders. He is one of the better backup quarterbacks in the NFL, so he will likely draw plenty of interest on the open free-agent market.Source: Tom Pelissero
1 week agoThe Houston Texans restructured the contract of star wide receiver Nico Collins, clearing $9.8 million in salary cap space for 2025. According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, it was a simple restructure. Last offseason, Collins signed a three-year, $72.75 million contract extension with Houston following a 1,297-yard receiving season. The former Michigan Wolverine posted 1,006 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in just 12 games in 2024. With Stefon Diggs likely out of Houston entering next season, Collins is poised for another strong year as quarterback C.J. Stroud's No. 1 wide receiver.Source: Tom Pelissero
1 week agoThe Chicago Bears are trading for Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro offensive lineman Joe Thuney, according to multiple sources. The Bears are sending a 2026 fourth-round pick in exchange for the veteran. Thuney could potentially receive a contract extension with Chicago in short order. The 32-year-old and four-time Super Bowl Champion has been an anchor on Kansas City's offensive line since joining the team in 2021 following a five-year career with the New England Patriots. He has earned four All-Pro honors and will provide an instant boost to the Chicago offense line. The organization also traded for Los Angeles Rams guard Jonah Jackson, so needless to say, revamping the offensive line has been a major priority under new head coach Ben Johnson.Source: Ari Meirov -- 33rd Team
1 week agoUniversity of Georgia edge rusher/outside linebacker Jalon Walker (quadriceps) will not work out at his school's Pro Day on March 12 because of a quad strain that he suffered while training, sources tell ESPN's Jordan Reid. Instead, Walker will have a private workout for NFL teams on April 17. Walker, who is one of the top edge rushers in this year's draft class, also didn't work out at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis last week. In his latest mock draft, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has Walker as the No. 8 overall player, while he's considered a top-10 player on ESPN's consensus draft board. He measured at 6-foot-1, 243 pounds at the Combine with an arm span of 79 7/8 inches. Walker earned the Butkus Award in 2024 as the nation's top linebacker by leading the Bulldogs in tackles for loss (10.5) and sacks (6.5). His quad injury shouldn't negatively affect his draft stock.Source: ESPN.com - Jordan Reid
1 week agoESPN Dallas' Todd Archer reports that the Dallas Cowboys signed exclusive-rights free-agent safety Juanyeh Thomas and offensive guard/center Brock Hoffman to their tenders on Tuesday. Thomas will make $1.03 million in 2025, while Hoffman will make $1.1 million. Thomas doubled as a safety and kick returner in 2024 in his second year with Dallas, ultimately finishing with 14 tackles (10 solo) and a forced fumble while adding 187 kickoff-return yards and a touchdown in 13 games played. The 24-year-old went undrafted out of Georgia Tech before debuting in the NFL with the Cowboys in 2023. Hoffman, meanwhile, played in 17 games (seven starts) for the second straight season in 2024 in his third year with the team. With Zack Martin's retirement announcement, Hoffman could compete for the starting right-guard spot this summer at training camp.Source: ESPN Dallas - Todd Archer
1 week agoThe Dallas Cowboys and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa agreed on a four-year, $80 million deal on Tuesday that includes $58 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Agent Sam Leaf Ireifej negotiated the deal. The 26-year-old former third-round pick (75th overall) in 2021 out of UCLA was able to work out an extension with the Cowboys, so Dallas was able to avoid placing the franchise tag on him. In his first four years in the NFL, he ha recorded 172 tackles (99 solo), 13.5 sacks, 28 tackles for loss, 58 QB hits and two forced fumbles in 67 games (63 starts). Odighizuwa's best season came in 2024, where he compiled career-highs in tackles (47), sacks (4.5) and QB hits (23) in 17 starts. The Cowboys will now turn to working on an extension with All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons, who is in line to become one of the highest-paid defensive players in the league.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
1 week agoThe Green Bay Packers agreed to re-sign kicker Brandon McManus on Tuesday to a three-year, $15.3 million deal, including a $5 million signing bonus, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal was negotiated by Drew and Jason Rosenhaus. McManus joined the Packers midway through the 2024 and helped stabilize a position that had been a headache for the team ever since Mason Crosby left. The 33-year-old veteran made 20 of his 21 field-goal attempts, including all three from 50-plus yards out, and all 30 of his extra-point tries in 11 regular-season games. In the wild-card game loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, he made one of his two field goals and his only point-after attempt. Given the upside of Green Bay's offense with quarterback Jordan Love, McManus should enter the 2025 season as a fringe top-12 fantasy option, at worst.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
1 week agoESPN's Dan Graziano targets Louisville quarterback Tyler Shough as a name to watch as a potential riser ahead of April's NFL draft. Scouts are in love with his ability and instincts. Shough broke his collarbone and his ankle in separate seasons at Texas Tech, but those injuries were more bad luck than chronic conditions. The biggest knock on him is the fact that he'll be turning 26 years old in September, which means he'll be almost 30 when his rookie contract is up. It's one of the big reasons that Shough hasn't gotten much buzz in what is considered a weak QB class in 2025, but he could be a sleeper to watch on Day 2 or 3 of the draft. He is ranked as Mel Kiper Jr.'s eighth-best QB in this year's class and possesses a live arm as a pocket passer. The 25-year-old also plays with good vision, but he has been inconsistent and struggles with pressure.Source: ESPN.com - Dan Graziano
1 week agoThe sense out of the NFL Combine last week in Indianapolis was that the Baltimore Ravens and left tackle Ronnie Stanley could work out a contract extension soon, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. It's not a guarantee, but it sounds like both are sides are working to make it happen, with some around the league projecting the deal to be for somewhere between $21-23 million per year. The Rams already re-signed tackle Alaric Jackson, so if Stanley were to lock down an extension with Baltimore, it would boost Cam Robinson's free-agent market this offseason. On the open market, the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs could be two of the most aggressive teams in terms of targeting available tackles. Stanley, the former sixth overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft out of Notre Dame, made his second Pro Bowl in 2024 in his ninth year in the league.Source: ESPN.com - Jeremy Fowler
1 week agoESPN's Dan Graziano writes that the Atlanta Falcons are prepared to lose center Drew Dalman in free agency this offseason. Ideally, Atlanta would love to re-sign him, but Dalman will likely get offered more on the open market, with ESPN's Jeremy Fowler saying Dalman will easily top the free-agent market at the position. Meanwhile, the Falcon will tender restricted free-agent center Ryan Neuzil, who will end up replacing Dalman. It remains to be seen if Dalman will top Creed Humphrey's four-year, $72 million deal, but either way, he's going to do pretty well for himself. In addition to Dalman, Fowler notes that Green Bay Packers impending center Josh Myers should have a strong market in free agency after avoiding what looked like a potential serious injury in the playoffs.Source: ESPN.com - Dan Graziano and Jeremy Fowler
1 week agoAtlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was selected fourth overall in 2021 and had 1,026 receiving yards in his first year in the NFL, but since then, he's been an enigma and has left fantasy managers and the Falcons wanting more. He finished last year as the team's fifth-leading receiver with 47 catches for 602 yards and four touchdowns, and since entering the league, Pitts is fifth among all TEs in receiving yards (2,651) and 23rd in touchdowns (10). "He's shown some spurts of greatness, and he's shown some things that (make you) desire more. We'll try to get the best out of him at all times. That's our job as coaches," head coach Raheem Morris said. The 24-year-old will be making $10.87 million on his fifth-year option in 2025, and all signs point to this being his final year in Atlanta unless he can improve his production. In fantasy, he'll come cheap as a low-end TE1/high-end TE2 after yet another disappointing season.Source: The Athletic - Josh Kendall
