5 days agoLos Angeles Angels infielder Luis Rengifo (hamstring) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. There was some concern that Rengifo would miss this game after exiting early on Friday due to hamstring tightness. Luckily, Rengifo only appears to have exited for precautionary reasons and will still suit up for this game. The Angels are without Yoan Moncada (thumb), so Rengifo will cover third base and bat second against right-hander Tanner Bibee. Fantasy managers can safely get Rengifo back into their lineups.Source: mlb.com
5 days agoMiami Heat guard Tyler Herro (thigh) won't play on Saturday versus the Bucks. Herro recently had 35 points and nine rebounds in Thursday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Unfortunately, he will miss Saturday's contest because of a thigh contusion. Andrew Wiggins (hamstring) is also out, so Kel'el Ware, Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson, and Davion Mitchell are the favorites to lead the way offensively.Source: Anthony Chiang
5 days agoSan Francisco Giants catcher Patrick Bailey (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Bailey has earned himself a day off after going 3-for-5 with two doubles in the extra inning win on Friday. However, that three-hit performance was the first time that Bailey had recorded a hit since Opening Day. Sam Huff will do the catching and bat eighth against right-hander Bryce Miller on Saturday.Source: mlb.com
5 days agoSeattle Mariners first baseman Luke Raley (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Raley has struggled against left-handed pitching in his career, so he'll take a seat against southpaw Robbie Ray on Saturday. In his absence, Cal Raleigh will slide over to the designated hitter spot while Mitch Garver does the catching. There's a good chance that Raley only plays in a platoon role for the Mariners this season. That being said, it might be difficult for Raley to hold fantasy value outside of AL-only formats.Source: mlb.com
5 days agoSeattle Mariners infielder Jorge Polanco (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants. Polanco will head to the bench after a three-hit performance on Friday. In his absence, Dylan Moore will cover the hot corner and bat seventh versus left-hander Robbie Ray. Moore hits better against left-handed pitching, so it makes sense that they'd give him the start over Polanco here. Polanco is hitting 9-for-20 with two homers and eight RBI this season, so he could start gaining more value in fantasy leagues.Source: mlb.com
5 days agoMontreal Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault will chase a fourth consecutive win in Saturday's matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers. The 28-year-old has blown hot and cold all season and is currently in the midst of a positive run, defeating the Florida Panthers in back-to-back games and taking care of the Boston Bruins last time out. The run of victories has improved Montembeault's record to 28-23-6. He has registered four shutouts, a 2.86 goals-against average, and a .900 save percentage. The bookmakers have made Montreal a -175 favorite for Saturday's game; however, it may prove to be a challenging contest against a team that has also won three consecutive games entering Saturday. Philadelphia's winning streak began with a 6-4 victory at home against the Canadiens.Source: Renaud Lavoie
5 days agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz has been named the starter for Saturday's contest against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He has earned a second consecutive start after defeating the Florida Panthers with 29 saves in a 3-2 win on Monday night. The result marked a fourth consecutive victory for Stolarz, who has put together a 17-8-3 record for the season. He has registered a 2.34 goals-against average with a .920 save percentage and one shutout. Another positive result on Saturday would give Stolarz his second five-game winning streak of the season. However, he will need to be in top form to achieve it, as Columbus boasts the 10th-best attacking record in the league, averaging 3.23 goals per game.Source: Mark Masters
5 days agoTampa Bay Lightning goaltender Jonas Johansson will be the starter for Saturday's game against the Buffalo Sabres. He will make only his 16th start of the season, as Tampa Bay has leaned heavily on Andrei Vasilevskiy. Johansson holds a winning record with 8-5-2, but he has allowed over three goals per game (3.11) while registering a .898 save percentage with one shutout. Tampa Bay's No. 2 faces a weak squad on Saturday, with Buffalo sitting second from the bottom in the Eastern Conference. However, it could still be a tough night for him, as Lindy Ruff's team averages the eighth-most goals in the league (3.26).Source: Eduardo A. Encina
5 days agoOttawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk (upper body) will miss his fourth straight game on Sunday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. "I doubt it to be honest. I don't think he'll play tomorrow," Senators head coach Travis Green told reporters after Saturday's victory over the Florida Panthers, according to The Athletic's Julian McKenzie. Fabian Zetterlund has taken Tkachuk's spot on the first line, but he had another anonymous performance on Saturday, finishing a 3-0 win with zero points and shots on goal.Source: Julian McKenzie
5 days agoColumbus Blue Jackets left wing James van Riemsdyk will return to the lineup for Saturday's matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The veteran forward has been a healthy scratch for four games. Luke Kunin is expected to depart the lineup on Saturday. Van Riemsdyk, who was a 30-goal scorer with the Maple Leafs in 2014 and 2018, has lost most of his fantasy value, but he has been a solid contributor for the Blue Jackets in 2024-25. The 35-year-old has tallied 14 goals and 30 points in 63 outings. On Saturday, van Riemsdyk will try to end a seven-game pointless streak.Source: Jeff Svoboda
5 days agoVegas Golden Knights goaltender Ilya Samsonov (upper body) will be unavailable on Saturday against the Calgary Flames. He continues to nurse an upper-body injury sustained during the warm-ups before last Saturday's 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators. Samsonov's absence has come at a bad time for the Golden Knights, as the team has a back-to-back scheduled for a second consecutive weekend. Akira Schmid is the likely starter for Saturday's contest, while Adin Hill should return to the crease for Sunday's matchup against the Vancouver Canucks. Samsonov is sporting a 16-9-3 record for the season with two shutouts, a 2.79 goals-against average, and a .892 save percentage.Source: NHL.com
5 days agoCarolina Hurricanes center Jordan Staal (lower body) has been ruled out for Saturday's clash against the Boston Bruins. Like Andrei Svechnikov (undisclosed), he has not joined the team for its four-game road trip. The Hurricanes captain will be unavailable for a fourth consecutive contest. Injuries in the offensive department have given Jackson Blake a first-line role, while Justin Robidas enjoyed a fine debut in Friday's meeting with the Detroit Red Wings. The 22-year-old notched an assist in a 5-3 loss. Blake has been on fire with four goals in four games, adding two assists.Source: Walt Ruff
5 days agoMiami Marlins catcher Nick Fortes (neck) was originally in the lineup for the Fish on Saturday night against AJ Smith-Shawver and the Braves, but he was removed before the game began due to neck stiffness. Fortes was batting ninth but will be replaced by Liam Hicks in that spot in the order and behind the plate. Hicks is just 2-for-14 (.143) in his five games with a walk and three strikeouts. He actually has a 50% hard-hit rate, per Statcast, but he has been hitting it hard right at people for the most part so far this season.Source: Christina De Nicola
5 days agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu was removed from the team's starting lineup on Saturday for undisclosed reasons. Abreu was originally in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals, but after a rain delay, he was replaced by Rob Refsnyder. It's a big hit to the Red Sox lineup since Abreu has started off the season scalding hot, hitting .500 (11-for-22) with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI, and a .650 wOBA. The Red Sox have outfield depth, but Abreu has been so productive that losing him for any length of time would be a tough blow for the team. If you've been riding his early-season production, be sure to watch closely for more word from the team on the reason he was removed from the lineup.Source: Christopher Smith
5 days agoTampa Bay Rays shortstop Taylor Walls is not in the lineup for the Rays' Saturday night matchup against right-hander Jacob deGrom and the Rangers. Walls has struggled at the plate this season, going just 2-for-17 (.118) with a stolen base. The 28-year-old switch-hitter started six of the team's seven games this season, entering the other game as a defensive replacement. He'll get Saturday off while Jose Caballero draws the start in his spot. After swiping 44 bags last year, Caballero is a viable streamer or DFS value play if you're chasing stolen bases this Saturday.Source: Ryan Bass
5 days agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Junior Caminero is not in Tampa Bay's lineup for Saturday night in Arlington against right-hander Jacob deGrom and the Rangers. There are no reports of an injury for Caminero, so it's likely just a routine day off for the 21-year-old, who has appeared in all seven games for the Rays this season. He has gone 7-for-25 (.280) with a double, two walks, and an RBI. He has yet to record a barrel, and his hard-hit rate is down from last year, but there's no cause for alarm just yet. The team will remain committed to playing him most days at the hot corner, but Curtis Mead will start in his place on Saturday.Source: Ryan Bass
5 days agoCincinnati Reds outfielder/corner infielder Spencer Steer is not in the team's lineup for Saturday against the Brewers. Steer was originally scheduled for a day off Friday but entered the lineup when Matt McLain (hamstring) had to be scratched. Steer entered the lineup hitting second, but he'll start Saturday's game on the bench, even though there is no word of any injury. The 27-year-old righty is just 1-for-21 (.048) in the early going this season with an 0.72 wOBA after he missed considerable time in spring training with a minor shoulder injury. He has been struggling along with the rest of the Reds' lineup, but hopefully the day off will reset him and help him find his groove going forward.Source: Cincinnati Reds
5 days agoCincinnati Reds shortstop Matt McLain is back in the lineup on Saturday as the Reds take on the Brewers after being scratched Friday due to tightness in his left hamstring. He appeared later in the game as a pinch hitter and lined out deep to center field in the ninth inning. McLain will bat second as the designated hitter in a favorable matchup against Elvin Rodriguez and the Brewers. So far this season, McLain has looked excellent with three home runs, five RBI, a stolen base, and a .366 wOBA. Per Statcast, he already has four barrels and an xwOBA of .420. He's hitting the ball well and should give the Reds' struggling lineup a boost in his return on Saturday.Source: Cincinnati Reds
5 days agoLos Angeles Dodgers designated hitter/starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani (elbow) completed a "light" bullpen session on Thursday and is set to throw a larger session before Saturday's contest. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but he does not hold a definite timeline on when he will begin to face live hitters. However, if Ohtani continues to progress without setbacks, he could be in the mix to return to the bump sometime in the first half of the campaign. The 30-year-old was only able to be deployed as a hitter during the 2024 campaign as he underwent Tommy John surgery in September 2023. In 2024, Ohtani ran away with the NL MVP Award as he established the 50-50 club. In 2023, Ohtani posted a strong 3.23 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP across 132 innings with the Angels. He struck out 167 batters. Ohtani will only see his fantasy value increase when he is cleared to rejoin the starting rotation.Source: Bill Plunkett
5 days agoNew York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson (ankle) won't play on Saturday against the Hawks. The Knicks will play the Suns on Sunday. As a result, he's expected to return for the second game of back-to-back outings. Karl-Anthony Towns will remain in the middle, as expected. However, Robinson's absence should mean Precious Achiuwa will see at least 20 minutes of action, with the former Raptor amassing 13 points, six rebounds, two blocks, and one steal in Wednesday's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoNew York Knicks guard Cameron Payne (ankle) will return from his four-game absence for Saturday's game against Atlanta. It's unknown if he'll see fewer minutes in his first game back from the layoff. But with Jalen Brunson (ankle) and Miles McBride (pelvis) still out, Payne will come off the bench behind Delon Wright, likely resulting in less work for Tyler Kolek and Landry Shamet, with the latter posting double-digit scoring outings in three of the Knicks' previous four contests.Source: Stefan Bondy
5 days agoNew York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson (ankle) won't play on Saturday against the Hawks. However, according to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, he's expected to return from his month-long absence on Sunday versus the Suns. Fortunately, Cameron Payne (ankle) is available and will come off the bench, likely meaning significantly less work for Landry Shamet and Tyler Kolek. Delon Wright, averaging 7.5 points, 5.0 assists, and 1.7 steals in six starts this season, will remain with the first five.Source: Stefan Bondy
5 days agoKansas City Royals right-handed pitcher Alec Marsh (shoulder) has faced a setback in his recovery. According to Anne Rogers of MLB.com, Marsh has begun to feel soreness in his shoulder and will be shut down for the next seven to 10 days. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status, but this setback will likely push Marsh's timeline further back. Marsh has been on the 15-day injured list due to tightness in his shoulder. Last season, Marsh logged 129 innings for the Royals and held a 4.53 ERA with a 1.26 WHIP. He struck out 123 batters and held a strong 7.1 percent walk rate. He generated a modest 4.97 xERA with a .264 xBA, which were both well below the average marks. While Marsh remains out, fantasy managers should expect Michael Lorenzen to remain in the starting rotation.Source: Anne Rogers
5 days agoBaltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman and first baseman Ryan O'Hearn are not in the starting lineup on Saturday afternoon when they face the Kansas City Royals. Rutschman will receive a maintenance day as he has started in each of the first eight games of the regular season. During the start of the campaign, Rutschman has held a .258/.343/.484 line with one double and two round trippers. He will cede catching duties to Gary Sanchez this afternoon. O'Hearn has not tallied a hit in each of his past two contests and will leave the designated hitter spot open for Gunnar Henderson. Ramon Urias will enter the lineup and cover the hot corner as well. Fantasy managers should expect Rutschman to return to the lineup on Sunday, facing southpaw Kris Bubic. However, O'Hearn will likely continue to ride pine as he typically sits against left-handed pitching.Source: MLB.com
5 days agoArizona Diamondbacks outfielder Pavin Smith will take a seat on Saturday afternoon, facing Washington southpaw Mitchell Parker. Fantasy managers should expect Smith to return to the starting nine on Sunday afternoon when they face Washington right-hander Brad Lord. Smith has typically hit the bench when facing left-handed pitchers. Instead, Randal Grichuk will get the starting nod as a designated hitter. Through the first seven contests of the regular season, Smith has held a .313/.450/.500 slash line with three doubles and a 4:9 BB:K. Last season, Smith was very productive against right-handed pitching, as he posted a strong .282/.356/.564 line. Grichuk is worth a look as an option in DFS competitions, facing Parker, who held a 4.29 ERA last season.Source: MLB.com
5 days agoDetroit Pistons forward Tobias Harris (heel) is questionable for Saturday's game against Memphis. The veteran has been bothered by heel soreness, most recently keeping him off the floor for Friday's win over the Toronto Raptors. Detroit is heading to the playoffs, so it's possible Harris gets a few more games off in order to be ready. Fortunately, Cade Cunningham (calf) is probable, which will help lessen the blow. But if Harris remains out, Ausar Thompson and Malik Beasley, combining for 36 points versus the Raptors, should continue to receive more work, with one of them expected to stay in the starting lineup.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoArizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo will bat at the top of the order on Saturday afternoon against the Washington Nationals. With Ketel Marte (hamstring) hitting the 10-day injured list, the Diamondbacks will move Perdomo up to the top of the batting order. This is surprising as Corbin Carroll has also seen time as a leadoff hitter this season and throughout his career. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Perdomo's deployment as he could have increased short-term value batting in the leadoff spot. Through the early part of the campaign, Perdomo has posted a strong .379/.375/.552 slash line with two doubles and one home run across eight contests. This afternoon, he carries value in DFS formats facing Washington southpaw Mitchell Parker.Source: MLB.com
5 days agoDetroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham (calf) is probable heading into Saturday's matchup with the Grizzlies. He's missed the last six games because of a calf contusion. As a result, Dennis Schroder has been filling in at the one, most recently amassing 16 points, seven assists, and one steal in Friday's 117-105 win over the Toronto Raptors. Schroder will likely head back to the bench, assuming Cunningham is officially cleared to suit up, decreasing his fantasy potential. Cunningham's presence should also lead to fewer scoring opportunities for Tim Hardaway Jr. and Malik Beasley, with Marcus Sasser in danger of falling out of the rotation altogether.Source: NBA Injury Report
5 days agoNew York Yankees infielder Oswaldo Cabrera is not in the starting lineup on Saturday afternoon when the Yankees continue a series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Instead, the Yankees will give Oswald Peraza the starting nod at the hot corner. Fantasy managers should expect Cabrera to return to the starting lineup on Sunday afternoon. Cabrera has started in six of the first seven games of the regular season. He has seen time at the hot corner and the outfield. Across the opening week, Cabrera has held a .316/.381/.316 slash line with no extra-base hits. He has brought in four runs and scored twice. This afternoon. Peraza will bat in the eight-hole and is worth a look as a budget play in DFS batting in a potent Yankee lineup facing Pittsburgh left-hander Bailey Falter.Source: MLB.com
5 days agoAtlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (Achilles) will play on Saturday versus the visiting Knicks. Despite routinely appearing on the injury report throughout the season because of right Achilles Tendinitis, the former Oklahoma Sooner has only missed five games. He's had another quality year, averaging 24.1 points and 11.6 assists. Yet, Young has been even more productive on the scoring end in his four meetings with New York during the 2024-25 campaign, averaging 27.5 points while shooting 37.5% from behind the arc.Source: NBA Injury Report
