4 days agoChicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey (ankle) will not play against Boston on Thursday. After injuring his right ankle on Monday against Toronto, Giddey will be forced to miss his first game of the season. Zach LaVine (back) will return to the court on Thursday and should handle more playmaking duties with Giddey unavailable. Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and Lonzo Ball are poised to soak in some of his minutes as well. At the same time, the door is open for Talen Horton-Tucker to remain in the rotation following his 15-point performance in 25 minutes on Monday.Source: Gary Washburn
4 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton (knee) is trending in the wrong direction in Week 16 after missing his second straight practice of the week on Thursday. Otton has been wearing a brace on his knee this week after apparently injuring his knee in the Week 15 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. If the 25-year-old can't return to practice on Friday, he'll be ruled out for Sunday night's contest against the Dallas Cowboys. In the event that happens, the Bucs are expected to roll with a committee approach at TE with Payne Durham, Ko Kieft and rookie seventh-rounder Devin Culp. Kieft is probably the best bet for sleeper production at the position against Dallas' defense, but fantasy managers should probably avoid the situation entirely. Otton was putting up high-end TE1 numbers when receiver Mike Evans missed a few games due to injury, but his production has fallen since Evans' return.Source: Buccaneers.com
4 days agoThe Charlotte Hornets announced that guard/forward Brandon Miller (ankle) will not suit up against the Washington Wizards on Thursday due to a right ankle sprain. Thursday will be the first contest the 22-year-old has missed since November 1st. In his second season in the NBA, Miller has played 22 games, averaging 21.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals across 34.4 minutes per contest. Seth Curry and Cody Martin will likely receive more playing time while Miller is sidelined.Source: Charlotte Hornets
4 days agoBoston Celtics forward Sam Hauser (back) will not be in the lineup on Thursday against Chicago. He's battling lower back spasms, sitting out for the second time in three games. Hauser's absence might give Jordan Walsh and Drew Peterson extra playing opportunities, but they aren't good fantasy options. The returning Al Horford (rest) should also soak in some of the available minutes. It's a good matchup for Horford, as Chicago has struggled to defend opposing centers all season.Source: Keith Smith
4 days agoTampa Bay Buccaneers rookie running back Bucky Irving (back, hip) was limited in practice for the second straight day this week on Thursday. Irving missed a few practices last week and was questionable to play, but he suited up in the Week 15 win over the Los Angeles Chargers and played 44 percent of the offensive snaps. He saw 15 carries and went over 100 yards rushing for the second time in the last three games. The 22-year-old basically proved that as long as he's active, he needs to be in starting fantasy lineups. He should be active again this Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys, but fantasy managers will want to check back on his status on Friday. Irving is averaging 19 touches and 124.2 scrimmage yards per game while scoring three times in the last five games as Tampa's most productive fantasy back in 2024.Source: Buccaneers.com
4 days agoDetroit Pistons forward Tobias Harris (thumb) will officially return from a one-game absence due to a sprained right thumb. He was already listed as probable heading into this matchup, so it doesn't come as a surprise that he'll be suiting up. With Jaden Ivey (knee) ruled out, Harris could take on a bit more of the scoring load than usual. The veteran has been a solid contributor in deeper category leagues as he averages 13.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.5 threes per game on shooting splits of .449/.342/.839.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoBoston Celtics forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (heel) is good to go for Thursday's matchup against Chicago. He was initially regarded as questionable for the contest after a heel injury limited Porzingis to 11 minutes on Sunday versus Washington. Thursday's matchup is a favorable one for Porzingis, as the Bulls are allowing the second-most points in the league this season (121.9). Chicago also gives up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing centers and power forwards.Source: Keith Smith
4 days agoDallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (shoulder) upgraded to a full practice participant on Thursday after he was listed as limited on Wednesday. Lamb suffered an AC joint sprain in his shoulder all the way back in Week 9 but has played through it and hasn't missed any time. He'll be ready to roll on Sunday night in Week 16 when the team hosts the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) being out for the year, Lamb has remained a must-start in fantasy lineups while working with backup Cooper Rush. The Buccaneers defense has been better of late, but on the season as a whole, they've been a good matchup for receivers in fantasy. Lamb had his second 100-yard game of the year in the Week 15 win over the Carolina Panthers and has scored in back-to-back weeks. He's seen double-digit targets in seven of the last nine games. Start Lamb against the Bucs.Source: The Athletic - Jon Machota
4 days agoWashington Wizards guard Bub Carrington (illness) has been upgraded from questionable to available on Thursday night and will face off against the Charlotte Hornets. The rookie entered the starting lineup again over the last five games after a stint coming off of the bench. Unfortunately, his shooting efficiency still hasn't been great with a 30% mark from the floor over his last four starts. In that time, he's averaged 7.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.8 turnovers per game.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoToronto Raptors guard/forward Scottie Barnes (ankle) will return from a two-game absence on Thursday against Brooklyn. The team has upgraded him from questionable to available. Barnes' workload might be limited due to the nature of his injury, but he should be heavily involved in the offense when he's on the court, as Toronto won't have the services of RJ Barrett (illness) and Jakob Poeltl (groin) on Thursday. Barnes has averaged 20.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 8.6 assists in four appearances this month.Source: Blake Murphy
4 days agoEven though Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (knee) wasn't seen at the portion of Thursday's practice open to the media, he did participate in some side work. Higgins is expected to return to practice on Friday and should be on track to play on Sunday against the division-rival Cleveland Browns in Week 16. On the official injury report, he was limited on Wednesday and a non-participant on Thursday. Fantasy managers should be planning to start the 25-year-old in semifinal matchups this weekend. He played 86 percent of the snaps in last week's win over the Tennessee Titans and caught five of his eight targets for 88 yards and a touchdown. Despite being in the shadow of All-Pro wideout Ja'Marr Chase, Higgins has been a strong option for fantasy managers in 2024 when he's been on the field, scoring six touchdowns in nine games played. He has WR1 upside in Week 16 against Cleveland.Source: ESPN.com - Ben Baby
4 days agoAccording to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca, Toronto Raptors forward RJ Barrett (illness) will be unavailable to suit up versus the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday due to an illness. Barrett hasn't missed a game since October 26th and was a late add-on to Thursday's injury report. While the 24-year-old is sidelined, Jamison Battle and Ja'Kobe Walter will likely see an uptick in minutes. His next opportunity to play will come against the Houston Rockets on Sunday.Source: Blake Murphy
4 days agoAfter Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery (knee) consulted with medical experts the last few days, sources are optimistic that he avoided a season-ending injury. Montgomery will rehab his MCL injury with the hope that he can return at some point in the playoffs. The 27-year-old will still miss the last three games of the regular season and is no further use to fantasy managers in redraft leagues that are still battling for a championship. The Lions will hold out hope that Monty can recover quickly and join them in the postseason, although there are no guarantees. If Detroit can secure the top seed in the NFC and a first-round bye, it would give Montgomery an extra week of recovery. In the meantime, Jahmyr Gibbs should see all the touches he can handle for the Lions the last three weeks of the regular season, with Craig Reynolds being sprinkled in. Gibbs is a must-start, high-end RB1 going forward.Source: NFL Network - Ian Rapoport
4 days agoChicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek (groin) has been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of Thursday's contest against Seattle. He's set to rejoin the lineup following a five-game absence, although Arvid Soderblom will be the starter in the crease. Both netminders have played well for the Blackhawks this season, but the team's lethargic offense has made it tough for them to string together a run of wins. Mrazek carries a 7-11-1 record with a 2.83 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage. Chicago has assigned Drew Commesso to the AHL as a result of Mrazek's return.Source: ESPN
4 days agoIndianapolis Colts kicker Matt Gay (neck) remained sidelined during practice on Thursday. Gay will need to participate in some capacity during Friday's session to have a chance to suit up this weekend. The veteran kicker sustained this injury during their loss to the Denver Broncos last weekend. Fantasy managers should closely monitor his status on Friday. Since Week 10, the 30-year-old has held a perfect 100% mark on his field goals and extra point attempts. Overall, he holds an 88.9% FG success rate and has yet to miss an extra point. If Gay can make a quick turnaround, he should be viewed as a low-end K1, given the safe floor he provides facing the Tennessee Titans.Source: Indianapolis Colts
4 days agoSeattle Kraken center Yanni Gourde (lower body) is ready to return from a three-game absence on Thursday against Chicago. He's expected to grab a second-line role, working as the center between Jaden Schwartz and Brandon Tanev. Gourde's offensive output has been limited to five goals and nine assists in 29 games this season. However, his scoring rate has improved this month, as Gourde has averaged a point per game in four appearances. The Blackhawks share the league's worst record with Nashville and allow over three goals per game (3.16), so Gourde will be in a good position to continue his recent hot spell.Source: NHL.com
4 days agoLas Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers (ankle) remained a limited participant during Thursday's practice. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status during Friday's session, as he may carry an injury designation into the weekend if he does not log a full session. Meyers has been dealing with this ankle injury over the past few weeks but has not missed any time due to it. Meyers was also a limited participant through the opening sessions of practice last week as well. Over his past four games, the veteran wideout has averaged 7.3 receptions with 86.0 yards per game while posting a solid 15.6 PPR points per game. Fantasy managers should view Meyers as a high-floor WR2 in PPR leagues facing the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.Source: Las Vegas Raiders
4 days agoBuffalo Sabres left wing Jordan Greenway (undisclosed) will be out long-term after having surgery. The 27-year-old power forward has been in and out of the lineup due to health issues all season and is now looking at an extended absence. However, the team expects to have Greenway available again at some point later in the season. Greenway has amassed seven points (three goals, four assists) in 20 games while delivering 54 hits. Sam Lafferty (lower body) might be Greenway's replacement in the lineup on Friday versus Toronto. He's recovered from a lower-body injury but needs to be activated from Injured Reserve before he can join the action.Source: Sportsnet
4 days agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (back) was upgraded to a full participant during Thursday's practice. This is a great sign for the wideout as he was a non-participant on Wednesday. Pittman has battled a lingering back injury throughout the season and has only missed one game due to it back in Week 10. Since Week 11, Pittman has averaged 5.5 receptions per game while tallying 60.5 yards per contest. This is a nice improvement compared to the 40.5 yards he averaged per game during the first nine contests of the season. Fantasy managers should monitor his stats on Friday in case he faces a setback, but he is currently on track to be a full-go on Sunday. This weekend, he will face the Tennessee Titans, who have allowed the fifth-fewest PPR points to opposing wide receivers this season.Source: Indianapolis Colts
4 days agoNashville Predators defenseman Roman Josi (lower body) will miss a fourth consecutive game on Thursday against Pittsburgh. The Predators captain has been left nursing a lower-body injury after getting hurt in a game against Calgary on Dec. 10. Nashville has placed Josi on Injured Reserve, which might be a sign that Jeremy Lauzon (lower body is ready to replace him in the lineup. Lauzon has missed 10 games due to a lower-body injury and has been activated from Injured Reserve. With Josi out, Brady Skjei has been skating on the first power-play unit, with Adam Wilsby seeing action with the second unit. The latter enters Thursday's contest with a three-game point streak.Source: Nick Kieser
4 days agoFox 40 Sacramento's Sean Cunningham reported that Sacramento Kings guard Kevin Huerter (shoulder) is available for Thursday's matchup with the Los Angeles Lakers. The 26-year-old had been listed as questionable earlier on Thursday due to a left shoulder strain, but he has since been upgraded to available after missing the Kings last game. Huerter is likely not a strong fantasy option this evening, averaging only 9.9 points per game, his lowest since his rookie season seven years ago.Source: Sean Cunningham
4 days agoAccording to David Furones of Sun Sentinel, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (knee) remained sidelined during Thursday's practice. Waddle sustained this knee injury during last weekend's loss to the Houston Texans. He was unable to return to the game after the injury. Seeing Waddle miss the first two practices of the week does not put him in a good position to be available for this weekend's game. Fantasy managers should monitor Friday's report in case Waddle can make a quick turnaround but should begin to find an alternative option. During Weeks 12 through 14, Waddle was beginning to find his footing on what had been a disappointing season, as he averaged a strong 98.7 yards per game during this span. If Waddle cannot play, Malik Washington would operate as the No.2 wideout and could be a viable flex option in deeper formats.Source: David Furones
4 days agoEdmonton Oilers winger Viktor Arvidsson (undisclosed) will end a 15-game absence on Thursday against Boston. This will be his first appearance since Nov. 12. Arvidsson's first campaign in Edmonton has been full of frustration, as he's totaled only five points (two goals, three assists) in 16 outings. The Swedish forward has been disappointing in a top-six role and will rejoin the lineup on the third line, with Connor Brown and Adam Henrique skating next to him. With a couple of 60-point campaigns under his belt, Arvidsson has proved that he can be a major threat offensively, but he doesn't have much fantasy value right now.Source: Sportsnet
4 days agoVegas Golden Knights forward Nicolas Roy (upper body) will miss his first game of the season on Thursday versus Vancouver. Roy has been cold offensively in recent weeks, and his season has now suffered another setback due to an upper-body injury. In 31 games, Roy has contributed six goals and seven assists. Ivan Barbashev (upper body) will also miss Thursday's action, so the Golden Knights are set to roll out a new-look offense. Cole Schwindt, who has tallied six assists in 24 outings this season, will replace Roy on the fourth line, while Pavel Dorofeyev will fill in for Barbashev on the first line. Meanwhile, Tanner Laczynski will make his season debut on the third line after being called up from the AHL, where he has been red-hot with 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 17 games.Source: SinBin.vegas
4 days agoAccording to David Furones of the Sun Sentinel, wide receiver Tyreek Hill (wrist) returned to practice on Thursday. Hill sat out during Wednesday's session. The veteran wideout has battled this lingering wrist injury throughout the season but has yet to miss time due to it. Fantasy managers should monitor his status on Friday in case he faces a setback, but he is currently on track to be full-go this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers. Last weekend, Hill tallied only 36 yards as the entire Miami offense was very unproductive. However, over his previous four games, Hill averaged a strong 19.3 PPR points per game while tallying at least 76.8 yards per game. Fantasy managers should still view him as a low-end WR1 despite facing a tough San Francisco secondary that has allowed the third-fewest PPR points to opposing wideouts this season. UPDATE: Hill practiced in full on Thursday.Source: David Furones
4 days agoVegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev (upper body) will be sidelined for Thursday's clash against Vancouver. Barbashev suffered an upper-body injury on Sunday versus Minnesota and hasn't been able to practice this week. The 29-year-old lands on the shelf after amassing 30 points (15 goals, 15 assists) in 31 games. With Barbashev unavailable, Pavel Dorofeyev is expected to join Jack Eichel and Mark Stone on the first line. Dorofeyev has had a decent campaign with 12 goals and 18 points in 31 appearances. He'll have additional fantasy value as long as Barbashev remains out.Source: SinBin.vegas
4 days agoAccording to Dan Salomone of Giants.com, quarterback Drew Lock (heel/elbow) was upgraded to a full participant during Thursday's practice. After logging a limited session on Wednesday, Lock is now on track to suit up on Sunday to face the Atlanta Falcons. Lock was unable to suit up last weekend due to these injuries but should be expected to reclaim his starting duties on Sunday. While sidelined, Tommy DeVito got the starting nod and tallied only 68 passing yards during their loss to the Baltimore Ravens before exiting early. In his two previous starts, Lock posted a 51.9% completion rate, averaging 202.5 yards per game with one rushing score. Lock should only be viewed as a desperation QB2 in deep Superflex formats this weekend, facing the Atlanta Falcons, who have allowed the seventh-most PPR points to opposing QBs this season.Source: Dan Salomone
4 days agoAccording to Fox 40 Sacramento's Sean Cunningham, Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis (back) is available to suit up against the Lakers on Thursday. Sabonis has been dealing with a back contusion and was listed as questionable on the King's injury report earlier in the day. The 28-year-old has significantly impacted fantasy, recently registering averages of 23 points, 13.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.1 steals in 35.1 minutes during his last 10 outings.Source: Sean Cunningham
4 days agoTampa Bay Lightning defenseman Janis Moser (lower body) is expected to miss 8-10 weeks of action. He's already been unavailable for a pair of games, and it looks like Moser will have to sit out a couple of months. The 24-year-old has enjoyed a good season among the top-four group in the Lightning defense, recording 10 points (two goals, eight assists), 28 shots, 39 hits, and 19 blocks across 27 appearances. Due to Moser's absence, Darren Raddysh has received a boost in playing time lately. He boasts similar offensive numbers, sitting on nine points (one goal, eight assists) through 21 outings, but offers much less defensively than Moser.Source: Sportsnet
