10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion, shoulder) was listed as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Head coach Shane Steichen said that Pittman remains in the league's concussion protocol, but he's clearly making progress and has a shot to be cleared later this week to play in Week 17 against the Las Vegas Raiders after being forced to sit out of Sunday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The 26-year-old belongs in all starting fantasy lineups for a championship matchup this weekend if he's eventually given the green light to suit up. If Pittman misses a second straight game, the Colts will once again roll with rookie Josh Downs and Alec Pierce as their primary receivers, with tight ends Kylen Granson and rookie Will Mallory also seeing bigger roles in the passing attack.Source: Indianapolis Colts
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen confirmed on Wednesday that wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) is still in the league's concussion protocol "but he's progressing well." Pittman, who is also dealing with a shoulder injury, was forced to sit out of Sunday's Week 16 loss to the Atlanta Falcons after symptoms of his concussion from a week prior resurfaced. It's good news that the 26-year-old pass-catcher is progressing, but if he's unable to get back on the practice field in the next three days, he might be forced to miss a second straight game this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders. When healthy, Pittman is a must-start in all fantasy lineups.Source: CNHI Sports - George Bremer
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Kylen Granson led the team when he reeled in five of his seven targets for 62 yards in the team's 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Indy found themselves struggling to move the ball in this one, and with wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion) out, Granson was able to step up and see some additional volume. The Colts have shuffled around numerous tight ends this season, so it's unclear if Granson's volume will continue moving forward. The former SMU Mustang may be an interesting waiver wire pickup in Week 17 but isn't a sure-fire option for the team's next matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs led the team in targets in wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr's (concussion) absence in the team's 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Downs reeled in six of his nine targets for 39 yards on the day. While he did have a sizable target share, this now marks the fourth game in a row where the rookie has been held to under 40 yards. If Pittman misses their Week 17 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, Downs can be in consideration for a WR3/Flex option with the uptick in volume.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew completed 20 of his 37 passing attempts for 201 yards through the air in the team's 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Minshew threw no touchdowns and one interception on the day. Indy had difficulty moving the ball against Atlanta's defense, and Minshew's fantasy production took a dip as a result. He remains primarily a deeper streaming option in Week 17 when the Colts square off against the Las Vegas Raiders.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 18 times for 43 yards and a touchdown in a 29-10 loss to the Atlanta Falcons. Taylor was not involved in the passing game, seeing just one target which he did not catch. Coming back from his thumb injury, the fifth-year back went right back into his full workload receiving over 85% of the running back opportunities. Taylor will look to keep the momentum going in Week 17 when the Colts face off against the Las Vegas Raiders.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (concussion, shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of the Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. As expected, Pittman will sit this game out after suffering a concussion last week. The Colts aren't going to push anything especially with Pittman dealing with multiple injuries. It's going to be tough for the Colts to fill the void left behind from Pittman. The expectation is that Josh Downs, Alec Pierce, and D.J. Montgomery will see more action in the receiving game. Between the three, Downs has the most fantasy value heading into this matchup.Source: Adam Schefter
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. He had initially been listed as questionable but was trending in the wrong direction after missing all three practices this past week. Jonathan Taylor's return from a three-game absence is coming at the perfect time for the Colts, who can still feel confident about their backfield despite losing Moss. Look for Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson to back up Taylor this week.Source: Ian Rapoport
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts kicker Matt Gay (hip) will not carry a designation into the Week 16 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Gay missed Wednesday's practice, then logged a limited session on Thursday, and on Friday was able to participate in full, per the team's official injury report. On the season, Gay has gone 26-for-33 on field goal attempts and has converted 32 of his 33 extra-point tries. Five of his misses (including the whiffed PAT) have come in the four games since the Colts' Week 11 bye, but Gay saw enough success in the same timeframe to finish as a top-10 kicker three times. On the season he has been a top-10 option nine times and can be counted on for another strong finish on Sunday in the neutral conditions of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.Source: colts.com
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts veteran tight end Mo Alie-Cox is coming off back-to-back games with a touchdown. Alie-Cox has three touchdowns on the season, despite not having more than two receptions in a single game this year. He now gets ready to face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 16, a defense that's allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to the position this season. The former VCU basketball standout has virtually no floor to work with, but fantasy managers in desperate need of filling their tight-end spot can throw in Alie-Cox with the hopes that he finds pay dirt for the third week in a row.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs is coming off a Week 15 win where he caught all three of his targets for just 19 yards through the air. Downs has served as a helpful target for quarterback Gardner Minshew, but his recent form from a fantasy perspective doesn't instill much confidence in fantasy managers for his Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons have allowed the fourth-least fantasy points to opposing receivers, and the sixth-least fantasy points to opposing slot receivers, where the rookie plays the majority of his snaps. Given his recent form, and a tough matchup, fantasy managers should likely keep the former Tar Heel on the bench this week as a WR4/5 option.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew had a decent fantasy outing in Week 15, throwing for three touchdowns in the team's win against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He now gets ready for a Week 16 matchup when the Colts travel to face off against the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons' defense has been an above-average matchup for opposing quarterbacks, allowing the 14th most points to the position. With Minshew's fantasy production being primarily touchdown-dependent, he doesn't make for a strong start in Week 16. This Atlanta defense has allowed just two passing touchdowns in their last four games, tied for the least in the league. Atlanta's recent form should have fantasy managers avoiding Minshew as a QB1 this week, but he does make for a solid 2QB/Superflex league option.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) has been removed from the injury report and will play against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 16. He was a full participant in practice all week long and should be 100 percent on Sunday. The star playmaker ranks as a low-end RB1 in fantasy football, especially against an Atlanta defense surrendering 115.3 scrimmage yards per game to opposing backfields.Source: Indianapolis Colts
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. The 26-year-old had been operating as the Colts' starter with Jonathan Taylor (sidelined), but he picked up a forearm injury during last Saturday's contest and was unable to return. Even if the Utah product does suit up in Week 16, he'll do so as a backup given that Taylor is expected to return. Therefore, Moss is off the fantasy radar in traditional 12-team leagues.Source: Joel A. Erickson
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (thumb) is expected to play on Sunday versus the Atlanta Falcons. Head coach Shane Steichen said the 24-year-old "looks good" and expressed optimism about his availability for Week 16. If confirmed as active, Taylor will return to the low-end RB1 tier after missing three weeks. During the five games prior to his absence, Taylor was averaging 75.4 rushing yards, 15 receiving yards, and 0.8 touchdowns. Managers should have full confidence in Indianapolis' lead back as the fantasy football playoffs continue.Source: Mike Chappell
