10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (concussion) has cleared the league's protocol and will be available for the Week 18 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Palmer will be the No. 1 wideout for this offense with Keenan Allen (heel) ruled out for this game. On paper, Palmer could be an interesting DFS option with the Chiefs likely resting most of their starters. However, Easton Stick will be under center for the Chargers, which doesn't bode well for their offense. Palmer has produced nine receptions for 160 yards and a touchdown in two games with Stick as the starter. Possibly, the two of them team up to have a good performance to close out the regular season.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) won't suit up for the Week 18 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. As expected, Allen will sit out this game after missing practice all week. The Chargers don't have much incentive to run out their superstar wideout in a meaningless game. The veteran wideout has played his final game of the season. He'll carry over an $18 million base salary into next season. We'll see if the Chargers attempt to move on or stick with the oft-injured wideout. Fellow wideout Joshua Palmer (concussion) is expected to have a bigger role during Sunday's game. Although, it's tough to trust any Chargers offensive player with Easton Stick under center.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
10 months agoThe Los Angeles Chargers defense is not worth starting in a Week 18 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Even with the Chiefs likely to go with backups for at least part of the game, the Chargers defense hasn't done enough lately to show that they can be trusted in fantasy matchups. Last week, against Broncos backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham, the Chargers defense recorded just two sacks and no turnovers, finishing with just three fantasy points.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (concussion) was listed as a limited participant in practice for the second straight day as he attempts to return from a concussion and play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. Palmer suffered a concussion in Week 16 and missed the Week 17 loss to the Denver Broncos, but he's making progress this week and could be cleared from the concussion protocol in time to play this Sunday. If the 24-year-old does return, he could be LA's top target for quarterback Easton Stick in the final game of the season. In Weeks 15 and 16, Palmer had nine catches for 160 yards and a touchdown with Keenan Allen (heel) out. Allen has yet to practice this week and seems unlikely to return in a meaningless game. If active, Palmer could be a sneaky DFS play this weekend.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) missed yet another practice on Thursday and looks likely to miss his fourth straight game to close out the season. The Chargers basically shut their top offensive weapon down right after quarterback Justin Herbert (finger) was lost for the year and the team was eliminated from the postseason. It's a disappointing end to what was a fantastic season for the 31-year-old pass catcher. Allen managed to post a career-high 108 receptions on 150 targets for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns in only 13 games played as a top-five fantasy receiver. With Allen likely to sit out in the Week 18 regular season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs, rookie first-rounder Quentin Johnston and Jalen Guyton should have bigger roles, although Joshua Palmer (concussion) could be making his return.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker is a solid kicking option in Week 18 fantasy lineups. The Pro Bowl alternate has had an excellent season and should have the chance to kick a few more field goals against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday afternoon. He's been accurate and clutch all year, making 27 of his 29 field goal attempts (including seven from 50 yards or longer) and all of his extra points.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett could have a strong end to his season in a Week 18 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Everett has taken on a larger role in the second half of the season with injuries striking several LA pass catchers. With Keenan Allen (heel) likely out and Joshua Palmer (concussion) questionable at best, Everett should have another big role on Sunday afternoon. He has a solid floor and some touchdown upside, making him a solid TE1 for the final week of the season.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Quentin Johnston will look to end his disappointing rookie season on a high note in a Week 18 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Johnston, the Chargers first-round pick, has just 36 catches for 414 yards and two touchdowns. He'll have a key role with Keenan Allen (heel) likely out and Joshua Palmer (concussion) possibly limited. Johnston doesn't have much upside even against Chiefs backups. He'll be a WR4.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler will look to stop his slide and end the season on a high note in a Week 18 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Ekeler has had a very bad season, scoring just one touchdown in his past seven games and "earning" Pro Football Focus' worst grade among all NFL running backs since Week 6. In what is likely Ekeler's last game as a Charger and almost certainly his last game as a three-down back, he's an RB3.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Easton Stick is not a recommended fantasy option for a Week 18 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Stick has likely struggled his way out of the QB2 position for next season, but he'll get one more start to wrap up this season for the Chargers, Going up against the Chiefs defense, Stick is unlikely to be able to do much with a thoroughly decimated Los Angeles offense. He's outside of the top-20 fantasy quarterbacks this week, even with several teams resting their starters.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer (concussion) was limited in practice on Wednesday and could have a shot to play in Week 18 against the Kansas City Chiefs after missing the Week 17 loss to the Denver Broncos due to a concussion he suffered in Week 16. The 24-year-old was on the field for the majority of the snaps in his last game played and caught five of his eight targets for 47 yards. Keenan Allen (heel) is likely to close out the year missing his fourth straight game, so if Palmer gains clearance to play this weekend against a Chiefs team likely to rest a lot of their starters, he could be a DFS sleeper that pays off. In the two games that Palmer has played in Weeks 15 and 16 with Allen sidelined, he caught nine of 12 targets for 160 yards and one touchdown.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) missed another practice session on Wednesday. All signs are pointing to Allen missing a meaningless Week 18 regular season finale against the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday. The 31-year-old has missed the last three games. Fantasy managers should have already come to the conclusion that they probably won't have him for Week 18 lineups. If he is inactive this weekend, Allen will finish the 2023 campaign as a top-five fantasy wideout with a career-high 108 receptions for 1,243 yards and seven touchdowns in 13 games played. It's the sixth time in his career that he's reached 1,000 receiving yards. The Bolts will continue to let rookie first-rounder Quentin Johnston get valuable playing time as a top target for quarterback Easton Stick, although Joshua Palmer (concussion) could be back in Week 18.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker made three field goals in a Week 17 loss to the Denver Broncos. Dicker made his field goals from 36, 50, and 52 yards out. He was responsible for all nine points that the Chargers were able to score in another putrid offensive performance without Justin Herbert (finger) under center. Dicker had a 50-yard field goal attempt blocked in the fourth quarter, giving him a rare miss in what has been an impressively accurate season.Source: ESPN.com
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Quentin Johnston made three catches in a Week 17 loss to the Denver Broncos. Johnston was targeted six times and came down with three of them for a total of 29 yards. The first-round rookie was outplayed in the passing game by Alex Erickson and arguably also by Keelan Doss. It's been an awful rookie season for Johnston which will mercifully come to an end next week after a Week 18 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.Source: ESPN.com
10 months agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Gerald Everett made four catches in a Week 17 loss to the Denver Broncos. Everett saw a team-high nine targets, making the four catches for 31 yards including a long gain of 22 yards. Everett has turned into one of the top two receiving targets on this awful version of the Chargers offense and has turned in a decently high TE floor each week. He'll wrap up the season in Week 18 against the Kansas City Chiefs.Source: ESPN.com
