9 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones will travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers in Week 16. The 29-year-old returned to the field for the first time since Week 11 last week and gained 69 total yards against a stiff Tampa Bay run defense. With AJ Dillon (thumb) still listed as questionable, Jones should see the majority of carries in one of the best matchups for a fantasy running back. Carolina has allowed the most rushing touchdowns in the league this year and is tied for the fourth-most receiving touchdowns allowed to running backs. With the Packers wide receiver corps potentially down three options Sunday, Jones could see a heavy workload and plenty of red zone touches against one of the league's worst run defenses. Even if Dillion is active Sunday, consider the veteran a solid RB2 in Week 16.Source: RotoBaller

9 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (knee, finger) has been removed from the injury report and will play against the Carolina Panthers in Week 16. This week was similar to previous weeks in the sense that Jones had been limited in practice but will play, presumably at around 100 percent strength. The 29-year-old had Green Bay's backfield all to himself last Sunday and produced 69 scrimmage yards against a respectable Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. While he gets a much softer matchup this week, Jones will also face competition from AJ Dillon (thumb, questionable). Therefore, the veteran ranks as a low-end RB2 in fantasy football.Source: Matt Schneidman
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (shoulder) is officially questionable to play against the Carolina Panthers in Week 16. He was limited in practice earlier this week and could be a true game-time decision on Sunday. Alexander has already missed six consecutive games and Green Bay would certainly love to get him back for this week's clash against a woeful Panthers offense.Source: Matt Schneidman
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers safety Darnell Savage (shoulder) has officially been ruled out for Week 16 versus the Carolina Panthers. He was sidelined during practice earlier this week and hasn't made enough progress heading into the weekend. Rudy Ford should step up as Green Bay's top free safety with Savage sidelined. Last week, Ford played 62 percent of defensive snaps and registered eight tackles. Source: Matt Schneidman
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receivers Jayden Reed (toe, chest) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) are officially questionable to play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Reed had been absent from practice earlier this week while Wicks was a limited participant. Both players have an opportunity to see increased opportunities in Week 16 with Christian Watson (hamstring) not expected to play. Fantasy managers should view Reed, who has 14 catches and one touchdown over his last two games, as a solid WR3 option on Sunday, but only if he has a near-full workload. Meanwhile, Wicks finds himself in the low-end WR4 tier.Source: Matt Schneidman
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon (thumb) is officially questionable to play against the Carolina Panthers in Week 16. He had been limited in practice and has a chance to return from his one-game absence on Sunday afternoon. While Aaron Jones has a firm hold on the lead-back role in Green Bay, Dillon should carve out some opportunities. If active, he'll get involved on the ground and through the air, ranking as a fantasy RB3 versus one of the league's weakest run defenses.Source: Matt Schneidman
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson (shoulder) is officially doubtful to play against the Carolina Panthers. He remains on injured reserve but has been practicing in a limited capacity after the team designated him to return earlier this week. Looking at the bigger picture, Green Bay has a healthy Aaron Jones (knee, finger) atop its backfield. There is less clarity behind him as AJ Dillon (thumb) is questionable and Patrick Taylor Jr. hasn't been a major contributor this season.Source: Matt Schneidman
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) is officially doubtful to play against the Carolina Panthers in Week 16. This was widely expected after he missed back-to-back practices. The 24-year-old has struggled to stay healthy and is trending towards missing his sixth game this season, assuming he's confirmed as inactive on Sunday. The Packers are fortunate enough to have a solid wide receiver corps that can catch passes from Jordan Love with Watson sidelined. Jayden Reed (toe, chest) is a strong WR3 option while Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) will also warrant some low-end fantasy consideration.Source: Matt Schneidman
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave (kidney) has been ruled out for Week 16 versus the Carolina Panthers. He remains on injured reserve and will miss his fifth consecutive game. This was widely expected, and Week 17 appears to be a much more realistic return date for the rookie. Until he's back, the Packers will deploy fellow rookie Tucker Kraft as their top tight end.Source: Matt Schneidman
9 months agoFor the second straight day this week, Green Bay Packers rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) was limited in the team's practice. Wicks should be able to suit up this weekend against the Carolina Panthers and he could have an even bigger role if both Christian Watson (hamstring) and fellow rookie Jayden Reed (chest, toe) are unable to play. With Watson out each of the last two games, Wicks has caught eight of his 13 targets for 117 yards, including a near 100-yard game in last week's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The matchup against the Panthers is a bottom-five one for opposing pass-catchers this year, but if both Watson and Reed are sidelined this week, Wicks will certainly command some attention as a flex play in deeper leagues.Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers running backs Aaron Jones (knee, finger), AJ Dillon (thumb) and rookie Emanuel Wilson (shoulder) were all limited in Thursday's practice for the second straight day this week. Jones ended a three-game absence by returning in the Week 15 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a game he had 13 carries for 53 yards and four catches for 16 yards. Dillon, on the other hand, missed last week's game due to a broken thumb he suffered in Week 14. Both Jones and Dillon could be available this weekend versus the Carolina Panthers, which would make both RBs more of touchdown-dependent, low-upside RB3/flex options against a Panthers defense that has been better against RBs of late. Wilson, a 24-year-old rookie remains on Injured Reserve but could be activated by Saturday and serve as RB depth behind Jones and Dillon in Week 16.Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel - Tom Silverstein
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receivers Christian Watson (hamstring) and Jayden Reed (toe, chest) both missed a second straight day of practice on Thursday. Watson injured his hamstring in Week 13 and hasn't played the last two weeks. It doesn't appear he's close to returning for Week 16 on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. Reed, meanwhile, has played through some nagging injuries in recent weeks. But he, too, could be in danger of sitting out this weekend, which would leave the Packers with Romeo Doubs and rookie Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) as their top two wideouts. Reed has become somewhat of a must-start after scoring five touchdowns in the last six games for the Packers. Rookie tight end Tucker Kraft would be a lot more interesting as a TE streamer in fantasy if both Watson and Reed are out, too.Source: ESPN.com - Rob Demovsky
