10 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs caught all three of his targets for 48 yards in the team's 23-19 loss to the Houston Texans. Downs led all Colts pass-catchers in yards and caught the team's longest pass-attempt when he reeled in a 28-yard catch. Downs finishes his rookie campaign with 771 yards on 68 catches and two touchdowns. With their Week 18 loss, the Colts are now eliminated from playoff contention.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew completed 13 of his 24 passes for 142 yards in the team's 23-19 loss to the Houston Texans. Minshew struggled to move the ball through the air and wasn't able to convert on a 4th-and-one pass to running back Tyler Goodson with just over a minute left in regulation which ultimately decided the game. Minshew did an excellent job in relief of rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson (shoulder) this season, helping the team to finish with a 9-8 record. Minshew wraps up the 2023 campaign with 3,305 passing yards, a 15 to nine touchdown-to-interception ratio, and another 100 yards rushing. Barring the return of Richardson (shoulder) in the 2024 season, it's likely that Minshew will resume his role as the backup next season.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. caught five of his six targets for 44 yards in the team's 23-19 loss to the Houston Texans. Indy struggled to move the ball through the air in the first half, relying heavily on running back Jonathan Taylor to help them move the chains. Pittman finishes off a phenomenal 2023 season with career highs in receptions (109) and yards (1,152). With their Week 18 loss, the Colts are now eliminated from playoff contention.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor was the lone bright spot in the Colts' 23-19 loss to the Houston Texans on Saturday night. Taylor ran the ball 30 times for a whopping 188 yards on the ground and a touchdown. He reeled in both of his targets for an additional eight yards through the air. Taylor (heel) left the game in the second half briefly with an injury but did return just a few drives later. The 24-year-old closes out the regular season with 894 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns in ten games played. Indy is now eliminated from playoff contention with their Week 18 loss.Source: ESPN
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Will Mallory (hamstring) has been ruled out for the rest of Saturday's game against the Houston Texans. The rookie tight end exited and was ruled out with a hamstring issue during the second quarter. He failed to haul in his lone target of the contest. Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox will be the primary options at tight end for the rest of this contest.Source: Bridget Condon
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) is active ahead of the Week 18 matchup against the Houston Texans. The 26-year-old will make his return to the field after missing the last two games due to a forearm issue. He's expected to split up the role in the backfield with fellow running back Jonathan Taylor. Moss was obviously a much more attractive fantasy option when he was getting a bulk of the carries. Now, DFS players should probably stay away with Taylor back in the mix and the Houston Texans defending well against the running back position.Source: Indianapolis Colts
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm), who is listed as questionable for Saturday night's showdown against the Houston Texans, is expected to play in Week 18, according to sources. It will be the first time the Colts have had him and Jonathan Taylor together in the backfield since Nov. 26, when they combined for 161 total yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. The 26-year-old Moss has missed the last two games and averaged just 2.56 yards per carry on 36 attempts in his last three starts when Taylor was dealing with a thumb injury. Moss did save his fantasy line with nine catches for 54 yards and a touchdown in that span, but he's not going to be a very attractive DFS piece in the regular season finale if he's active this evening. The Texans defense has also allowed the fourth-fewest half-PPR points per game to RBs in the last five weeks.Source: NFL Network - Mike Garofolo
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has slowly returned to his normal form, running the ball 21 times for 96 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 17 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. Taylor has now scored at least one touchdown in his last four matchups and looks to continue the streak in a win-and-in season finale against the Houston Texans. Houston has done a decent job defending the run this season, allowing the third least rushing yards per game and the 15th least fantasy points to opposing running backs. Fellow running back Zack Moss (forearm) is questionable ahead of this matchup, but it will be Taylor in all likelihood getting the vast majority of opportunities regardless of Moss' status. Fantasy managers can expect Indy to play through Taylor in their most important game of the season, and can look to start him as a high-end RB2 accordingly.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Gardner Minshew has been a hit-or-miss fantasy option for most of the 2023 season. In Week 17, he completed 15 of his 23 passes for 224 yards and a touchdown in the team's win against the Las Vegas Raiders. He now gears up for a win-and-in regular-season finale, when the Colts square off against the Texans on Saturday night. Houston has made for a decent matchup for quarterbacks, allowing the ninth most fantasy points to the position. Their secondary has struggled from a yardage perspective as well, allowing the eight most yards through the air this season. With many of fantasy's top QBs sitting out this week, fantasy managers can look to include Minshew as a low-end QB1 this week.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. is looking to close out a great regular season on a high note when the Colts face the Houston Texans on Saturday night. Pittman Jr. cooled off from a five-game stretch of 75+ yard outings when he caught five of his seven targets for 46 yards in Week 17. Houston has made for a decent matchup for wide receivers as of late, allowing the 11th most fantasy points to the position in their last four matchups. The former USC Trojan should be set up for success given the matchup and his ten targets per game average this season. Fantasy managers can rely on Pittman one last time as a potential WR1 option in Indy's win-and-in season finale.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs caught both of his targets for 53 yards in the team's Week 17 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. He now gets ready for a season finale against the Houston Texans on Saturday night, a team that's allowed the 11th most fantasy points to the position over their last four matchups. Downs hasn't been an incredibly consistent option as of late, as last week marked his first game with over 50 total yards since Week 8. Houston has done a good job of defending the slot, allowing the 10th least fantasy points to slot receivers, where Downs plays over 75% of his snaps. With all that in mind, the former Tar Heel makes for a boom-or-bust WR4 option in Week 18 with his big play ability.Source: RotoBaller
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) is officially listed as questionable to play in the Week 18 regular season finale against the division-rival Houston Texans on Saturday evening. Moss was able to put in full practices on Wednesday and Thursday and is on the right side of questionable this week after missing the last two games. Jonathan Taylor is going to remain Indy's primary backfield option in a must-win game on Saturday, but the 26-year-old Moss will return to offer a change-of-pace option for the Colts. Moss had a nice run earlier this year with Taylor still out and managed two 100-yard performances in a three-week span, but he was pretty poor in his last three starts before getting injured, averaging 2.56 yards on 36 carries for 92 rushing yards while adding nine receptions for 54 yards and a touchdown through the air from Weeks 13-15.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) practiced fully on Wednesday as his team prepares to take on the Houston Texans on Saturday. Moss has missed the past two games with a forearm injury but he appears to be on track to return to action this weekend. That being said, Jonathan Taylor has resumed his role as the team's lead back, which will push Moss back into a complementary role. The Colts can grab a Wild Card berth in the playoffs if they beat Houston on Saturday, so expect it to be an all-hands-on-deck situation for Indy.Source: HoustonTexans.com
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss (forearm) was listed as a limited participant for Tuesday's estimated practice report. A right-forearm injury has kept Moss sidelined for the team's last two games, but the 26-year-old could be on the verge of returning for a Week 18 must-win contest at home against the visiting Houston Texans on Saturday evening. Moss may need to put in a full day of practice in the next two days to be cleared to return. He's had his moments this year for the Colts, even after Jonathan Taylor's return, but he'll most likely be looking at backup work and limited offensive snaps if he returns to play this weekend. If Moss is active against Houston, he'll be hard to trust in fantasy lineups.Source: Indianapolis Colts
10 months agoIndianapolis Colts rookie wide receiver Josh Downs caught both of his targets for 53 yards in the team's 23-20 win against the Las Vegas Raiders. The rookie caught a 50-yard deep shot on the team's third play from scrimmage and was then only targeted one more time for a three-yard catch. This also marks the first time Downs has cleared 50 total yards since the team's Week 8 win against the New Orleans Saints. The former Tar Heel has proved to be a viable deep-threat option for quarterback Gardner Minshew but has struggled with consistent fantasy success. He'll look to build on this performance in Week 18 when the Colts face off against the Houston Texans, and fantasy managers can look Downs' way for a boom-or-bust WR3/Flex option.Source: ESPN
