9 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones (finger, knee) was a limited participant in his team's practice on Wednesday. Jones turned in one of his better games of the season in Week 16 but he continues to deal with an assortment of injuries, as has been the case for much of the season. With the Packers set to take on the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17, Jones will have two more chances to get upgraded to a full practice. Stay tuned.Source: Packers.com
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers rookie wide receivers Jayden Reed (chest, toe) and Dontayvion Wicks (chest) took part in the team's practice on Wednesday. Reed didn't practice at all last week and didn't play in the Week 16 win over the Carolina Panthers. Wicks, meanwhile, saw an expanded role before also getting hurt himself in the first half. The fact that both rookies are on the field for the first practice of the week bodes well for their availability in Week 17 on Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings. However, if they both carry questionable tags, they'll be extremely risky options for fantasy managers in the final game of Week 17 action on Sunday evening. Christian Watson (hamstring) remains sidelined at practice, so Romeo Doubs and tight end Tucker Kraft could be in for steady targets for the second week in a row against Minnesota.Source: USA TODAY - Ryan Wood
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (hamstring) stretched with his helmet on but did not take part in individual drills during practice on Wednesday. It sounds like Watson is making some progress, but a DNP to start the week doesn't give fantasy managers a ton of hope that the 24-year-old will be able to play for the first time since straining his right hamstring late in the Week 13 win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Packers were also without rookie Jayden Reed (chest, toe) in the Week 16 win over the Carolina Panthers, which allowed for more targets for Romeo Doubs, rookie Dontayvion Wicks (chest) and rookie tight end Tucker Kraft. Watson will be an extremely volatile flex options for fantasy managers in Week 17 if he returns to practice later this week and plays on Sunday night versus the Minnesota Vikings.Source: USA TODAY - Ryan Wood
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander returned from a six-game absence due to a shoulder injury in Week 16. However, he will not play in Week 17 on Sunday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings after the team suspended him for one game for "conduct detrimental to the team." Alexander reportedly went out for the pre-game coin toss with the team captains despite not being named a captain for the game. He then incorrectly stated the Packers wanted to start on defense rather than defer to the second half. It's an interesting development, and it means he won't be available to help limit Justin Jefferson on Sunday.Source: Rob Demovksy
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft caught four of six targets for 60 yards during the team's 33-30 win over the Carolina Panthers. The rookie caught four passes and gained at least 55 yards for the third week in a row. Green Bay was incredibly thin at wide receiver and lost rookie Dontayvion Wicks (chest) during this contest. With so many injuries to the Packers' pass catchers, Kraft will be right back on the streaming radar next week as the Packers take on the Minnesota Vikings, with the chance of seeing a high target share. Fantasy managers will need to keep an eye on the team's injury report heading into next weekend, but the Packers rookie could be a sneaky good option if Green Bay does not get any receivers back onto the active roster in Week 17.Source: ESPN
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs caught four of five targets for 79 yards and a touchdown during the team's 33-30 win over the Carolina Panthers. The second-year receiver entered the game as a No. 1 option for quarterback Jordan Love and finally delivered with a solid performance. Dontayvion Wick (chest), who entered the game as the No. 2 option, left due to a chest injury. Doubs was able to cap off an already impressive game with a five-yard touchdown grab in the fourth quarter. With Christian Watson (hamstring), Jayden Reed (toe), and now Wicks all on the shelf, Doubs could be a viable flex option with high upside next week against the Minnesota Vikings. Keep an eye on injury reports, but the 23-year-old will be a popular waiver addition this week.Source: ESPN
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon took seven carries for 12 yards and a touchdown during the team's 33-30 win over the Carolina Panthers. The 25-year-old came into the game questionable due to a thumb injury and had his carry count limited, but he found the end zone on a goal-line carry for the first score of the afternoon. Aaron Jones dominated in this game and took the bulk of carries. Next week likely won't be any different when the Packers take on their division rival, the Minnesota Vikings. With Jones back, fantasy managers will be hard-pressed to flex Dillon in any capacity unless truly desperate. Consider the Packers' No. 2 back a low-end flex option in Week 17.Source: ESPN
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones took 21 carries for 127 yards and caught one of three targets for eight yards during the team's 33-30 win over the Carolina Panthers. The veteran had a field day against the hapless Panthers run defense but had a touchdown stolen from him by backfield mate AJ Dillon. The Packers were short three starting receivers deep into the game and needed a big performance from their longtime starting running back to propel them to a much-needed win, and Jones delivered. With the Minnesota Vikings next up on the schedule, fantasy managers can consider the 29-year-old a solid RB2 during the fantasy football championship.Source: ESPN
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love completed 17 of 28 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns, adding two carries for 12 yards and an additional score during the team's 33-30 win over the Carolina Panthers. The 25-year-old was without Christian Watson (hamstring) and Jayden Reed (toe) to start this game and even lost rookie Dontayvion Wicks (chest) to an injury during the contest, but put up a fantastic fantasy performance Sunday. The Packers did plenty of damage on the ground, keeping Love's passing yardage total low, but the first-year starter was able to tally three touchdowns against the lowly Panthers. It will remain to be seen who Love will have at receiver entering the fantasy football championship, but he has a decent matchup against the Minnesota Vikings that will keep him in streaming territory once again.Source: ESPN
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (chest) won't return to Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. He hauled in a 21-yard touchdown right before halftime, but also suffered a chest injury as he tumbled into the end zone. Wicks was in obvious pain on the sideline and the Packers have decided to hold him out for the rest of the game. Romeo Doubs, Malik Heath, and Samori Toure should split up the reps at wide receiver for the rest of this game.Source: Michael Fabiano
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. He had been listed as questionable but will ultimately make his return to the defensive lineup after missing six consecutive games. He'll look to finish the season strong after logging 22 tackles through his first five games. Without a doubt, adding the former Pro Bowler to the fold will be huge for this Green Bay secondary as they take on a woeful Panthers offense.Source: Rob Demovsky
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) is officially active for Week 16 versus the Carolina Panthers. He had been listed as questionable but was trending in the right direction as of Sunday morning. The rookie is coming off a six-catch, 97-yard game and should continue to have a significant role with Christian Watson (hamstring) and Jayden Reed (chest, toe) sidelined. In fact, Wicks might even operate as the top receiver over Romeo Doubs. The rookie is a very strong WR3/FLEX play in Week 16.Source: Rob Demovsky
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receivers Christian Watson (hamstring) and Jayden Reed (toe, chest) are officially inactive for Week 16 versus the Carolina Panthers. Both players missed practice on Friday, so this update should come as no surprise. Watson's multi-week absence continues, but now he's joined on the sideline by Reed, leaving the Packers thin at wide receiver. Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks will lead the way at the position while Tucker Kraft, AJ Dillon, and Aaron Jones also occupy key pass-catching roles.Source: Rob Demovsky
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back AJ Dillon (thumb) is officially active for Week 16 versus the Carolina Panthers. He had been listed as questionable but was trending in the right direction, especially after head coach Matt LaFleur expressed optimism about his status when addressing the media on Friday. Dillon will operate as the No. 2 running back behind Aaron Jones but will still carve out a large role. He's averaging 12.3 touches in games that Jones is active, showcasing his value as both a runner and receiver. He'll rank as a mid-range RB3 option against a Panthers run defense that has allowed the third-most fantasy points to running backs.Source: Ian Rapoport
9 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) had been listed as questionable but is expected to play in Week 16 versus the Carolina Panthers, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. The rookie is coming off a six-catch, 97-yard game and should continue to have a significant role with Christian Watson (hamstring) not expected to play. Even as the No. 3 wide receiver behind Jayden Reed and Romeo Doubs, Wicks has shown enough this season to warrant consideration as a WR3/FLEX play in Week 16.Source: Adam Schefter
