10 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown (heel) did not practice on Wednesday. Brown's inability to practice coming off a Week 14 bye is a slight concern heading into a Week 15 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. That being said, Brown still has chances on Thursday and Friday to return to the practice field. If Brown doesn't end up playing, it would upgrade the prospects of Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch, and Michael Wilson (shoulder), assuming Wilson returns from a shoulder injury that has sidelined him the past few games.Source: AZCardinals.com
10 months agoArizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Michael Wilson (shoulder) was practicing on Monday coming off the bye week. The Cardinals won't hold an official practice until Wednesday, but it's a good sign for Wilson, who has missed the last three games due to his injury. Barring a setback, the 23-year-old will have a good chance to return in Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers. The third-round rookie should reclaim a starting role if he's active this weekend, although he won't be much more than an upside WR4/flex option in deeper fantasy leagues. Wilson has 435 yards and two touchdowns on 28 catches in his first nine NFL games. His return would mean fewer targets for Rondale Moore and Greg Dortch. We'll keep a close eye on Wilson's practice status later this week.Source: Arizona Sports - Tyler Drake
11 months agoThree-time Pro Bowl tight end Zach Ertz has had serious conversations with six teams in the playoff hunt, but he is remaining patient to find the right fit, according to sources. Ertz has over 700 career catches and a game-winning Super Bowl touchdown in his career. He went unclaimed after he was waived by the Arizona Cardinals a few weeks ago and is trying to find the right fit with a contender. The 33-year-old was on Injured Reserve with a quadriceps injury and hasn't played since Week 7, so it remains to be seen how effective he'll even be when he does decide on a new team. Ertz's fantasy value will also depend on his new situation and whether he'll actually be the top pass-catching target or more of a veteran depth option.Source: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero
11 months agoWhen asked about whether the team would consider adding free-agent tight end Zach Ertz, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said, "We like our tight ends. I think right now we'll roll with those guys." Mark Andrews (ankle) is expected to miss the rest of the season, but the Ravens are comfortable using second-year tight end Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar to replace him the rest of the season. Ertz was released by the Arizona Cardinals last week and is free to sign with any team. The veteran tight end wants to go somewhere he can win another Super Bowl ring, with the Bills, Chiefs and Eagles seemingly his best options. Philly makes the most sense given Dallas Goedert's (forearm) injury and the fact that Ertz began his career with the Eagles.Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - Ryan Mink
11 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Rondale Moore's day in Week 13 against the Pittsburgh Steelers could have been much more fruitful, but he ended the 24-10 upset win with just a six-yard pickup on his only catch (two targets). Moore secured a long touchdown catch in the back of the end zone that was called back due to an offensive penalty and he did very little else on a day in which the Cardinals didn't need to throw the ball much after building an early lead and never being threatened by a Steelers offense that lost quarterback Kenny Pickett to an ankle injury early in the first half. He had a 48-yard touchdown catch (his first of the year) in Week 11 but has posted three catches for 41 yards in two games since. The 23-year-old hasn't gone over 50 yards receiving in a single game in 2023 and has a bad matchup in Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers after a bye in Week 14.Source: ESPN.com
11 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch scored his first touchdown of the year in last week's loss to the Los Angeles Rams, but he couldn't continue the momentum in Week 13's upset win in Pittsburgh over the Steelers on Sunday. Dortch finished with just one catch on three targets for a 19-yard gain. More was expected of Dortch in this one with rookie Michael Wilson (shoulder) missing his third straight game and the fact that No. 1 wideout Marquise Brown aggravated his heel injury in this game and didn't catch a single pass. But the Cardinals jumped out to an early lead and never really needed to put their foot on the gas pedal with the passing offense in a game that was delayed twice due to thunderstorms in the area. The Cardinals head into their bye in Week 14, so Brown could be ready to go for Week 15 against the San Francisco 49ers.Source: ESPN.com
11 months agoArizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride hauled in eight catches for 89 yards and a touchdown in the team's 24-10 Week 13 win over Pittsburgh. McBride has arrived, as he had six more catches, six more targets, and 68 more receiving yards than any other player in the Arizona offense. It was an excellent performance highlighted by three catches of at least 15 yards, including a five-yard touchdown just before halftime. Since quarterback Kyler Murray returned, McBride has at least 60 receiving yards in three of four contests and appears to be attempting to make a run at upper-tier status for the position by the end of the year. McBride and the rest of the Cardinals will have a Week 14 bye before a tough Week 15 showdown against the 49ers.Source: ESPN.COM
11 months agoArizona Cardinals running back James Conner carried the rock 25 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-10 Week 13 win over the Steelers. Conner topped 20 carries for just the second time on the season and was able to turn in a strong effort against his former team. His outing was highlighted by a long gain of 29 yards with a pair of touchdowns of one and nine yards out to cap off the stellar day. Conner and the rest of the Arizona offense will face a much stiffer test against the 49ers in Week 15 after returning from their Week 14 bye. He should remain an RB2 for that matchup.Source: ESPN.COM
11 months agoArizona quarterback Kyler Murray completed 13 of 23 passes for 145 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions in Sunday's 24-10 Week 13 win over the Steelers. He also had nine rushes for 20 yards. Murray didn't exactly post great numbers, as the Cardinals leaned on the run game more than usual to dispatch Pittsburgh. This game was odd in that it included two rain delays, so the mediocre stat line wasn't unusual. Despite the conditions, Murray led his team to victory and added his sixth touchdown in the campaign. Arizona will be on bye in Week 14 before taking on the 49ers in a tough Week 15 contest, and Murray should maintain his status as a high-end QB2 for that matchup.Source: ESPN.COM
11 months agoArizona Cardinals running back Emari Demercado (neck) didn't return to Sunday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 24-year-old took a hard shot early in the contest. While he cleared a concussion evaluation, he was ruled out with a neck injury. Demercado missed three games ahead of the Week 12 meeting with the Rams because of a toe injury. However, he could be facing another extended absence, especially since it's a neck injury. But with James Conner atop the depth chart, it will be tough for Demercado to receive routine touches moving ahead.Source: Darren Urban
11 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown (heel) is officially questionable to return against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. At the time of his departure, Brown had commanded three targets but did not have a reception. Michael Wilson (shoulder) is also out, so the Cardinals will lean on Trey McBride, Rondale Moore, and Greg Dortch in the passing game until Brown can return.Source: Amanda Godsey
11 months agoArizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (groin), who was listed as questionable for Week 13, is officially active on Sunday and will play against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. It was reported Saturday that McBride was expected to be available for this contest, and now it's official. Fantasy managers need to leave the 24-year-old locked into their starting fantasy lineups this weekend as a strong TE1 option. McBride only has one touchdown on the year in 12 games played, but in the last three games with quarterback Kyler Murray back from Injured Reserve, he's posted 20 receptions on 25 targets for 234 yards. The Steelers defense hasn't been the friendliest for opposing tight ends in 2023, but McBride needs to be started regardless.Source: Arizona Cardinals
11 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown (heel) is officially active for the Week 13 game on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Meanwhile, fellow wideout Zach Pascal (personal) has been ruled out. Brown didn't practice all week but took a questionable tag into Sunday morning. The 26-year-old was expected to play, and fantasy managers will be hoping that he can build on a nice performance in last week's blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams, when he had six catches for 88 yards on 12 targets. Brown did very little in quarterback Kyler Murray's first two games back from Injured Reserve, but last week's performance gives hope that Brown will continue gaining chemistry with Murray in the final six regular season games of 2023.Source: Arizona Cardinals
11 months agoAccording to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (groin) is likely good to go for Sunday's game versus the Steelers. He missed practice on Wednesday before logging limited sessions on Thursday and Friday, earning him a questionable tag for Week 13. But it appears Kyler Murray will have two of his top receiving options, with Marquise Brown (heel) also expected to be on the field. Nevertheless, McBride has been more involved of late, catching 33 of his 44 targets for 351 yards and a touchdown in his last five games, giving him credibility for all fantasy lineups.Source: Adam Schefter
11 months agoAccording to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown (heel) is projected to suit up for Sunday's game versus the Steelers. The 26-year-old has battled a lingering heel injury and missed some practices during the week. Yet, he battled the same issue ahead of the Week 12 clash with the Rams but still put together one of his best performances of the season by catching six of his 12 targets for 88 yards. That said, Brown hasn't been the most reliable fantasy asset throughout the 2023-24 campaign. But there's no denying his upside, so fantasy managers should classify him as a flex option, at the very least, for Week 13.Source: Adam Schefter
