Arizona Diamondbacks infield prospect Jordan Lawlar continued his strong start to the 2025 campaign on Wednesday, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI for Triple-A Reno. It was his fourth multi-hit performance in the last five games and ninth of the year, boosting his season slash line to .333/.426/.632 with five home runs, 22 RBI, 21 runs scored, and eight steals. That type of multi-category production is what has been expected from him all along, so long as he can stay healthy. With health intact, fantasy managers who have the roster space should be stashing the 22-year-old in all formats, as he can be a solid fantasy contributor across the board whenever he gets the call, which should be within the next couple of weeks.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: MiLB.com

Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong filled up the stat sheet on Wednesday, going 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, one run, and two stolen bases in a 7-6 win over the Dodgers. The youngster has been on fire as of late, as this is his second straight three-hit game and his fifth in his last 13. He started off the season on a cold note, but is now slashing .294/.339/.549 with five home runs, 17 RBI, 21 runs, and 10 stolen bases through 26 games. He's already at half of his 2024 home run total that spanned 123 games, and it looks like the breakout that many hoped for has officially arrived.--Jeremy Heist - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Yanquiel Fernandez went 3-for-6 with two home runs, four RBI, and two runs scored on Wednesday for Triple-A Albuquerque. The two home runs put him atop the minor-league leaderboard with a total of seven home runs, tied with the Athletics' Nick Kurtz, who is now in the major leagues. Fernandez has come alive over the last three games, going 7-for-13 (.538) with a double, four home runs, seven RBI, and five runs scored over that stretch. The 22-year-old owns a .254/.325/.592 slash line through 19 games, and with the Rockies currently with the worst record in baseball while averaging the third-lowest runs per game output, expect the team to see what they have in their sixth-ranked prospect at the major league level at some point this season, perhaps sooner than later if he continues to rake. The left-handed slugger has big power that should play well at Coors, so fantasy managers should take notice whenever he gets the call. --Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: MiLB.com

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Reese Olson earned his third win of the season on Wednesday, pitching 7 ⅓ scoreless innings while striking out seven. He allowed just two hits and one walk. This was his second straight scoreless outing, and it lowered his ERA to 3.29 on the year. It was especially encouraging to see him record 22 outs on the night, as this was his fourth start of his career that has lasted seven innings or longer. He'll look to carry this momentum into his next start, currently lined up against the Astros.--Jeremy Heist - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Jake Mangum (groin) left Wednesday's game in the fourth inning due to left groin tightness, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. He left the game after pulling up while running to first base. The extent of the injury isn't yet known, but more information will be available after he's evaluated further. He's been great so far in the early going of 2025, slashing .338/.384/.397 through 21 games. He hasn't homered yet but is a major threat on the base paths with eight stolen bases. Hopefully the groin issue doesn't impact that speed moving forward. UPDATE: Mangum will undergo imaging on Thursday to learn the severity of his left-groin injury. For what it's worth, Mangum isn't too concerned about the injury.--Jeremy Heist - RotoBallerSource: Marc Topkin

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Ryan Pressly (knee) had his right knee drained on Tuesday night, according to manager Craig Counsell. He hopes for him to be available on Friday. Pressly hasn't pitched since Sunday and was noticeably absent in Wednesday's 7-6 win over the Dodgers, where Porter Hodge picked up his first save of the season. Luckily, the injury doesn't appear to be serious if the Cubs are anticipating a return in a couple of days. He's been solid in the closer role in 2025, posting a 2.45 ERA with four saves through 11 appearances.--Jeremy Heist - RotoBallerSource: Andy Martinez

Kansas City Royals first base prospect Jac Caglianone continued his hot hitting on Wednesday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas, going 2-for-4 with a double for the second straight game. It was also the left-handed hitter's fourth consecutive multi-hit performance, upping his season slash line to .300/.373/.529 with four home runs, 20 RBI, 14 runs scored, and a stolen base. The 2024 first-round draft pick should continue to push for a promotion to Triple-A, and if he proves he can hit there, then don't be surprised to see him get a taste of the big leagues by season's end. The Royals' top prospect (MLB No. 20) has big-time power, graded at 70 per MLB.com's scouting report, and if he doesn't have a fantasy impact in 2025, then 2026 should be the year. Redraft managers may have to wait, but dynasty managers should have the 6-foot-5 slugger stashed away already.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: MiLB.com

Boston Red Sox infield prospect Marcelo Mayer notched his fifth consecutive multi-hit performance in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader for Triple-A Worcester, then followed that up with a sixth straight multi-hit effort in Game 2. The left-handed slugger was 4-for-6 on the day with a walk, a home run, two RBI, and a run scored, now slashing .277/.318/.518 with six home runs and a minor-league-leading 26 RBI through 20 games. There's no clear path to playing time for the 22-year-old, however, he was at DH in Game 1 and at second base in Game 2; with shortstop being his primary position, it's possible he could have some sort of utility role whenever he gets the call in order to get him major league at-bats. As long as he stays hot, the closer his debut becomes, so fantasy managers should stay vigilant if looking for offensive help. --Jarod Rupp - RotoBallerSource: MiLB.com

Out of an abundance of caution, the game on Wednesday night at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City between the Royals and Colorado Rockies has been postponed due to inclement weather and will be played as the second game of a traditional doubleheader on Thursday, starting at 1:10 pm CT. Veteran right-hander Michael Lorenzen was scheduled to toe the rubber for the Royals in this one, with veteran right-hander German Marquez scheduled to make the start for the last-place Rockies. Although nothing is official yet, we'd expect both pitchers to be pushed back to one of the games of the twin bill on Thursday. Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. will now have to wait until Thursday's games to try to extend his current hitting streak to 15 games. He's gone 18-for-50 (.360) with a homer, six doubles, four RBI and four steals during his 14-game hitting streak.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Kansas City Royals

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Zach Eflin (lat) will throw a side session on either Friday or Saturday, according to manager Brandon Hyde. Eflin has been cleared to throw off a mound this weekend for the first time since suffering a right-lat strain back on April 7. The 31-year-old might require several minor-league rehab starts after he throws a couple of bullpen sessions, though, which means we probably won't see him come off the 15-day injured list and rejoin Baltimore's starting rotation until some point in early May, barring a setback. Before his injury, Eflin had a 3.00 ERA and 0.83 WHIP with eight strikeouts and only one walk in 18 innings pitched over his first three starts in 2025. When healthy, Eflin still has fantasy value in mixed leagues, although there isn't a ton of upside after he showed a dip in his strikeout rate a year ago with Tampa and Baltimore.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com - Jake Rill

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Zack Wheeler was tasked with taking the ball against his former team on Wednesday. Wheeler didn't make many mistakes outside of giving up a two-run home run to Brett Baty in the second inning. The right-hander tossed six innings, allowing five hits, two runs, and striking out nine batters along the way. Sadly for Wheeler, the Phillies offense didn't do much as they ended up dropping this game to the New York Mets. Wheeler will take a 3.62 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and his league-leading 50 strikeouts into his next start against the Washington Nationals.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb

Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jared Jones (elbow) is scheduled to undergo a follow-up MRI at some point this week. The 23-year-old has been shut down since late in spring training while dealing with a UCL sprain his in elbow. He hasn't thrown a baseball in quite some time, so it's going to take him weeks to ramp back up. The hope is that the MRI goes well and Jones can start a throwing program soon. After that, Jones will likely need a few rehab starts before rejoining the Pirates rotation. The organization hasn't given much of a timetable, but mid-June seems realistic for Jones to rejoin the Pirates rotation.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Alex Stumpf

Los Angeles Angels infielder Luis Rengifo (tooth) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Rengifo was absent from the starting lineup on Tuesday after getting a root canal. It's worth noting that he came off the bench as a pinch-hitter late in the game. He'll be back at third base and batting seventh against left-hander Andrew Heaney on Wednesday. Rengifo is off to a sluggish start, but remains worth holding in deep leagues and AL-only formats. He has shown he has the ability to be a solid contributor, so hopefully he gets back on track soon.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb.com
