5 months agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) was forced to leave their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a groin injury and did not return. According to Ian Rapoport, the star QB seemed to avoid a major injury but his status for the Week 9 game against the Detroit Lions is "in doubt." The Packers go into their bye in Week 10, so they could play it safe to give him an extra week of rest before returning in Week 11. If that's the case Malik Willis would make another start against a strong Lions defense.Source: Ian Rapoport
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) exited Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He injured his groin early in the contest but managed to play through it. However, it eventually caused his premature departure from the contest. Of course, head coach Matt LaFleur expressed concern over the injury. But NFL Media's Tom Pelissero reported that the team is optimistic Love "avoided a long-term injury." He'll undergo further testing on Monday. But if he can't suit up against the Lions, Malik Willis will take over.Source: Tom Pelissero
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson led the Packers in receptions as they edged the Jaguars in Jacksonville 30-27 in Week 8. Watson tied for the team lead in targets on the day with a six-target effort, bringing in a team-leading four receptions for 39 yards on the afternoon. All six of Watson's targets came with Jordan Love at quarterback, who left in the third quarter with a groin injury. Watson put forth a solid effort, but with the injury to Love and the bevy of pass-catchers involved each week in Green Bay, there's a lot of competition for targets and fantasy point-scoring opportunities. Watson is a boom-or-bust flex option for fantasy managers when the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9.Source: ESPN
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was very quiet on the stat sheet until late in the Packers' 30-27 victory on the road in Jacksonville against the Jaguars. Reed only earned three targets, two receptions and 55 receiving yards on the afternoon, but no reception was bigger than late in the fourth quarter when Malik Willis found Reed on the sideline for the 51-yard catch and run to help set up Brandon McManus' game-winning field goal. It's been a quiet few weeks for Reed, as his target volume has fallen off week by week, but he's still a dynamic player that can hit in a big way for fantasy purposes. Against the Lions in Week 9, Reed is more of a mid-range WR2 with major upside for fantasy managers.Source: ESPN
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs put up solid production in the Packers' 30-27 victory on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Doubs led the Packers' pass-catchers in targets (6) as he caught three of those for 72 yards. Jordan Love (groin) left the game early in the third quarter, leaving backup quarterback Malik Willis to orchestrate the offense. All of Doubs' targets came with Love in the game, as the Packers opted to employ a run-heavy approach for the rest of the game as Willis only had five pass attempts in the game. Doubs has been plenty involved in the offense as of late and that should continue as the Packers host the Detroit Lions in Week 9. Consider Doubs and low-end WR3 option in fantasy if Love is able to play in Week 9.Source: ESPN
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs had a huge day in the Packers' 30-27 victory on the road in Jacksonville against the Jaguars. Jacobs took 25 carries and turned them into 127 rushing yards and two touchdown scores on the afternoon. Kicking off the scoring on the day was Jacobs with a three-yard touchdown plunge early in the first quarter. Jacobs put the Packers in the lead at the end of the third quarter with a 38-yard score, his longest run of the season. He also added one reception for -2 yards on two targets. With Jacobs and the Packers hosting the NFC North-leading Detroit Lions in Week 9, Jacobs should be considered a low-end RB1 in fantasy for the matchup.Source: ESPN
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) will undergo further testing on Monday. The signal-caller injured his groin in Sunday's win over the Jags, and he'd finish the day by throwing for 196 yards and a pick off 14-for-22 passing. Considering Love has battled an injury already this season, any more absences wouldn't be an ideal scenario for fantasy managers. With that in mind, if Love can't go for the NFC North clash with the Lions, Malik Willis would operate under center. Of course, Willis isn't nearly as reliable, so he'd be hard to trust from a fantasy standpoint.Source: Charean Williams
6 months agoThe Green Bay Packers' defense and special teams' unit produced two turnovers in their 30-27 victory on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Packers were decent, but not spectacular as the team could only muster one quarterback sack of Trevor Lawrence on the afternoon. The team did get back into the turnover column after being shut out in Week 7 against the Texans. Safety Xavier McKinney notched his NFL-leading sixth interception on the season in the second quarter and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper forced a sack and forced fumble leading defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt to scoop up Lawrence's fumble. With the Detroit Lions coming into down fresh off of a 52-point effort against the Titans, it's probably a good idea to bench the Packers as your fantasy defense for Week 9.Source: ESPN
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers tight end Tucker Kraft was very productive for the Packers as they were victorious on the road over the Jacksonville Jaguars 30-27. Kraft caught the only touchdown pass on the afternoon from Malik Willis, who entered the game following Jordan Love's exit with a groin injury. With 78 receiving yards, Kraft led the team on the receiving side in Week 8. The Packers' targets are typically spread out among many options, but Kraft has been a consistent contributor throughout the season for fantasy. With the Detroit Lions heading into town for a Week 9 NFC North showdown at the top of the division, consider Kraft a TE1 and as close to a must-start option as it gets at a weak tight end position.Source: ESPN
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers kicker Brandon McManus was perfect on the day as the Packers won in Jacksonville against the Jaguars 30-27. McManus nailed all three of his field goal attempts on the afternoon, nailing kicks from 31, 36, and 24. That 24-yarder was the game winner for the Packers as they got down deep into Jaguars' territory thanks to a 51-yard reception by Jayden Reed and a short run by Chris Brooks where he got into first-down territory inside the five-yard line but slowed down before scoring. McManus also was perfect on the day with his extra point attempts as McManus converted all three. The Packers will host the division-leading Detroit Lions in Week 9, where McManus is a solid kicking streamer in a healthy offensive environment.Source: ESPN
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (groin) exited during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and is officially questionable to return. Love appeared to suffer the injury after attempting a pass. He was unable to shake off the injury and went to the ground, summoning attention from medical personnel. At the time of his departure, Love had completed 14 of 22 passes for 196 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. Malik Willis has taken over as the Packers' quarterback and will remain under center for the duration of Love's absence. Willis impressed during a two-game, turnover-free stretch of football between Weeks 2 and 3.Source: Mia O'Brien
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt (ankle) will play in Week 8 according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Wyatt has been sidelined since Week 5 with an ankle injury but was able to log three limited practice sessions this week. Fantasy managers should expect Wyatt to return to his starting role on the defensive line going forward. During the first four games he tallied ten tackles (eight solo) with three sacks. The 26-year-old should bolster the Green Bay pass rush going forward.Source: Ian Rapoport
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers linebacker Quay Walker (concussion) will not play in Week 8 when the Green Bay Packers face the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 24-year-old has been dealing with a concussion and was unable to pass through the league's protocol before the game. However, he was able to log two limited practice sessions on Thursday and Friday which suggests he may able to return next weekend. Through seven games this season, Walker has tallied 52 tackles (39 solo) and 1.5 sacks. As a result, Isaiah McDuffie should see an uptick in opportunities.Source: Rob Demovsky
6 months agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks has been a boom-or-bust option throughout this season. Last week, Wicks hauled in three of his six targets for 48 yards and a touchdown in the win over the Houston Texans. It was a nice outing from the 23-year-old, but his value is going to be shaky going forward. Wicks falls to fourth on the pecking order with Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Christian Watson all healthy heading into the Week 8 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Wicks should still be involved, but he might not see six targets again. Fantasy managers should view Wicks as a boom-or-bust flex option for Week 8.Source: ESPN
