Texas Rangers shortstop prospect
Sebastian Walcott went 2-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored on Thursday for Double-A Frisco. He was also hit by a pitch and stole a base in the contest. The Rangers' top prospect (MLB No. 16) has now hit safely in 10 of the last 11 games, going 12-for-38 (.316) with four doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI, 12 runs scored, a 10:10 BB:K, and three stolen bases during that time. The 6-foot-4 slugger is slashing .266/.392/.453 on the season and should vie for a promotion to Triple-A in the coming months. The 19-year-old could also find himself ranked within the top 10 prospects by the end of the year, and with a 2026 debut likely, dynasty managers should be stashing the Bahamian who has a strong power/speed combo.

Kenley Jansen worked the ninth inning of Thursday's 4-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Jansen entered the ninth inning with a 4-3 lead, throwing 14 of his 18 pitches for strikes. He allowed a base hit with one out before getting a strikeout for the second out, and he got
Oneil Cruz to line out to end the game while the possible tying run was on first base. The 37-year-old right-hander has converted each of his six save chances and has not allowed a run in eight innings of work while maintaining a 26.7 percent strikeout percentage. With

Chicago White Sox third baseman
Miguel Vargas blasted his first home run of the season in the sixth inning to give the White Sox a 3-0 lead over the Twins in their victory on Thursday. The game was final after seven innings due to weather, but the win for the White Sox salvaged them from getting swept by the Twins in their three-game series. Vargas has been struggling this season, slashing .163/.258/.256 with nine runs scored and seven RBI. For now, he continues to occupy third base for the White Sox and bats towards the bottom of the order. In over four seasons in the MLB, Vargas is a career .173 hitter, so it's challenging to continue to trust Vargas in any fantasy formats. Up next for the White Sox is a three-game series in Sacramento to take on the Athletics.

Hunter Goodman caught Game 1 of the afternoon and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run scored, and crushed his fourth home run of the season off Kansas City Royals ace
Cole Ragans. The home run was a two-run shot that gave the Rockies a 4-2 lead for the moment, before the Rockies coughed up the lead in the bottom half of that inning and eventually lost 7-4. The Rockies have gotten off to a rough start for the season (4-19), but Goodman has been holding his own, slashing .237/.326/.434 with four home runs, 10 runs scored, and 11 RBI on the season. Up next for the Rockies is a three-game series at home against the Cincinnati Reds, where there should be plenty of runs to be had, assuming the weather holds up.

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder
Christopher Morel crushed his third home run of the season in extra innings to help seal the Rays' victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-4 on Thursday evening. The home run came in the clutch, as the Rays had already scored one run in extras, and Morel delivered the insurance runs to give the Rays a three-run lead as they went into the bottom of the 10th. Morel is enjoying a nice season with the Rays thus far, at least offensively and from a fantasy perspective, slashing .268/.333/.465 with three home runs, 12 runs scored, and 10 RBI in 78 plate appearances. He also has position eligibility at third base, second base, and outfield, only increasing his value for fantasy managers as a bench bat. He continues to be a good plug-and-play when hitters get off days or the opportunity presents itself. Next up for Morel is a three-game series against the San Diego Padres over the weekend.

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman
Yandy Diaz played an integral part in helping the Rays win the series' rubber match on Thursday evening against the Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 7-4 in extra innings. He went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Diaz is heating up at the plate over the last two games with back-to-back games of three hits in each contest, boosting his slash line to .248/.286/.400 after a slow start to the season. Diaz is a career .287 hitter, so fantasy managers should be expecting progression on the horizon. In addition, he is not striking out or whiffing often and has an xBA of .285, so fantasy managers should expect the results to follow. The Rays continue their NL East road trip with a three-game series against the San Diego Padres on Friday. Diaz will look to stay hot at the plate and help the Rays finish the week strong.

MacKenzie Gore turned in a quality start in a 2-1 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. Gore allowed two runs on four hits over six innings of work while striking out eight and walking one but wound up with a tough-luck loss in the low-scoring affair. Gore notched a game-high 14 swinging strikes in the contest. The veteran hurler now has a 2-3 record, 3.34 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 53 strikeouts over 35 innings of work as he looks to continue to build upon a breakout year in 2024.
