James Conner totaled 152 yards on 21 touches in the Week 7 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The Cardinals struggled to sustain anything offensively unless Conner had the football. However, Conner failed to reach the end zone; his volume, which included 21 touches, made up for it. Conner made big play after big play and broke many tackles in Monday’s win. Heading into Week 8, the Cardinals will take on the Miami Dolphins, and Conner should remain in all fantasy football starting lineups.

Kyler Murray had a strong performance in the team's 17-15 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. Murray rushed for 64 yards, including a 44-yard go-ahead touchdown run early in the fourth quarter. Through the air, Murray added 145 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on 14 of 25 pass attempts. While those may not be the flashiest passing numbers in the world, Murray took what the defense gave him and was able to make winning plays on the ground. He remains a must-start in fantasy as the Cardinals travel to Miami in Week 8.

Desmond Ridder off of the Arizona Cardinals' practice squad on Monday, according to sources. Ridder will give the Raiders extra QB depth after the team placed
Aidan O'Connell (thumb) on Injured Reserve after he fractured his right thumb in the Week 7 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. O'Connell is expected to miss four to six weeks with his injury. Ridder, the former third-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2022 out of Cincinnati, did not see the field at all in Arizona and is coming off a 2023 campaign in Atlanta that saw him throw for 2,836 yards with 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while completing 64.2% of his pass attempts. For now, he'll serve as
Gardner Minshew II's backup with the Raiders. If he's forced into action, Ridder will be a desperation QB2, at best, in superflex formats.

Trey Benson (illness) is officially active for the Cardinals on Monday night against the Los Angeles Chargers. Benson did not practice on Saturday due to an illness and was listed as questionable on the final injury report, but he will be active and continue to serve as
James Conner's backup. The 22-year-old's role has been limited so far in his first NFL season while working behind Conner, as he has only received 30 rushing attempts for 107 yards (3.6 yards per carry) and no touchdowns while adding two receptions on his two targets for 12 yards. Benson has seen double-digit rushing attempts just once, and that was back in Week 2. Expect a similar limited workload on Monday night against a tough defense. In most fantasy leagues, Benson is merely a handcuff for Conner.

6 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals defense/special teams unit should be left on the waiver wire ahead of their Week 7 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night. The Cardinals' defense had perhaps their worst outing of the season last week against the Packers. They surrendered 34 points and forced the Packers to punt the ball just once. There is some silver lining, though, as the Cardinals defense still could force turnovers, intercepting a pass right before halftime that set up the Cardinals offense in scoring position. While this matchup is better from a fantasy perspective, there are simply better options available for managers in Week 7.

Matt Prater (knee) for the next few weeks, as Prater was placed on injured reserve. Ryland has been solid in relief, going five for six on his field goal attempts and making both of his extra-point attempts over the past two weeks. While he has performed well until the Cardinals' offense finds more consistency, he is not a reliable play in fantasy and would be a risky streaming option at best.

McBride is currently the fourth-ranked tight end of the season and is a lock in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future. He hauled in all eight targets for 96 yards in last week's loss to the Packers. McBride has been a security blanket for the Cardinals and is often targeted on pivotal third downs. With the Cardinals' wide receivers battling injuries, McBride should be relied upon even more. Fantasy managers would like to see him utilized more in the red zone. However, his high target share compensates for it. McBride remains a must-start in Week 7 and for the foreseeable future.
