4 days agoToronto Blue Jays shortstop Leo Jimenez (illness) was scratched from Friday's lineup due to an illness. He was replaced by infield prospect Arjun Nimmala. Fantasy managers should monitor Jimenez's status over the weekend as he may need additional time to recover. Last summer, the 23-year-old made his MLB debut. He held a .229/.329/.358 line with four home runs across 63 contests. He generated a modest .228 xBA with a low 5.7 percent walk rate. Earlier in the summer, Jimenez posted a solid .271/.416/.431 line with eight doubles, seven home runs, with three swiped bags across 57 contests. When healthy, fantasy managers should expect Jimenez to compete for a depth role in the infield. However, if he has a poor showing in camp, he could be on the outside of the Opening Day roster and begin the season at Triple-A.Source: Hazel Mae
4 days agoNew York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson (ankle) will be in the lineup for the first time this season for Friday's road contest against the Memphis Grizzlies. He has been cleared for his season debut after recovering from ankle surgery. With Ariel Hukporti (knee) ruled out for four weeks, Robinson's addition comes at a good time for the Knicks. However, fantasy managers should not expect too much from him, especially with Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) back in the lineup against Memphis.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoNew York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) will be in the lineup on Friday against the Memphis Grizzlies. An issue with his left knee kept Towns sidelined when the Knicks hosted the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night. However, he is ready to rejoin the action on Friday after the team upgraded Towns status from questionable to available. Towns recorded a 24-point, 11-rebound double-double when these teams faced each other for the first time this season.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoToronto Raptors guard/forward Scottie Barnes (hip) has received the all-clear to rejoin the lineup on Friday against the Chicago Bulls. Toronto's young star missed Wednesday's clash against the Indiana Pacers due to a left hip contusion. With Barnes back, Ochai Agbaji is expected to return to the second unit. Barnes makes his return in a good spot, as Chicago's games are often high-scoring. The 23-year-old tallied 20 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and one block in his first meeting with the Bulls this season.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoNew York Yankees right-handed pitcher JT Brubaker (ribs) suffered three broken ribs when he attempted to avoid a comebacker during a spring training contest last weekend. Yankee manager Aaron Boone said that he is "OK" but this injury will "cost him some time." Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status throughout camp. Brubaker spent all of the 2024 campaign in the minor leagues. Across 16 2/3 innings, and held a 2.70 ERA and strong 0.96 WHIP. During the 2022 season, Brubaker logged 144 innings with the Pittsburgh Pirates and held a 469 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP. He tallied 147 punchouts and served up 54 free passes. When healthy, the 31-year-old will likely compete for a long relief role in the majors and could occasionally earn a spot start in the rotation.Source: Greg Joyce
4 days agoChicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic (calf) will not return to the lineup on Friday against the Toronto Raptors. He has been ruled out for a third consecutive game after Vucevic initially carried a doubtful tag on the injury report. Zach Collins has made a good impression in the starting lineup during Vucevic's absence. However, he faces extra competition for playing time on Friday, with Jalen Smith (concussion) back in the mix.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoMiami Heat forward Andrew Wiggins (ankle) will not be in action on Friday against the Indiana Pacers. He drops out of the lineup due to a right ankle sprain. With Wiggins on the shelf, Duncan Robinson and Jaime Jaquez Jr. may play larger roles in the rotation. The latter has logged just 15 total minutes across the last two games. Wiggins was initially listed as questionable for Friday's game, so it appears that his injury isn't too serious. The former Warrior will get his first chance to return on Sunday against the New York Knicks.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoNew York Mets right-handed pitcher Sean Reid-Foley (shoulder) is expected to make the Opening Day roster. The 29-year-old is recovering from a right shoulder impingement. However, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com expects the reliever to have a spot on the 40-man roster if he continues his steady progression. Last season, the right-hander posted a stellar 1.66 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP across 21 2/3 innings. He tallied 25 punchouts but showed weak command of his pitches as he served up walks at a high 15.6 percent rate. However, Reid-Foley was able to generate ground balls at an elite 62.7 percent rate which was well above the average marks. Fantasy managers should monitor his status during camp. If he can make an appearance in spring training, he should be in a good position to start the season in the major leagues. He will likely compete for a high-leverage role in the bullpen.Source: Anthony DiComo
4 days agoMiami Heat forward/center Bam Adebayo (calf) will play against the Indiana Pacers on Friday. Initially, Adebayo was considered questionable for the game due to a right calf contusion. The Heat big man has delivered some of his best performances of the season against the Pacers. He has averaged 24.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in the matchup, shooting 57.4 percent from the field, including 50 percent from downtown.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoPortland Trail Blazers forward Jerami Grant (knee) will not be in action on Friday against the Brooklyn Nets. He has been ruled out with a right knee soreness. The team had initially listed him as questionable for the game. Grant's first chance to return will come in Sunday's tough matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Deni Avdija (quadriceps) has also been ruled out for Friday, opening up minutes for Kris Murray, Shaedon Sharpe, and Dalano Banton. Murray and Sharpe are expected to join the starting lineup.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoNew York Mets relief pitcher Ryne Stanek is viewed as a setup man. Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reported that Stanek is viewed as the right-handed setup man while A.J. Minter is viewed as the left-handed setup pitcher. Edwin Diaz is expected to see the vast majority of save opportunities. Last season, Stanek spent time with the Seattle Mariners and Mets. Across 55 1/3 innings, the 33-year-old posted a 4.88 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP. He tallied an impressive 67 punchouts but held a poor 10.2 percent walk rate. Across this stint, he tallied 18 holds. However, during his 16 1/3 innings in Queens, Stanek posted a high 6.06 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP. Fantasy managers in holds leagues should monitor his status during spring training as he could be a viable target in these leagues, as he would likely enter the game in the eighth innings when facing right-handed hitters.Source: Anthony DiComo
4 days agoPortland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija (quadriceps) will not play in Friday's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. Avdija injured his left quadriceps in Wednesday's game against the Washington Wizards and has been ruled out for Friday after the team initially gave him a questionable designation on the injury report. Shaedon Sharpe is expected to replace Avdija in the first unit, while Kris Murray will likely also be more involved in the rotation.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Roki Sasaki is set to make his spring debut on Tuesday against the Cincinnati Reds. Sasaki will enter the game after starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto starts the game. Sasaki was able to throw three innings in a simulated game earlier in the week and will now make his professional debut. Earlier in the offseason, the Dodgers signed Sasaki earlier in the offseason. The overseas star is set to make his regular season debut in the Tokyo series against the Chicago Cubs. In the 2024 season, the hard-throwing right-hander struck out 129 batters across 111 innings of work in the NPB. He posted a strong 2.35 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. Sasaki will join a Dodger rotation that also welcomed former two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell. Fantasy managers should expect Sasaki to open the season in the rotation and carry high strikeout upside in his debut campaign.Source: David Vassegh
4 days agoBrooklyn Nets guard/forward Cam Thomas (hamstring) will be back on the court Friday against the Portland Trail Blazers. The team has removed him from the injury report ahead of the game. Thomas last saw action on Jan. 2, missing 24 games due to a hamstring injury. Before going down, Thomas enjoyed a big start to the season, averaging a career-high 24.7 points. He will immediately become Brooklyn's top scoring option again, though the team might monitor Thomas' workload following his extended layoff. Keon Johnson and Tyrese Martin will likely have to settle for lesser roles in the rotation now that Thomas is back.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoDetroit Pistons forward Simone Fontecchio (finger) will re-enter the lineup on Friday against the Denver Nuggets. He is back in the fold after missing two games due to a dislocated finger. Fontecchio's return provides an additional frontcourt option for the Pistons, but he is unlikely to have much impact in fantasy basketball. The Italian forward has been limited to 6.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in 17.4 minutes this season.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoDetroit Pistons guard Dennis Schroder (ankle) will be back in the lineup on Friday against the Denver Nuggets. He has been cleared for action after sitting out one game due to a left ankle sprain. Schroder has not been an attractive fantasy piece since his move to Detroit. In six games with the Pistons, the 2023 World Cup MVP has averaged 8.2 points and 4.2 assists in 18.2 minutes. Schroder will continue in a bench role on Friday.Source: NBA Injury Report

4 days agoNew York Yankees left-hander Max Fried will make his Yankees Grapefruit League debut on Monday, March 3, against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Steinbrenner Field, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch. Fried will be pitching in the Bronx for the first time in 2025 after signing an eight-year, $218 million deal with the Yankees over the winter. The 31-year-old southpaw will serve as the team's No. 2 starting pitcher behind right-hander Gerrit Cole after spending the first eight years of his major-league career with the Atlanta Braves. Fried is no stranger to injuries, but he mostly stayed healthy in his final year with the Braves in 2024 and finished with a 3.25 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 166 strikeouts and 57 walks in 174 1/3 innings over 29 regular-season starts. He has only gone over 180 innings once in his eight seasons and has a below-average strikeout rate, making him more of a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 fantasy starting pitcher.Source: MLB.com - Bryan Hoch
4 days agoOklahoma City Thunder forward/center Chet Holmgren (calf) will suit up for Friday's contest against the Atlanta Hawks. His status was initially uncertain for the game after Holmgren was listed on the injury report with a left calf contusion. In his previous outing against the Brooklyn Nets, Holmgren produced one of his best performances of the season, notching 22 points, 17 rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals. He may fill the stat sheet again on Friday against a team that is ranked second in the league in pace.Source: NBA Injury Report

4 days agoDenver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray (knee) will play in Friday's matchup against the Detroit Pistons. He is ready to suit up for the second leg of a back-to-back, despite having logged 40 minutes against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday while managing inflammation in his left knee. Murray is listed regularly on the injury report with the ailment, but he has put together a very impressive run of performances. He has averaged 24.1 points for February with 51.5 percent shooting from three-point range.Source: Denver Nuggets
4 days agoAccording to Jason Beede of the Orlando Sentinel, after undergoing further evaluation, including an MRI, Orlando guard Jalen Suggs (knee, quadriceps) has been diagnosed with a trochlea injury in his left knee and will be out indefinitely. Suggs had already been on the shelf for 14 consecutive games due to what was described as a quadriceps contusion. The 23-year-old has only been able to suit up for three games since the start of the new year. With Suggs out for the foreseeable future, Cole Anthony, Gary Harris and Anthony Black will all continue an uptick in minutes and scoring opportunities.Source: Jason Beede
4 days agoDenver Nuggets forward/center Aaron Gordon (ankle) will not take the court on Friday against the Detroit Pistons. He sprained his left ankle in Thursday's matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks and has been ruled out for Friday's contest after initially landing on the injury report with a questionable tag. Zeke Nnaji and Julian Strawther will be in line for more minutes with Gordon absent from the lineup. Gordon's first chance to return will be on Sunday in a big matchup against the Boston Celtics.Source: NBA Injury Report
4 days agoBoston Celtics center Luke Kornet (personal) will return to the lineup on Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He has missed two games due to a personal matter. With Kristaps Porzingis (illness) out on Friday, we may see Kornet on the floor more than usual. He has performed well for the Celtics in a limited role, averaging 5.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 18.3 minutes this month, with a 78.9 field-goal percentage.Source: Boston Celtics
4 days agoBoston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown (thigh) has been cleared to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. On Wednesday, Brown was unavailable against the Detroit Pistons due to a left thigh contusion, and he was initially regarded as questionable for Friday's action. However, Boston has upgraded Brown's status to available. Brown has struggled this season against the Cavaliers and their tough defense, averaging 16.5 points with 28.6 percent three-point shooting in the matchup.Source: Boston Celtics
4 days agoBoston Celtics forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was a late addition to the injury report due to an illness, and the team has now officially ruled him out. Al Horford will likely replace Porzingis in the starting lineup, with Sam Hauser also potentially seeing more time on the court due to his absence. In his previous appearances as a starter this season, Horford has averaged 9.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 28.8 minutes.Source: Boston Celtics
4 days agoAccording to Zack Cox of the Boston Herald, Boston Celtics center Luke Kornet (personal) is questionable for Friday's matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kornet could miss his third consecutive contest due to personal reasons. The Celtics will lean on Neemias Queta or Xavier Tillman Sr. to fill the backup center role if Kornet is sidelined. With the 29-year-old potentially out of action, fantasy managers' lineups won't be affected as he is not a major contributor in fantasy.Source: Zack Cox
4 days agoOttawa Senators forward Brady Tkachuk (lower body) is poised to return to the lineup on Saturday against the San Jose Sharks. On Friday, Tkachuk told reporters that he is "ready to go." The Senators captain has missed two games after suffering a lower-body injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off. Tkachuk leads Ottawa with 21 goals and has notched 44 points across 56 games this season. He ranks 12th in the league with 188 hits. Shane Pinto (upper body) and Josh Norris (upper body) may also be available again against the Sharks after practicing on Friday.Source: Claire Hanna
4 days agoMontreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The team announced that Dach has undergone successful surgery on his right knee. The 24-year-old is expected to make a full recovery before the start of next season. This is the second campaign in a row that a right knee surgery has ended Dach's season early. He was limited to only two appearances last term. Dach finishes the current campaign with 10 goals and 22 points in 57 games. Owen Beck has replaced Dach on the second line, notching one assist across the past two games.Source: Montreal Canadiens
4 days agoCeltics beat reporter Bobby Krivitsky reports that Boston Celtics guard/forward Jaylen Brown (thigh) was active at the team's shootaround ahead of Friday's matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Brown was out of action during Wednesday's loss to the Pistons due to a thigh injury. However, participating in the shootaround is a good sign that the 28-year-old will be available for Friday's contest. If Brown is on the shelf, Al Horford and Sam Hauser could draw several extra minutes on the floor. Otherwise, the swingman is a must start for fantasy managers if he's available.Source: Bobby Krivitsky
