2 weeks agoMontreal Canadiens defenseman Kaiden Guhle (illness) will be back in the lineup for Saturday's meeting with Washington. He was unavailable on Thursday versus Nashville because of an illness. Justin Barron filled his spot and will likely come out of the lineup again on Saturday. In 20 outings, he's recorded six points (two goals, four assists), 21 shots, 48 blocks, and 26 hits.Source: Montreal Canadiens
2 weeks agoToronto Maple Leafs left wing Max Pacioretty (lower body) will end a 10-game absence in Saturday's matchup against Pittsburgh. He's set to replace Nikita Grebenkin in the lineup. Pacioretty saw top-six action before being taken out by a lower-body injury on Nov. 9. However, he might return on Saturday in a smaller role. The veteran has not been very successful with the Maple Leafs, recording six points (two goals, four assists) in 13 outings. Four of his points came in two games at the end of October.Source: David Alter
2 weeks agoColorado Avalanche forward Ross Colton (foot) is expected to return to the lineup on Saturday versus Detroit. He has been activated from Injured Reserve ahead of the game. A broken foot has kept him sidelined since the end of October. Before suffering the injury, Colton showcased impressive form, scoring eight goals and nine points in 10 games. He'll rejoin the lineup as a member of the second line, linking up with Casey Mittelstadt and Valeri Nichushkin. Colton should also see action with the second power-play unit. He's had five points (four goals, one assist) with the man advantage this season.Source: Colorado Avalanche
2 weeks agoFlorida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky (personal) will be back in action on Saturday against San Jose. He's sat out a pair of contests for personal reasons. Bobrovsky has won each of his last two starts, sporting an 11-5-1 record for the season. The two-time Vezina Trophy winner carries a strong record despite allowing over three goals per game (3.04) and posting a subpar .890 save percentage. Bobrovsky is expected to grab another victory on Saturday, with the Panthers a massive -385 favorite for the game. But the Sharks have had some success lately, going 4-2-0 in their last six contests.Source: Jameson Olive
2 weeks agoVegas Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill stopped 38 of the 40 shots he faced en route to defeating the Dallas Stars to extend their winning streak to three games on Friday. Hill's only mistakes came from a wrist shot by Mavrik Bourque in the second frame and Mason Marchment in the final frame. Hill has won each of his previous three starts and has been quite impressive as of late. Hill has only allowed three or more goals on one occasion over his previous eight starts. During this span, the 28-year-old boasts a stellar .938% SV with a 1.73 GAA and a 6-1-1 record. Overall, Hill sits with a solid 2.63 GAA, .903% SV, and a 12-4-2 record. Fantasy managers should continue to expect Hill to see the vast majority of starts in the crease going forward. He is tentatively scheduled to face the Winnipeg Jets in his next start.Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoMinnesota Wild left wing Kirill Kaprizov tallied a goal and two assists during Friday's victory over the Anaheim Ducks. In the second frame, Kaprizov tallied two assists, one being a primary assist on Marco Rossi's power-play strike and the other a secondary assist on Matthew Boldy's goal. Then, in the third, Kaprizov would extend the Minnesota lead even further by finishing his 17th goal of the campaign. During this game, the 27-year-old also tallied five total shots on goal. Overall, since November 7, Kaprizov has tallied at least one point in all but one game. During this impressive stretch, he has registered 21 points (in 13 games) with a +11 rating. Given his elite offensive production, he should be locked into all lineups and always be considered in DFS formats in any matchup.Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoVancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes tallied two assists during their comeback victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday evening. The Blue Jackets got out to an early two-goal lead in the opening frame, but Vancouver was able to flip the script after the period. Hughes tallied his first helper on the primary assist on Brock Boeser's goal which got Vancouver on the scoresheet. Later in the third, Hughes would tally another primary assist, this time on the power-play on Jake DeBrusk's 12th strike of the season. The 25-year-old defenseman now carries an impressive six-game point streak. During this span, Hughes has tallied at least two points in four of the games. Fantasy managers should continue to view the former seventh-overall selection as a high-end scoring defenseman in all formats. Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoVancouver Canucks goaltender Kevin Lankinen stopped 30 of the 32 shots he faced in his victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday. The Blue Jackets dominated the shot total, but Lankinen was able to lead the way. The Blue Jackets got out to an early two-goal lead thanks to Mathieu Olivier and Damon Severson in the opening frame. After this, Lankinen was able to shut the door to allow Vancouver to rally and eventually take the lead. The 29-year-old now boasts a 5-0-1 record over his previous six starts. During this span, he has posted a .920 save percentage with a 2.44 goals-against average. With Thatcher Demko nearing his return, fantasy managers should expect Lankinen to see a slight dip in playing time, but he could still be a viable fantasy asset in deeper formats given his excellent play.Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoNew York Rangers left wing Artemi Panarin scored twice and tallied an assist during their victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday evening. Panarin found the back of the net both times in the second period. First, he beat Alex Nedeljkovic on a slap shot just under half-way through the frame. Later, with just a few seconds remaining, Panarin earned his second goal on a snap shot. Panarin would then tally the primary assist on Vincent Trocheck's goal in the final minutes of the third period to put the game out of reach. This outing extended Panarin's point streak to three games, which is a great sign for the 33-year-old, as he tallied just two points over his previous six before this stretch. Despite New York winning just two games out of their last eight, fantasy managers should continue viewing Panarin as an elite winger with immense scoring upside.Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoWashington Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren stopped 20 of the 21 shots he faced en route to defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs. Lindgren's lone blemish came in the second frame when John Tavares beat him on his backhand. This was also a nice bounce-back showing for the 30-year-old, as he has allowed nine goals over his past two starts combined. This was only the second time this season that Lindgren allowed just one goal or fewer. Since the start of November, Lindgren has held a .900% SV with a modest 2.91 GAA. Throughout the season, Lindgren and Logan Thompson have shared the Washington crease. However, given that Thompson boasts a 10-1 record, fantasy managers should continue to expect him to see the slight majority of starts.Source: NHL.com
2 weeks agoPittsburgh Penguins goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic will get the nod for Friday's matchup against the Rangers. He will log his 12th start of the campaign as Pittsburgh kicks off a back-to-back. Tristan Jarry appears set to battle the Maple Leafs on Saturday. Nedeljkovic has gone 2-1-1 over his last four starts, beating Calgary 6-2 with a 30-save effort in his previous appearance. However, he's mostly struggled during the season, putting together a 4-4-3 record with a 3.31 goals-against average and a .883 save percentage. It's a meeting between a slumping and a surging team at Madison Square Garden, as the Penguins are riding a four-game winning streak, and the Rangers have gone 1-6-0 in their past seven outings.Source: Michelle Crechiolo
2 weeks agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz is the team's projected starter for Friday's tilt against Washington. The Maple Leafs close out the week with a back-to-back, and Stolarz is set to handle the first leg. Joseph Woll will likely be between the sticks in Saturday's matchup against Pittsburgh. Stolarz already boasts one win from this week, having beaten Chicago 4-1 with 27 saves on Monday. He's flipped between wins and losses over his last five starts. Despite his recent inconsistency, Stolarz is sporting a good 8-4-2 record. He has allowed 2.23 goals with a fantastic .924 save percentage and one shutout. Stolarz is expected to boost his wins total on Friday, as the Capitals head to Toronto without Alex Ovechkin (lower leg) and are +125 underdogs for the clash.Source: David Alter
2 weeks agoNew Jersey Devils left wing Tomas Tatar (lower body) is ready to end a brief two-game absence on Friday versus Seattle. Tatar will line up with Dawson Mercer and Erik Haula (undisclosed) on the third line. The latter is good to go for the contest after missing Tuesday's practice. Tatar's role is limited on the team, but he's been productive in his recent outings, posting four points (one goal, three assists) in five appearances. His work across the season includes three goals and six assists in 26 games.Source: Kristy Flannery
2 weeks agoVancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko (knee) will be back in the lineup for Friday's meeting with Columbus. He will dress as Kevin Lankinen's backup. Demko has yet to play this season due to a knee injury. It's possible he will make his first start of the campaign on Sunday versus Tampa Bay. Demko should resume his duties as Vancouver's No. 1 between the sticks, although Lankinen has put in impressive performances during his absence. The Finnish netminder enters Friday's action with a 12-3-3 record. He recently posted a new NHL record for the longest road winning streak to start a season. Lankinen picked up 10 consecutive away wins before finally being defeated 3-2 in overtime against Minnesota on Tuesday.Source: NHL
2 weeks agoVegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone (lower body) will rejoin the lineup for Friday's tilt against Dallas. After returning to practice earlier in the week, Stone is finally ready to end a 14-game absence. Despite missing Stone for a month, Vegas has played well, topping the Pacific Division, but the return of the team captain should provide a further boost for the squad. Stone was off to a superb start to the season before running into another injury. He went scoreless in just one of his 13 appearances, amassing 21 points (six goals, 15 assists). Stone will be back with Jack Eichel and Ivan Barbashev on the top line and has a spot reserved on the first power-play unit.Source: ESPN
