4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker is a good fantasy option once again in a Week 15 game against the Tampa Bay Bucs. Dicker has made 28 of his 30 field goal kicks and 23 of his 26 extra point tries so far this season. He remains one of the more consistent and reliable kickers, which is very out of the ordinary in recent Chargers history. In Week 15, Dicker and the Bolts face a Bucs team in a game that should offer enough scoring chances to bring Dicker back into the top-10 scoring fantasy kickers.Source: RotoBaller
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Stone Smartt is set to take over the starting role in a Week 15 game against the Tampa Bay Bucs. Smartt took over in the second half last week after starter Will Dissly (shoulder) was forced to leave the game. With Dissly still recovering, Smartt will be the starter in at least Week 15 from the first snap of the game. Last week, in the second half, Smartt saw a 25% target share and put up three catches for 54 yards. More importantly, it was clear that the Chargers had faith in him as a pass catcher on critical plays. This week, he gets a nice soft landing against a Bucs defense that has allowed the second-most receiving yards to opposing tight ends. Smartt was one of the more popular waiver wire grabs this week, and he finds himself near the top of TE2 rankings with some nice touchdown upside.Source: RotoBaller
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers rookie running back Kimani Vidal has seen his role grow lately but heads into Week 15 with a tough matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Vidal played on 53% of the team's offensive snaps in Week 14, but that translated to just eight carries for 34 yards and no receptions. He seems to be slowly but surely taking over the backfield from an ineffective Gus Edwards while starter J.K. Dobbins (knee) remains out. Despite his growth into a larger role, Week 15 will have him face a Tampa Bay defense that has allowed the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game since Week 9, making Vidal an RB4 with limited upside.Source: RotoBaller
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Gus Edwards is an uninspiring fantasy option in a Week 15 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Edwards has been running like he's out of gas all season, as shown by a 13% missed tackle rate and just 2.2 yards after contact per attempt. Still, he maintains a key role on the Chargers offense, as he's recorded 43% or more of the team's offensive snaps over the past two weeks, including 42% of the red zone snaps. He's a thoroughly touchdown-dependent option in fantasy right now, with most fantasy playoff teams almost certainly rostering multiple stronger options.Source: RotoBaller
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers rookie running back Ladd McConkey (knee, shoulder) was limited again in practice on Thursday for the second straight day this week. McConkey was inactive for the team's Week 14 loss to the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. It's good news that the 23-year-old second-round rookie is practicing at all, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll return for a Week 15 clash against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fantasy managers would really like to see the Georgia product return to a full practice on Friday. With McConkey out last week, receivers Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer both saw added involvement in the aerial attack. If McConkey gets the green light to play this weekend, he should be returned to starting fantasy lineups. He leads the Bolts in most receiving categories and is tied for 32nd among all wideouts in average half-PPR points per game in 2024.Source: Los Angeles Chargers
4 months agoAccording to Daniel Popper of The Athletic, Los Angeles Chargers tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) remained sidelined during Thursday's practice. Dissly will now have just one more opportunity to log a practice session before the weekend. Earlier in the week, it was reported that Dissly would likely miss a "couple of weeks." However, fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status on Friday, as he has not officially been ruled out for this weekend's tilt against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After averaging a solid 11.7 PPR points per game during Weeks 10 through 12, the veteran tight end took a step back over the past two weeks, tallying just two catches for 19 yards. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect to have Dissly. Instead, Stone Smartt could be a sneaky TE2 streamer in DFS.Source: Daniel Popper
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle, thigh) returned to practice on Thursday, according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic. Herbert was unable to practice on Wednesday, and seeing him back on the field just one day later is a positive sign for his availability over the weekend. Fantasy managers should pay close attention to his status on the injury report later on Thursday in case he was only able to log a limited session. Herbert sustained these injuries during last weekend's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. In this game, Herbert tallied only 213 yards and a score. However, in his previous six contests, the Oregon product has averaged a solid 21.2 PPR points per game and tallied nine total scores during this span. If Herbert can suit up this weekend, he should be viewed as a solid QB1 facing a weak Tampa Bay secondary that has allowed the most PPR points to opposing QBs this season. UPDATE: Herbert was limited on Thursday.Source: Daniel Popper
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle, leg) did not take part in the team's practice on Wednesday after head coach Jim Harbaugh said "we'll see" when asked if Herbert would practice. With Herbert out, Taylor Heinicke and Easton Stick saw action under center. The 26-year-old Herbert took a hard hit in Sunday night's loss to the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs and looked to be in quite a bit of pain, but he ended up missing only one play, finished out the contest, and didn't look to be slowed by his ankle/leg injury. Herbert is as tough as they come and should be available for a Week 15 tilt against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday, even if he misses a few practice sessions. Fantasy managers hoping for QB1 value this weekend from Herbert would like to see his top wideout, rookie Ladd McConkey (knee) return after missing Week 14.Source: Chargers.com - Eric Smith
4 months agoAccording to Daniel Popper of The Athletic, Los Angeles Chargers rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey (knee) was seen at practice on Wednesday. This is a great sign, as the Georgia product was unable to suit up last weekend due to a knee injury. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status throughout the week, but seeing him back at practice on Wednesday suggests he should be in line to return to action this weekend. Over his previous six games, the rookie has begun to find his footing at the professional level, as he has averaged 16.8 PPR points per game during this span with 91.7 yards per game. If McConkey can return this weekend, he should be started in all formats facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have allowed the eighth-highest PPR points to opposing wideouts. UPDATE: McConkey was limited on Wednesday.Source: Daniel Popper
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said that he does not expect tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) to practice on Wednesday. Dissly injured his shoulder on the final play of the first half in the Week 14 loss to the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night and is expected to miss multiple weeks, so the fact he's not practicing on Wednesday is not a surprise at all. The 28-year-old has been dropped in many fantasy leagues already and almost certainly will be ruled out on Friday for the Week 15 game on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Dissly is likely to avoid Injured Reserve, though, which means he could return before the Week 18 regular-season finale versus the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. Stone Smartt should operate as LA's top pass-catching TE for as long as Dissly is sidelined, putting him on the TE2 streaming map for fantasy managers.Source: Alex Insdorf
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said that quarterback Justin Herbert (ankle, leg) is dealing with a leg contusion in addition to an "ankle injury." "He'll be doing everything and anything in his power to play on Sunday. We'll see about (practice) today," Harbaugh said. Herbert took a shot to his leg in the Week 14 loss to the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night but only ended up missing one play and downplayed the injury after the game. The 26-year-old is also dealing with an ankle injury, though, and his status should be closely monitored heading into Sunday's tilt against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Herbert is one of the toughest QBs in the league, so we'd expect him to be out there in Week 15, but his practice reps could be limited this week and he might not be as mobile outside the pocket against Tampa. He'll be on the QB1/2 borderline in Week 15 if he's active.Source: Alex Insdorf
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers tight end Will Dissly (shoulder) suffered a shoulder injury in the Sunday night loss to the Kansas City Chiefs that is likely to keep him out for a couple of weeks, according to sources. Injured Reserve isn't considered likely for Dissly right now, which is good, because an IR placement would require him to miss the final four weeks of the regular season. In his first season with the Bolts, he's been productive for LA with 43 receptions, 418 receiving yards and one touchdown. The 28-year-old injured his shoulder on the final play before halftime on Sunday night and was unable to return. He'll at least be out this Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and could miss the Thursday night game in Week 16 against the division-rival Denver Broncos as well. Stone Smartt, who had a season-high 54 yards on Sunday night, will take over as the starter and will be worth a look as a TE2 streamer in fantasy.Source: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert (leg) suffered a left-leg contusion in the Sunday night loss to the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14, but Herbert said he doesn't expect the injury to affect him going forward. He took a hard hit to his left lower thigh late in the second quarter and eventually limped to the sideline. Herbert took a play off but then return to action and finished out the game without any issues. "Tough as they come, warrior," head coach Jim Harbaugh said of Herbert. The 26-year-old finished 21-for-30 passing with 213 yards and one touchdown. Herbert should be fine to play in Week 15 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but his upside as a low-end QB1 in fantasy will likely come down to whether rookie receiver Ladd McConkey (knee, shoulder) ends up missing his second straight game.Source: ESPN.com - Kris Rhim
4 months agoThe Los Angeles Chargers defense played well despite a tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in a Week 14 loss. The Bolts were able to limit Patrick Mahomes and his offense to 306 total yards and 19 points. They sacked the quarterback three times, but weren't able to record any turnovers or scores. In total, it was good for a five point performance in standard scoring leagues. They'll face the Tampa Bay offense in Week 15 coming up.Source: ESPN.com
4 months agoLos Angeles Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker made all three of his kicks in a Week 14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Dicker made both of his extra point attempts and also nailed a field goal from 37 yards out in the fourth quarter. "Dicker the Kicker" continues to be one of the more consistent and reliable options in fantasy football's least consistent and reliable position. He'll get to kick against Tampa Bay in Week 15.Source: ESPN.com
