3 days agoThe New York Yankees signed utilityman Pablo Reyes and right-hander Cristian Hernandez to minor-league deals on Monday. Reyes, 31, has six seasons of MLB experience, most recently playing for the Boston Red Sox and New York Mets in 2024, where he hit a combined .183/.234/.217 with no homers and five RBI in 22 games played. He has played every position on the field except catcher and sports a career .248/.309/.349 slash line with eight homers, 54 RBI and 13 steals in 233 games. Hernandez, 24, has not pitched above Double-A and had a 3.40 ERA with 44 strikeouts and nine stolen bases in 42 1/3 innings for Double-A Reading in the Philadelphia Phillies organization this past season. Reyes, given his experience, is probably the better bet to play for the Yankees during the 2025 season as a utility bench option.Source: New York Daily News - Gary Phillips
3 days agoAtlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson (leg) has been ruled out of Monday's game against the Sacramento Kings. The team announced that Johnson is dealing with left lateral lower leg inflammation. The 22-year-old has been an integral part of the Hawks' lineup, averaging 19.4 PPG, 9.9 RPG and 5.4 APG. Garrison Mathews is starting in Johnson's place, though Johnson's absence should mean more expected points production from rookie Zaccarie Risacher and more rebounding production from Clint Capela. Fantasy managers and DFS managers may find more value in Risacher than Capela.Source: Atlanta Hawks
3 days agoFree-agent outfielder Juan Soto has already met with the Toronto Blue Jays, Boston Red Sox and New York Mets, and his agent, Scott Boras, met with the New York Yankees on Monday. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the next team up to meet with Soto, possibly as early as Tuesday, according to sources. No conclusion is expected before Thanksgiving next Thursday, but the feeling around the industry is that he could make a decision before the winter meetings, which begin on Dec. 9. The superstar outfielder is expected to sign a deal for at least 10 years and for a dollar amount that could exceed $600 million. One source said Soto has spoken with at least one other mystery team. Other teams that could meet with Soto include the Giants, Phillies and Rays, with Tampa being the biggest long shot. The Mets and Yankees are considered the favorites to secure Soto's services this offseason.Source: MLB.com - Mark Feinsand
3 days agoSan Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw (Achilles) could have his 21-day practice window opened this week. Greenlaw has been on the injured reserve all season after suffering a torn Achilles during the Super Bowl. It sounds like Greenlaw is close to making it back on the field. The expectation is that Greenlaw will need to practice for a few weeks before getting back into game action. This defensive unit could certainly use Greenlaw's help, but the team isn't going to rush him back to the field. Greenlaw getting back to practice this week would be a huge step forward in his recovery process.Source: David Lombardi
3 days agoDenver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic (personal) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. If he's unable to play it will be his third straight game missed. Expect Dario Saric to be back in the lineup on Tuesday if the 29-year-old doesn't play. Saric has started both games that Jokic has missed and has provided decent fantasy value from a rebounding perspective, grabbing eight and 10 boards in his two starts. He's been much less productive scoring, notching only nine and 10 points in his two starts. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues may find more value in starting Saric but other fantasy managers and DFS players may be able to find better options.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoDetroit Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone (forearm) has been placed on Injured Reserve on Monday. This is another big hit to the Lions defense. Anzalone suffered a broken forearm during Sunday's win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. The organization said Anzalone is set to miss 6-8 weeks while he recovers from this injury. There's a chance he's ready by the end of the season or in time for the playoffs. Anzalone has 56 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and one sack through nine games this season. Jack Campbell figures to start in his place going forward. This Lions defense can't take too many more hits with a handful of defenders already on the injured reserve.Source: The Detroit News
3 days agoFree-agent right-hander Deivi Garcia agreed with the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday on a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to major-league spring training, according to sources. Garcia was once a top prospect in the New York Yankees system and will now become a reclamation project for the Brewers. The 25-year-old's stuff still grades out well despite sporting a 7.07 ERA (5.24 FIP), 1.93 WHIP, 15 strikeouts and 11 walks in 14 innings out of the bullpen at the major-league level with the Chicago White Sox in 2024. He was no better at Triple-A Charlotte on the farm with a 6.18 ERA. Garcia debuted with the Yankees in the COVID-shortened 2020 season and has a 5.02 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with a 20.4% strikeout rate and 10.3% walk rate. He's going to need to lower his walk rate significantly if he wants to resurface in the big leagues with the Brew Crew.Source: ESPN.com - Jeff Passan
3 days agoNew York Yankees right-hander Luis Gil was named the 2024 American League Rookie of the Year on Monday night. Gil had a phenomenal year, considering he was two-plus years removed from Tommy John surgery. The 26-year-old received 15 of the 30 first-place votes to narrowly top Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser. Gil was initially expected to begin the year in the minors to work on his command after throwing just four innings at Single-A in 2023. He ended up making the Opening Day rotation, though, and took advantage, going 15-7 with a 3.50 ERA in 29 starts. Gil led all AL rookies in wins, innings pitched (151 2/3) and strikeouts (171). The Dominican hurler allowed one or fewer hits in five outings, which tied for the most by a rookie since the mound was moved in 1893. In winning the award, Gil became the 10th Yankees player to do so.Source: MLB
3 days agoGolden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry (knee) is expected to play on Tuesday night in the Warriors' game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Head coach Steve Kerr mentioned he didn't even know Curry was on the injury list. The 36-year-old was a little banged up after last game but it'd appear he should be good to go on Monday. Curry has averaged 22.7 PPG this season and is a must start in all fantasy formats. He put up 18 points, four rebounds and six assists when Golden State met up with the Clippers earlier this season. Expect similar, if not better production out of the future hall of famer.Source: Anthony Slater
3 days agoSan Francisco 49ers left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) is dealing with some soreness following Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Williams was uncertain coming into Sunday's contest due to a lingering ankle issue. However, the All-Pro tackle battled through the pain and suit up over the weekend. He was able to get through the contest, but Williams is now reportedly dealing with soreness in his ankle. This is something the team will likely continue to monitor and might even limit him in practice this week. Williams has played in all 10 games this season and is a significant part to this offense, so hopefully he won't be forced to miss any time.Source: Cam Inman
3 days agoDallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of Monday's game against the Houston Texans. Yikes, the injuries continue to pile up on the Cowboys as Ferguson was forced to exit early in the first quarter with a head injury. He has now been ruled out for the rest of the contest and placed into the league's concussion protocol. Ferguson caught his lone target for 11 yards before exiting the contest. Luke Schoonmaker will take over as the primary tight end for the rest of this game. He has eight receptions for 56 yards coming into Monday's contest. He might have some streaming appeal next week if Ferguson is unable to play next Sunday.Source: Clarence Hill Jr.
3 days agoPittsburgh Pirates right-hander Paul Skenes was named the 2024 National League Rookie of the Year on Monday evening. Skenes, last year's first overall pick out of LSU, debuted less than a year after being drafted and is a generational talent at the position. The 22-year-old went 11-3 with a 1.96 ERA over 23 starts in 133 innings for the Pirates this year, and his 170 strikeouts were a franchise record. His ERA was the lowest for a rookie pitcher with at least 20 starts in the live-ball era (dating to 1920) and the lowest of any pitcher in 2024 with at least 130 innings. Skenes' fWAR was 10th among big-league pitchers, and he was also named one of the finalists for the NL Cy Young, joining lefty Chris Sale and right-hander Zack Wheeler. Skenes is already one of the most dominant pitchers in the sport and will be a highly-coveted fantasy ace in 2025.Source: MLB
3 days agoThe New York Jets signed kicker Anders Carlson to their 53-man active roster on Monday after the Kansas City Chiefs swooped Spencer Shrader off their practice squad last week. In his debut with the Jets in the 28-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Carlson made both of his field-goal attempts (long of 58 yards) and all three of his extra-point tries. The 26-year-old struggled with the Green Bay Packers in his rookie season in 2023, making only 81.8% of his 33 field-goal attempts before the Packers cut him in training camp. Carlson had a two-game stint with the San Francisco 49ers earlier this year while filling in for the injured Jake Moody and made all five of his field-goal opportunities while missing one of his four extra points. At best, Carlson will be a deep-league streaming option in fantasy with Greg Zuerlein (knee) still on Injured Reserve.Source: ESPN New York - Rich Cimini
3 days agoNew Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado (hamstring) has been ruled out ahead of Tuesday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. This will be the fourth straight game that Alvarado has missed due to his hamstring strain. With the Pelicans dealing with a litany of injuries, the sooner the 26-year-old can get his high-energy style back on the court the better. Expect Brandon Boston Jr. (12.3 PPG) to continue getting additional minutes.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore (shoulder) was listed as limited on the team's Monday practice estimation ahead of their Week 12 game on Thursday night versus the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers. Moore is most likely being rested on a short week and should be able to suit up on Thursday after catching six of his eight targets for 66 yards and his first touchdown of the season in the 35-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday in Week 11. The 24-year-old pass-catcher has benefitted from the switch from quarterback Deshaun Watson (Achilles) to Jameis Winston, catching 17 passes for 179 yards and a touchdown in the three games since Winston took over under center. Despite the recent uptick in production for Moore, fantasy managers should be looking to fade him in the upcoming Week 12 matchup against the Steelers on Thursday.Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
3 days agoSacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis (back) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks. Sabonis had been listed as doubtful so him missing Monday's game is not a surprise. He also missed Saturday's game against the Utah Jazz with lower back tightness. The team announced today that the 28-year-old has made "significant improvement" on his back injury and was cleared for on-court workouts, a positive sign for the Kings. In his absence, expect Trey Lyles and Doug McDermott to get more opportunities for the injury-riddled Kings. Neither has been a viable fantasy option this season. However, DFS managers may want to consider both as longshots against the Atlanta Hawks. Both can shoot the ball well from three and Atlanta gives up the most three-point attempts per game.Source: James Ham
3 days agoBrooklyn Nets forward Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle) is probable for Tuesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets. The 31-year-old is dealing with a left ankle sprain but is expected to play through it. After missing two games, Finney-Smith returned to the starting lineup on Friday and has played well in his last two appearances, scoring at least 15 points in both games against the New York Knicks. As a key part of the Nets' rotation, he averages nearly 30 minutes per game, contributing 10.9 points and 4.8 rebounds this season.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoBrooklyn Nets forward Ziaire Williams (hip) is listed as probable for Tuesday's matchup against the Charlotte Hornets with right-hip tightness. The 23-year-old has yet to miss a game this season and is trending toward playing. Williams has been steadily improving, posting career-best averages of 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, along with standout performances like his 23-point effort against the Boston Celtics last week.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoOklahoma City Thunder guard Isaiah Joe (calf) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs due to a left calf contusion. The 25-year-old will miss the first half of the Thunder's back-to-back set as he recovers from the injury. Joe, who is averaging 9.0 points per game across 14 appearances this season, is considered doubtful for Wednesday's home matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. Aaron Wiggins may see increased playing time in his absence.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoCleveland Browns tight end David Njoku (knee) is on the Week 12 injury report and was listed as limited on Monday's estimated practice report ahead of the Thursday night game versus the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers. Njoku's knee injury will be something to watch, but the Browns are likely just giving him some extra rest on a short week, and he should be available to play against Pittsburgh. Similar to last year, the 28-year-old's fantasy value has gone up after the season-ending injury to Deshaun Watson (Achilles). In the three games since Jameis Winston has taken over, Njoku has 19 catches for 171 yards and a touchdown. He came down with all nine of his targets for 81 yards in Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints. The matchup against the Steelers won't be easy, but Njoku should at least garner attention as a low-end TE1 if he's active.Source: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot
3 days agoCharlotte Hornets guard Tre Mann (back) is listed as questionable for Tuesday's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. The 23-year-old missed Sunday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers as he continues to deal with a lower-back injury. On the season, Mann has been a reliable presence for the Hornets, averaging 14.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. If he is unable to play, Vasilije Micic and Seth Curry could see expanded opportunities to contribute off the bench for Charlotte.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoSan Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa (hips, obliques) will be evaluated throughout the week after being forced from the Week 11 loss to the division-rival Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Bosa has been dealing with a hip/oblique injury and said he is now dealing with a similar injury on the other side after overcompensating for his previous injury. The Niners defense surely could have used the 27-year-old All-Pro pass-rusher late in Sunday's game against Seattle, and depending on how he recovers this week, they could be without him for a crucial NFC battle with the hosting Green Bay Packers in Week 12. "There's just as good of a chance for him to not play as play," Shanahan said about Bosa playing against Green Bay. It would be a significant downgrade for San Fran's pass rush if Bosa is inactive.Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner
3 days agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) is dealing with some right-shoulder soreness on Monday and is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. Purdy might be included on the team's Week 12 injury report but he should ultimately be fine to play this upcoming Sunday on the road at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers. The 24-year-old was without tight end George Kittle (hamstring) in the Week 11 loss to the division-rival Seattle Seahawks and went 21-for-28 for a season-low 159 yards, one touchdown and his eighth interception of the year. His shoulder injury is something to watch throughout the week, but ultimately it shouldn't affect his Week 12 status. Purdy could certainly bounce back as more of a QB1 in fantasy against Green Bay, especially if Kittle is back in action.Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner
3 days agoSan Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (hamstring) is expected to return to practice on Wednesday after sitting out the Week 11 divisional loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday due to hamstring irritation that he picked up in the Week 10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Kittle was "close" to playing on Sunday. Barring a setback once the 31-year-old returns to practice this week, he should be able to return in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Sunday. With elevated playing time against Seattle with Kittle out, Eric Saubert failed to take advantage and caught one pass for seven yards. Despite missing two games this year due to injury, Kittle is the TE2 in half-PPR scoring with 43 receptions, 560 yards and a league-leading seven touchdowns. If he's active in Week 12, he's a must-start in fantasy.Source: ESPN.com - Nick Wagoner
3 days agoOrlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. (foot) will remain sidelined for Monday's game against the Phoenix Suns, extending his absence to eight straight contests due to left plantar fasciitis. The 25-year-old, who has been a consistent contributor when on the floor, is averaging 8.3 points and 8.8 rebounds this season. In his stead, Moritz Wagner, Jonathan Isaac, and Goga Bitadze are likely to see expanded roles in the frontcourt. Carter's next opportunity to return to action will be Wednesday when the Magic face the Los Angeles Clippers.Source: NBA Injury Report
3 days agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington joined the rest of the offense on Sunday in producing very little in the 52-6 blowout loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 11. Washington was targeted three times by quarterback Mac Jones and hauled in one of the three targets for a pickup of 10 yards. The 22-year-old should have a much bigger role moving forward now that Gabe Davis (knee) has been ruled out for the season, but Washington and the rest of the Jags' offense is desperately hoping that regular QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) will be ready to return following the team's Week 12 bye. Washington, a sixth-rounder in 2023, has just one catch for 10 yards in the two games that Mac Jones has started. He has only 10 catches (18 targets) for 118 yards and no TDs in 11 games this year and will primarily be a bench stash in deep leagues the rest of the way.Source: ESPN.com
3 days agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram hauled in five of his seven targets for only 28 receiving yards in the 52-6 loss to the Detroit Lions on the road on Sunday in Week 11. Outside of rookie receiver Brian Thomas Jr., who had five catches for a team-high 82 yards, nobody in Jacksonville's offense was able to produce much on a day where the team was held out of the end zone and quarterback Mac Jones threw for under 150 yards. The good news for the 30-year-old veteran tight end is that his seven targets and five receptions were both tied for the team lead with Thomas. He's also had three straight games with at least five catches, although it hasn't come with much yardage. Hopefully for Engram's sake, he'll be taking passes from quarterback Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) again after the Week 12 bye, which would vault him into firm TE1 range in fantasy.Source: ESPN.com
3 days agoJacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. was the team's lead back in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions on Sunday with Tank Bigsby (ankle) inactive, but he wasn't able to do much with his 15 touches in the 52-6 blowout loss. Etienne finished with a team-high 12 rushing attempts for only 27 yards (2.3 yards per carry) and caught all three of his targets for just six receiving yards. On the road against a stout Lions defensive front with quarterback Mac Jones filling in for Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) for the second straight week amounted to the Jaguars' offense getting absolutely dominated all day. It was surely a disappointment for Etienne's fantasy managers that were hoping for more with Bigsby out. The 25-year-old has under 50 rushing yards in five straight games now and could be splitting carries again with Bigsby coming out of the team's Week 12 bye.Source: ESPN.com
3 days agoAs expected, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb (back, shoulder) is officially active on Monday night to face off against the Houston Texans. Lamb came into Week 11 preparation nursing a shoulder injury but then popped up on the injury report on Saturday due to a back injury and was listed as questionable. The Cowboys never seemed terribly worried that Lamb would miss Monday's game, though. Although Lamb's fantasy ceiling and floor have dropped considerably with quarterback Dak Prescott (hamstring) out for the year, he still belongs in most starting fantasy lineups on a weekly basis. The 25-year-old caught six of his 10 targets for 21 yards in last week's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and will look to do better on Monday with quarterback Cooper Rush throwing him the ball. Dallas will likely have to pass frequently to keep up with Houston.Source: Fort Worth Star-Telegram - Nick Harris
3 days agoAccording to Justin Turpin of WEEI.com, Boston Celtics point guard Payton Pritchard (thumb) is questionable for Tuesday's matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Pritchard has averaged 17.3 points, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 28.8 minutes per game during his last 12 outings. He's yet to miss a contest this regular season, but if the 26-year-old cannot go, Sam Hauser will likely see an uptick in minutes on the court.Source: Justin Turpin
