Jared Spurgeon Available Against Ducks
2 days agoMinnesota Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon (neck) will be in the lineup on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks. The Wild captain was unable to play on Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks after taking a puck to the throat the previous night in a matchup versus the Calgary Flames. However, he has been cleared for Tuesday's potential playoff clincher. Spurgeon brings a wealth of experience and quality at both ends to the lineup. He has recorded 32 points (seven goals, 25 assists), 106 shots, 116 blocks, and 53 hits in 65 contests this season.Source: NHL.com
Logan Henderson Promoted To Major Leagues
2 days agoThe Milwaukee Brewers promoted pitching prospect Logan Henderson to the major league roster. In a corresponding move, the Brewers optioned right-handed pitcher Elvin Rodriguez to Triple-A Nashville. After allowing five runs in his season debut, Henderson has flipped the script at Triple-A and is being rewarded with a promotion. Over his last two outings, Henderson has tossed back-to-back five-inning shutouts. During this stretch, he has allowed just three hits and seven walks. He has struck out 16 batters. Due to the numerous injuries in the Milwaukee rotation, fantasy managers should expect the right-hander to see opportunities in the rotation. Currently, Quinn Priester and Jose Quintana are set to start the final two games of their series against the Tigers, which could set Henderson up for his big league debut over the weekend, against the Athletics.Source: Milwaukee Brewers
Josh Giddey Expected To Play On Wednesday Night
2 days agoChicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey (forearm) is probable heading into Wednesday's Play-In matchup against the visiting Heat. He missed the final two games of the regular season. But head coach Billy Donovan remains optimistic Giddey will be out there versus Miami. If that's the case, Julian Phillips, coming off a nine-point, seven-assist, two-steal performance, will presumably head back to the bench.Source: NBA Injury Report
Ilya Samsonov Returns To Vegas Crease Tuesday
2 days agoVegas Golden Knights goaltender Ilya Samsonov (upper body) will return to work on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames. The Russian netminder hasn't seen any action since March 23, missing eight games due to an upper-body injury. Samsonov boasts a solid 16-9-3 record as Vegas' backup, having allowed 2.79 goals with a .892 save percentage and two shutouts. He faces the NHL's third-lowest scoring side on Tuesday. However, Vegas is without several key players and squares off against a team that's battling for a playoff spot, so Tuesday's contest will likely not be a cakewalk for Samsonov.Source: Pat Steinberg
Cubs Option Matt Shaw To Triple-A
2 days agoThe Chicago Cubs have optioned third baseman Matt Shaw to Triple-A Iowa. Shaw was able to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster out of spring training but will be sent back to the minor leagues to continue his development. Through his first 18 games in the majors, the Maryland product posted a modest .172/.294/.241 slash line with two doubles and one home run. Shaw drew walks at a strong 14.7 percent rate but generated a weak .272 xwOBA. In addition, Shaw posted a hefty 26.5 percent strikeout rate with a 30.8 percent whiff rate. Last summer, the former 13th overall from the 2023 MLB Draft performed very well in Double-A and Triple-A. Across 121 games split between the upper levels, Shaw posted a stellar .284/.379/.488 slash line with 21 long balls. Fantasy managers should expect Justin Turner and Jon Berti to split time at the hot corner going forward.Source: Keith Law
Noah Hanifin To Be Rested Against Flames
2 days agoVegas Golden Knights defenseman Noah Hanifin (rest) will not be in the lineup on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames. Having played in all 80 games so far, Hanifin will take Tuesday night off to rest. The 28-year-old has been rock-solid throughout the campaign with Vegas, registering 39 points (10 goals, 29 assists), 145 shots, 106 blocks, and a plus-eight rating. With Alex Pietrangelo (undisclosed) remaining sidelined, Zach Whitecloud and Nicolas Hague (illness) will see increased usage in the Vegas defense. The latter is expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday after missing three games due to an illness.Source: Pat Steinberg
Moses Moody Added To The Injury Report
2 days agoGolden State Warriors forward Moses Moody (back) is now questionable for Tuesday's Play-In game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The 24-year-old has started 34 games for the Warriors this season. Unfortunately, he popped up on the Injury report because of back spasms, putting his availability in jeopardy. If Moody can't suit up, Buddy Hield, averaging 12.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 22 starts during the 2024-25 campaign, will likely slide into the starting lineup.Source: NBA Injury Report
Mark Stone Sits Out Tuesday's Action
2 days agoVegas Golden Knights right wing Mark Stone (rest) will exit the lineup for Tuesday's tilt against the Calgary Flames. The Golden Knights will rest their captain for the contest, with Stone joining Jack Eichel (upper body) on the sidelines. Stone has struggled recently, posting only one point in seven games, and will likely welcome the opportunity to take some time off to reset. He has recorded 67 points (19 goals, 48 assists) in 66 games for the entire campaign. With two-thirds of Vegas' top line missing, players like Tomas Hertl, William Karlsson, and Brandon Saad will hold extra fantasy value.Source: Pat Steinberg
Oliver Ekman-Larsson Expected To Return For Postseason
2 days agoToronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson (upper body) will remain on the shelf for Tuesday's encounter with the Buffalo Sabres but is expected to be ready to rejoin the lineup when the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs begin. Ekman-Larsson, a Stanley Cup winner from last year with the Florida Panthers, made 77 appearances with the Maple Leafs before suffering a late-season injury blow. He has recorded 29 points (four goals, 25 assists), 118 shots, 83 blocks, and 108 hits with a plus-14 rating. Jake McCabe (upper body) is also currently absent from the Maple Leafs defense, providing Dakota Mermis and Philippe Myers with playing opportunities.Source: ESPN
Owen Power To Miss Rest Of Regular Season
2 days agoBuffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power (lower body) will be out of action for the remainder of the regular season. He suffered a lower-body injury on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning and is sitting out a second consecutive game on Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. "Don't really have a time frame yet, but it looks to be [serious]," Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff said about Power's injury. "We'll have more information, a further follow-up today and the next couple days." Power posted a career-high 40 points (seven goals, 33 assists) in 79 games with 139 shots and 109 blocks. In Power's absence, Jacob Bryson has rejoined the lineup.Source: NHL.com
Viktor Hovland Remains Volatile Ahead Of RBC Heritage
2 days agoAfter his win in Florida a few weeks ago, Viktor Hovland found himself in the mix of things at The Masters going into the weekend before back-to-back 73s thwarted his chances at a green jacket. The approach play remains high, as his week at Augusta was the fourth consecutive event averaging more than a stroke gained per round with his irons. His deficiencies around the greens and severe streakiness with the putter make him a touch choice every week, and while his work from tee to green may do enough to make the cut this week, it likely won't do enough to make his $10,700 price tag worth it.Source: Data Golf
Ronald Acuna Jr. Cleared To Begin Ramping Up Baseball Activity
2 days agoThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Justin Toscano reports that Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. (knee) has been cleared to ramp up his baseball activity and begin progressing toward a minor-league rehab assignment. There remains no firm timetable for when Acuna might make his 2025 debut, but he appears to be on a scheduled to return at some point in the next month, as previously thought. The 27-year-old is recovering from surgery to fix a torn ACL in his left knee last year and won't be available to fantasy managers until May. Acuna has been hitting for a while now, but he will now ramp up his running program Until he's able to return, Jarred Kelenic will continue to see the majority of starts in right field for Atlanta. Acuna, a former MVP, has the ability to be a fantasy difference-maker when he's healthy, so he should be rostered in all fantasy leagues.Source: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution - Justin Toscano
Stefan Noesen Returns To Action Tuesday
2 days agoNew Jersey Devils winger Stefan Noesen (rest) will rejoin the action on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins. The team will have him back in the lineup after Noesen was rested for Sunday's tilt against the New York Islanders. Noesen's return will bump Timo Meier down from the first line. 2024-25 has been a big campaign for Noesen, with a career-high 40 points (21 goals, 19 assists) and 150 hits in 77 appearances. The 32-year-old has scored in both of his two appearances against the Bruins this season.Source: NHL.com
Edouard Julien In Leadoff Spot Again On Tuesday
2 days agoMinnesota Twins second baseman Edouard Julien is starting at second base and batting leadoff for the Twins in Game 2 of their series against the visiting New York Mets at Target Field on Tuesday. Julien will be facing right-hander Tylor Megill. The Twins are trying to scrape together offense after a slow start to the season, and this marks the third straight game that Julien will operate at the top of the batting order. The 25-year-old Canadian has become a fixture in Minnesota's starting lineup as well. The third-year infielder has gone 11-for-43 (.256) in the early going in 2025 with a home run, three doubles, four RBI, two runs scored, two walks and 12 strikeouts in 15 games played. Julien's move to the leadoff spot is good news for his fantasy value if he can stick there, but he still represents somewhat of a lackluster DFS play against Megill on Tuesday.Source: MLB.com
Russell Henley To Bounce Back At RBC Heritage
2 days agoIt was a frustrating week at Augusta National for Russell Henley, as he was a dark horse pick for many people before losing nearly three strokes on and around the greens during the first two rounds. The damage was done on Thursday's opening round, 79, as he backed it up with a -4 under, 68 on Friday. The former Georgia Bulldog still performed well off the tee and on approach, which has been a mainstay all season. Harbour Town seems like a perfect course fit for someone of Henley's skillset, and he's found some success here in recent years. Given that a fall-off in putting is uncharacteristic for him and the ball striking remains solid, there should be little worry about putting him in lineups again this week.Source: Data Golf
Claude Giroux Won't Play On Tuesday
2 days agoOttawa Senators forward Claude Giroux (rest) will not be in action on Tuesday against the Chicago Blackhawks. The veteran star has been ever-present for the Senators this season, appearing in all 80 games, but he will sit out Tuesday's contest for rest purposes. While Giroux's best days may be behind him, he has still put together a 50-point campaign, registering 15 goals and 35 assists. David Perron (rest) and Ridly Greig (rest) are slated to return on Tuesday and could both take on top-six roles. This would enhance their fantasy value in a favorable matchup against the NHL's second-worst defense.Source: Claire Hanna
Colton Cowser Targeting Late-May, Early-June Return
2 days agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser (thumb) continues to improve from a fractured left thumb and is targeting a late-May, early-June return, according to general manager Mike Elias. Cowser initially suffered his broken thumb at the end of March and was given a six- to eight-week timetable. He went 2-for-16 with a home run and an RBI in his first four games this year before getting injured, but Cowser deserves to be held in most fantasy formats due to his potential for a breakout when healthy. The 25-year-old slashed .242/.321/.447 with 24 home runs, 69 RBI, nine stolen bases and 77 runs scored in 153 games in 2024 in his first full season in the majors. Until Cowser is able to return, Heston Kjerstad should continue to see regular at-bats as the team's primary left fielder. Kjerstad has so far been cold, batting .222 (8-for-36) with a homer, two doubles and six RBI in 13 games played.Source: MLB.com - Jake Rill
Jake Sanderson Resting Against Blackhawks
2 days agoOttawa Senators defenseman Jake Sanderson (rest) will skip Tuesday's contest against the Chicago Blackhawks. Ottawa will give one of its key players some rest before the postseason. Sanderson has enjoyed a hugely successful campaign in 2024-25, notching a career-high 55 points (11 goals, 44 assists) in 79 games while blocking a team-high 163 shots. Thomas Chabot will carry additional fantasy value on Tuesday as Sanderson's replacement on the first power-play unit. He has recently boosted his productivity, totaling nine points (two goals, seven assists) during a five-game scoring streak. Nick Jensen (rest) will also exit the lineup on Tuesday, which will increase the workload of the remaining defensemen.Source: Claire Hanna
Jackson Holliday Out Versus Southpaw
2 days agoBaltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday is getting a breather against a left-handed pitcher on Tuesday versus the visiting Cleveland Guardians at Camden Yards. Jorge Mateo will draw into the starting lineup at the keystone and will bat ninth against Guardians left-hander Logan Allen. The Orioles have protected Holliday from left-handed pitching this year as he continues to develop at the major-league level. The 21-year-old former top prospect has gotten off to a slow start offensively in his first full season in the big leagues, going 10-for-47 (.213) with a homer, double, triple, four RBI, one steal, four runs scored, one walk and 12 strikeouts in 13 games played. He will continue to play regularly at second in Baltimore, but the O's could continue to shield him from lefty starters. Mateo offers speed but will have little DFS upside in the nine-hole. He's still searching for his first hit this year.Source: MLB.com
Jason Day Making Eighth Career Start At Harbour Town
2 days agoIt was a disappointing weekend at Augusta for Jason Day, as he shot rounds of 71 and 72 to finish T8 in the year's first major. A factor for much of the tournament, he lost some form from tee to green over the final two rounds while failing to convert a couple of close birdie looks. It was still a successful week for the 37-year-old, who is beginning to leak some oil in the ball-striking side of his game. Over his last four starts, he's lost strokes on approach and off the tee in two. Putting and chipping have undoubtedly been saving his rounds, which may have bigger consequences this week at Harbour Town Golf Links. He's posted decent finishes here in the past, but nothing repetitive or noteworthy. At $10,400, Day is a flashy name that may be better left on the sidelines.Source: Data Golf
Jonah Bride Designated For Assignment
2 days agoThe Miami Marlins announced on Tuesday that they designated infielder Jonah Bride for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for outfielder Jesus Sanchez (oblique), who was activated from the 10-day injured list. If Bride clears waivers, he'll likely return to Triple-A Jacksonville and serve as minor-league infield depth for the Marlins. The 29-year-old had a rough start to the 2025 season in the big leagues, going 4-for-40 (.100) with no homers, two RBI, three runs scored, five walks and 15 strikeouts in 45 plate appearances over 12 games played. The move is good news for both Eric Wagaman and Matt Mervis, who are both in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks. If Bride returns to the Marlins organization, he could eventually be a bench option against right-handed pitching again at some point this year.Source: Miami Marlins
Adam Pelech Available Tuesday
2 days agoNew York Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech (upper body) will play in Tuesday's contest against the Washington Capitals. A bad hit by New Jersey Devils forward Paul Cotter knocked Pelech out of the lineup on Sunday, but he will not have to miss additional time, having cleared concussion protocol. Pelech will take up his usual role on the first defensive pairing alongside Ryan Pulock. The 30-year-old has totaled 21 assists, 107 shots, 86 blocks, and 73 hits in 59 appearances this season.Source: Ethan Sears
Ryan Weathers Throws Bullpen On Tuesday
2 days agoMiami Marlins left-hander Ryan Weathers (forearm) threw a bullpen session on Tuesday at loanDepot Park before the game against the Arizona Diamondbacks and will have a couple more bullpen sessions before going on a minor-league rehab assignment, according to El Extra Base's Daniel Alvarez-Montes. Weathers said over the weekend that he could join Miami's starting rotation in the first week of May, barring any setbacks. The 25-year-old southpaw is recovering from a left flexor strain that he suffered in spring training, but he's getting closer to being able to make his 2025 debut. The former first-round pick by the San Diego Padres in 2018 is worth stashing in most fantasy formats while he rehabs, as he showed signs in 2024 in his first full season with the Fish of a potential breakout this year.Source: ElExtraBase - Daniel Alvarez-Montes
Nikolaj Ehlers Considered Week-To-Week
2 days agoWinnipeg Jets winger Nikolaj Ehlers (foot) is considered week-to-week. The Danish forward aggravated a previous foot injury in Saturday's shootout win against the Chicago Blackhawks. He will sit out a second consecutive game on Wednesday, when Winnipeg concludes its regular season against the Anaheim Ducks, and it's unclear when Ehlers will be ready to help the Jets again. Ehlers notched 63 points (24 goals, 39 assists) in 69 games this season. Nino Niederreiter replaced him on the second line in Sunday's matchup against the Edmonton Oilers, while Gabriel Vilardi (upper body), who has been upgraded to day-to-day, could soon also be an option for the top six.Source: NHL.com
Jesus Sanchez Activated From Injured List And Starting On Tuesday
2 days agoThe Miami Marlins announced on Tuesday that they activated outfielder Jesus Sanchez (oblique) from the 10-day injured list, and he's starting in center field and batting in the two-hole against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Merrill Kelly at loanDepot Park. Sanchez will be making his season debut on Tuesday after straining his left oblique in spring training. Now that he's healthy, the 27-year-old will be a regular starter in Miami's outfield and deserves attention in mixed fantasy leagues if he's still on the waiver wire. Although he has never reached the 20-homer mark in his career, Sanchez makes loud contact and has an intriguing power/speed profile. He'll be an interesting DFS play right away in the No. 2 spot in the batting order as well, and he has a home run and three RBI in only four career at-bats against Kelly.Source: Miami Marlins
Logan Couture Announces Retirement
2 days agoSan Jose Sharks center Logan Couture (groin) announced his retirement on Tuesday. "Unfortunately, due to my injury, I am no longer able to play hockey," Couture said in a statement released by the Sharks. "I'm extremely grateful and proud to have played 16 years in the best league in the world. I want to thank the Sharks organization and all of my teammates over the course of my career. And most especially, thank you to the Sharks and hockey fans around the world for your continued support. I will continue to root for the Sharks as they look to get back to annually competing for the Stanley Cup as we did for so many years." Couture, who has been suffering from osteitis pubis, has not played since Jan. 31, 2024. The Sharks drafted Couture ninth in the 2007 NHL draft, and he spent his entire career with the organization, posting 701 points (323 goals, 378 assists) in 933 regular-season appearances.Source: NHL.com
Ludvig Aberg A Top Player To Possibly Avoid At RBC Heritage
2 days agoAfter a couple of missed cuts, it was good to see Ludvig Aberg get back in the mix at Augusta last week. The young Swede managed to gain strokes everywhere, but nothing necessarily led the charge, and it doesn't give us as much clarification as we'd like, as to where his game truly stands. Approach play and short game get the job done at Harbour Town, and Aberg is not exactly excelling in either metric, ranking 96th in strokes gained on approach (-0.004) and 138th in strokes gained around the green (-0.202) this season. He clearly has the game to compete here, with a T10 last year. However, what he's shown in 2025 makes it a little tougher to pull the trigger at $11,800 on FanDuel.Source: PGA Tour
Alex Call Out Against Pirates
2 days agoWashington Nationals outfielder Alex Call is getting the day off on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. Jacob Young will replace him in center field and will bat ninth against Pirates right-hander Mitch Keller. Although Call has yet to go deep in 2025, it's been an impressive start to the 2025 season for the 30-year-old, as he's gone 11-for-34 (.324) with two doubles, a triple, seven RBI, a stolen base, six runs scored, 10 walks and only two strikeouts in 11 games played for the Nats. Young enters Tuesday's game in Pittsburgh with a .250 average (7-for-28) with no homers, a double, one RBI, one stolen base, six walks and two strikeouts in 13 games played. Batting out of the nine-hole, fantasy managers setting DFS lineups will want to ignore Young in this one. He's gone hitless in just two career at-bats against Keller.Source: MLB.com
George Springer Not Starting On Tuesday
2 days agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (wrist) will miss his second-straight contest on Tuesday evening when the Blue Jays continue a series against the Atlanta Braves. Springer suffered this injury during Sunday's contest against the Baltimore Orioles. Fantasy managers should continue to keep an eye on his status as he works his way back from this injury. As a result, Addison Barger will get the nod in right field, while Alan Roden and Myles Straw cover left and center, respectively. Springer has enjoyed a strong start to the early season, posting a stellar .375/.436/.604 slash line. He has tallied two home runs and swiped two bags. Under the hood, he has generated an elite .408 xwOBA. Fantasy managers should not target the Toronto offense this evening in DFS, facing Atlanta right-hander Spencer Schwellenbach.Source: MLB.com
Wyatt Langford Swinging A Bat On Tuesday
2 days agoTexas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford (oblique) was swinging a bat on Tuesday. According to Shawn McFarland of The Dallas News, Langford feels "pretty much fine." Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status, but it appears Langford will not have a lengthy stint on the 10-day injured list. The Rangers placed the former fourth overall pick on the IL with an oblique strain last Wednesday. Fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status as he increases his workload. Before the injury, the Florida product was flashing elite power upside, holding a .244/.333/.561 line with four home runs across 12 games. While Langford remains sidelined, Kevin Pillar should continue to see opportunities in left field.Source: Shawn McFarland
