2 months agoArizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (quadricep) participated in practice on Wednesday on a limited basis due to a quadricep issue. His inclusion on the Cardinals' first practice report for Week 4 suggests that the team might manage his reps to ensure he's ready for Sunday's game against the Commanders. Fortunately, it is a minor concern, and he will likely play in Week 4. After a slow start to his NFL career, Harrison has found his rhythm over the past two games, totaling nine receptions on 19 targets for 194 yards and three touchdowns. The situation is evolving with the Commanders already in town and practicing at Arizona State following their Monday night game. However, how Harrison is listed on Thursday and Friday' will be crucial for assessing his availability. If the injury is minor, he should be considered a must-start fantasy option against a struggling Commanders' pass defense.Source: Tyler Drake @Tdrake4sports
2 months agoArizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said that tight end Trey McBride (concussion) remains in the league's concussion protocol on Wednesday, which means he won't be practicing with the rest of the team. McBride suffered a concussion in the Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions and is now firmly up in the air to suit up in Week 4 against the Washington Commanders. The 24-year-old will need to clear the league's protocol and also be given the green light by an independent neurologist before Sunday's game, so fantasy managers that have been rolling with McBride as their TE1 need to have a backup plan in place this week. If he cannot gain clearance to play this weekend, Tip Reiman and Elijah Higgins would most likely split tight end duties for the Cardinals, with neither player being a particularly enticing TE streamer in fantasy. UPDATE: McBride did not practice on Wednesday.Source: PHNX Sports - Bo Brack
2 months agoArizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon said that tight end Trey McBride (concussion) has entered the league's concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in the Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions. McBride should be considered questionable to play in the Week 4 matchup against the Washington Commanders. The 24-year-old will have to pass through the NFL's protocols for head injuries throughout the week and must be cleared by an independent neurologist before being allowed to play on Sunday. McBride has yet to score through the first three weeks of the season, but he does have 14 receptions on 21 targets for 122 yards as a surefire TE1 in fantasy lineups. Fantasy managers are obviously going to need to have a backup plan in place in case he's not cleared for Week 4. If McBride sits, Elijah Higgins and Tip Reiman figure to split TE duties in Arizona.Source: AZCardinals.com - Darren Urban
2 months agoDespite allowing touchdowns on the first two possessions, the Arizona Cardinals defense tightened up, surrendering only one more Detroit Lions touchdown for the remainder of the game. The Cardinal's defense recorded two sacks and one interception but allowed 373 yards of total offense in Sunday's 20-13 loss. While it wasn't a strong fantasy performance—finishing with just three points—their second-half effort is something they can build on. The Cardinals kept the Lions scoreless in the second half, and although they struggled against the run, they made key stops in crucial moments. With the Washington Commanders traveling to Arizona for Week 4, the Cardinals' defense could be a potential waiver wire target.Source: ESPN.com
2 months agoArizona Cardinals kicker Matt Prater continued his perfect season, converting all three of his kicks in the Week 3 loss to the Lions. Prater nailed two field goals from 40+ yards (42, 45) and made his only extra point attempt. The 40-year-old is a perfect 6-for-6 in field goal attempts and 8-for-8 in extra-point tries over three games in 2024. Despite the Cardinals' offensive struggles, Prater's consistency has been a bright spot, making him an emerging solid fantasy option. The Cardinals face the Commanders in Week 4. Fantasy managers can use Prater as a streamer in a projected high-scoring affair versus the Commanders on Sunday.Source: ESPN.com
2 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson had his best game of the season in the Week 3 20-13 loss to the Detroit Lions, catching eight of nine targets for 64 yards—both season highs. He showcased excellent route running, frequently beating single coverage and making several impressive grabs along the sideline. With fellow pass catchers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride (concussion) drawing significant defensive attention, Wilson capitalized on his opportunities against single coverage, which bodes well for his future production. If McBride is unavailable in Week 4, Wilson could see an increase in targets and may be a valuable waiver wire pickup with a favorable matchup against the Commanders on Sunday.Source: ESPN.com
2 months agoArizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray fell short of expectations in Week 3 in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Detroit Lions. He recorded 207 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception while rushing for 45 yards on five attempts. The former No. 1 overall pick started strong with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Marvin Harrison Jr. on their opening drive, but that would be their only touchdown of the day as the offense struggled to convert on third downs and sustain drives. Murray had a few uncharacteristic misfires, especially after his strong performances in the first two weeks. However, he has a prime opportunity to bounce back in Week 4 when the Cardinals face the Washington Commanders.Source: ESPN.com
2 months agoArizona Cardinals running back James Conner struggled to get going in Sunday's 20-13 loss to the Detroit Lions. He rushed for just 17 yards on nine attempts while catching his only target for eight yards. The Cardinals' offense faced difficulties on the ground and frequently found themselves behind the chains. The veteran back had a season-low 10 touches, a sharp drop from the back-to-back games where he saw more than double that workload. While the Cardinals' ground game was largely ineffective, the team fell behind early and shifted to a pass-heavy approach, throwing on their final 18 plays. However, with the Cardinals expected to be favored in their next game against the Washington Commanders, Conner should have more opportunities to reestablish his role in the offense, so fantasy managers shouldn't panic just yet.Source: ESPN.com
2 months agoArizona Cardinals rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. continued to impress in Week 3, building on his breakout performance from the previous week by scoring a touchdown in Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. He was the focal point of the Cardinals' game plan, leading the team with 11 targets. Despite drawing significant attention from the defense, the 22-year-old finished the day with five receptions for 64 yards. While Harrison and quarterback Kyler Murray missed a few plays, their chemistry is expected to improve with more time on the field together. Harrison remains a must-start, and fantasy managers should feel confident in him, especially heading into next week's matchup against a vulnerable Washington Commanders secondary.Source: ESPN.com
2 months agoArizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride (head) finished Sunday's loss to the Lions by amassing three catches for 25 yards. He was targeted six times on the day. However, the 24-year-old had another underwhelming performance for fantasy managers. Unfortunately, McBride took a hit in the contest and is being evaluated for a concussion. Of course, this type of injury is a concern for fantasy managers, especially since it could keep him off the field for the Week 4 meeting with the Commanders. If McBride isn't available, Elijah Higgins and Tip Reiman will do their best to fill the void in the lineup.Source: Arizona Cardinals
2 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch (hamstring) is officially active for Week 3 against the Detroit Lions. He had been listed as questionable entering the weekend, but there was a growing sense that he would suit up. Dortch is expected to operate as the Cardinals' No. 3 receiver behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, and he'll also compete for touches with running back James Conner and tight end Trey McBride. Dortch has the potential to be a target hog, especially in the short-yardage passing game. However, he's only on the fantasy radar in deep leagues.Source: Arizona Cardinals
2 months agoArizona Cardinals wide receiver Greg Dortch (hamstring) is expected to be active for Week 3 versus the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Dortch caught six of eight targets back in Week 1 but commanded just two targets on a 35 percent snap share last weekend. He is Arizona's No. 3 wide receiver behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, and he also has to compete with tight end Trey McBride and running back James Conner. Dortch can be left on waivers in most fantasy leagues this week.Source: Adam Schefter

2 months agoArizona Cardinals kicker Matt Prater is off to a strong start in his 18th NFL season, currently ranked as the eighth-best kicker in fantasy football. In Week 3, the Cardinals face the Detroit Lions, making Prater a viable streaming option. Arizona's offense has been efficient, frequently putting themselves in scoring positions. The veteran has capitalized on these opportunities, hitting all four of his field goal attempts and remaining perfect on all seven extra-point attempts. While the Lions' defense poses a greater challenge than the Cardinals' previous opponents, Arizona should still generate scoring opportunities. With no weather concerns and Prater's consistency, he's a low-end starting kicker for managers needing a streamer, rostered in just 4% of leagues.Source: RotoBaller
2 months agoThe Arizona Cardinals defense is coming off an impressive 12-point fantasy performance fueled by five sacks. The Cardinals will look to build off of that performance when they host the Detroit Lions this week. While they've exceeded expectations to start the season, and the Lions offense has somewhat underperformed, this doesn't make the Cardinals a reliable fantasy option in Week 3. Detroit's offense ranks as the fifth-toughest matchup for opposing defenses, and the Lions' strong offensive front could exploit Arizona's weaknesses on the defensive line. With the Cardinals' defense rostered in just 0.7% of leagues, fantasy managers should avoid them and leave them on the waiver wire for Week 3.Source: RotoBaller
