2 months agoJulianna Pena scored a split-decision win over Raquel Pennington in the co-main event of UFC 307. Pena was ending her two-year-long layoff as she looked to reclaim her women's bantamweight title. Pena started out strong as she outstruck Pennington in the first round and then controlled the champ for the second and third round. Yet, Pena began to slow down as she was dropped in the fourth round and was outstruck in the fifth round. When the final bell sounded, many thought Pennington won rounds 1, 4, and 5 but in the end, it was Pena who won a split decision. With the win, Pena is now a two-time UFC champ and should face Kayla Harrison next.Source: UFC

Since losing his belt to Israel Adesanya and moving up to light heavyweight, Pereira has won four fights in a row where he won the light heavyweight title and defended it twice, against Jamahal Hill and more recently, against Jiri Prochazka. 2 months agoRoman Dolidze is scheduled to take on Kevin Holland on the main card of UFC 307 this Saturday. Dolidze is stepping up on short notice to fill a main card spot on the UFC 307 card. In his last bout, Dolidze defeated Anthony Smith at light heavyweight, which was taken on short notice by Smith after Anthony Hernandez withdrew from the fight. Prior to his bout against Smith, Dolidze was on a two-fight losing streak, losing to Nassourdine Imavov and Marvin Vettori. DraftKings sees Dolidze as the underdog with a salary of $7,900. Harrison is an Olympic gold medalist and former PFL women's lightweight champion but had to drop down to 135lbs to fight in the UFC. Harrison enters the bout as a gigantic favorite as DraftKings has her at a salary of $9,800. The American will use her grappling to take Vieira down and look for another stoppage win. Pena enters UFC 307 as the underdog as DraftKings has her at a salary of $7,800. In the UFC, Pena is 7-3 with four wins by stoppage while she's been finished twice by submission. If Pena is going to win, she likely will have to use her wrestling to control the fight and possibly earn a stoppage. In his last bout, Allen defeated Chris Curtis via split decision. Before this fight, Allen was on a tear winning seven fights in a row and was looking to force his way into the top 5. 2 months agoNassourdine Imavov improved to 15-4 with a unanimous decision win over Brendan Allen in the co-main event of UFC Paris on Saturday. It wasn't the most exciting performance, but Imavov got the job done. Before this bout, Imavov was on a two-fight win streak with victories over Jared Cannonier and Roman Dolidze respectively. In 15 minutes of action, Imavov landed 57 significant strikes, compared to Allen who landed 30. All three judges declared Imavov the winner in rounds two and three for a unanimous 29-28 score. 2 months agoJoanderson Brito suffered a controversial split-decision loss to William Gomis on the main card of UFC Paris. The majority of fans and media scored the fight 29-28 for Brito. It appeared that Brito was in control of the fight and would edge out a decision, but the judges saw it differently as they scored the fight 29-28, 28-29, and 29-28 in favor of Gomis. Gomis appeared to be on the backfoot except for his occasional counterattacks, while Brito came out aggressively, dominating the early rounds. After three rounds of action, the judges scored the fight 29-28, 28-29, and 29-28 in favor of Gomis, who improved his record to 13-3. Gomis is now on a 12-fight win streak.
