Padres Starter Dinelson Lamet to Start Year on DL
7 years agoThe San Diego Padres have officially announced that starting pitcher Dinelson Lamet (elbow) will start the year on the disabled list. Lamet was slated to be the No. 2 starter in the Padres rotation before he left in the second inning of a start against the Mariners earlier this week. The Padres have said the 25-year-old has a right elbow strain, but there is no official word yet of any structural damage. San Diego Union-Tribune beat writer Kevin Acee reported that the team hopes Lamet can make a return to the mound by May. Lamet was likely going to be the only Padres starter worth owning this season, and this injury should be cause for some concern for owners going forward.
