Padres Reunite With Tucupita Marcano
1 year agoThe San Diego Padres claimed infielder/outfielder Tucupita Marcano (knee) off waivers on Thursday from the Pittsburgh Pirates. In a corresponding move, the Padres outrighted catcher Chandler Seagle and right-hander Drew Carlton off their 40-man roster. Marcano will return to the Padres organization after spending his rookie MLB campaign with the Friars in 2021. He will not be ready for the start of the 2024 season after undergoing surgery to fix a torn ACL in his right knee, though. The 24-year-old hit .233/.276/.356 with a career-high three home runs, 12 doubles, two triples, 18 RBI, five stolen bases and 16 runs scored in his 75 games with Pittsburgh in 2023. Marcano is off the fantasy radar and is merely organizational position-player depth for SD going into next year.
