Padres Non-Roster Invitee Adam Cimber Makes Opening Day Roster
7 years agoAfter allowing no runs over nine innings this spring, San Diego Padres non-roster invitee Adam Cimber will be a member of the Padres bullpen on Opening Day. Cimber's 0.55 WHIP was the lowest by a Padres pitcher this spring, and his nine strikeouts tied him for 11th most on the team. After five years in the minors, this is the dream for Cimber, but for now he is unlikely to have any fantasy relevance in 2018. It's possible that he could pitch his way into a setup role this year, but the closer's role is a long shot and there are several pitchers currently ahead of him in the pecking order.
