2 years agoAccording to a tweet from MLB Network's Jon Morosi on Saturday, Jose Abreu has reportedly spoken with the San Diego Padres this month. Morosi tweeted: "Sources: Free agent Jose Abreu has spoken with #Padres officials this month. Abreu is a top priority for the Padres, who are seeing middle-of-the-order power and have an opening at the DH/1B spot. @MLBNetwork @MLB." The 35-year-old has previously spent his entire career with the Chicago White Sox. He enjoyed a strong season at the plate for the American League Central club in 2022, hitting .304 with a .378 on-base percentage and 15 home runs in 679 plate appearances.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
