Padres Discussing Trade For Jurickson Profar
6 years agoThe San Diego Padres are discussing a potential trade for Texas Rangers infielder Jurickson Profar, but no deal is imminent, according to sources. The Friars are in the market for an infielder who can cover at the 6 until their top prospect, Fernando Tatis Jr., is ready for the big leagues next year. Profar can play second, shortstop or third base, so he could then move to the hot corner whenever Tatis is deemed ready. With regular playing time in 2018, the former top prospect hit .254/.335/.458 with 20 home runs, 77 RBI, 82 runs and 10 stolen bases. The switch-hitter is extremely versatile and his fantasy stock is on the rise as long as he continues to play daily.
