Padres Closer Brad Hand Roughed Up for Second Loss of Year
7 years agoIt was another rough outing for Padres closer Brad Hand, who was tagged with his second loss of the season Thursday afternoon. After leading off the inning with back-to-back walks, a fielding error loaded the bases and Hand proceeded to allow three runs off a bases-loaded walk and a two-run single. He was able to record two strikeouts, but Jordan Lyles came in from the bullpen to finish the inning. Hand has now allowed eight runs — two earned — over four innings with five hits and three walks. Fantasy owners should keep a close watch on the situation in San Diego, and it may be time to start thinking about picking up Craig Stammen or Kirby Yates as potential handcuffs for Hand.
