Packers Work Out Kerryon Johnson
3 years agoThe Green Bay Packers worked out former Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson on Tuesday. The Packers are in need of some running back depth with Aaron Jones (knee) expected to miss one to two weeks after suffering an MCL sprain in the Week 10 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Johnson was active for one game with the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3 but played just nine special teams snaps before being cut in early October. If he is signed by Green Bay, he's unlikely to have much of a role besides strictly serving as emergency depth at the position until Jones returns. AJ Dillon will take over lead-back duties for however long Jones is out, and he's a must-add off waivers this week if he's available. Patrick Taylor Jr. is the only other RB on the current active roster.

Kerryon Johnson Works Out For Jaguars
3 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars worked out running back Kerryon Johnson on Wednesday. Veteran back Carlos Hyde (concussion) sat out of Wednesday's practice. That means, Dare Ogunbowale is the backup right now for Week 15. On paper, it makes sense for the Jaguars to attempt to find more depth behind James Robinson. However, Johnson hasn't played all season and it's uncertain what he'd bring to the table. He had some success with the Detroit Lions, but hasn't played in 2021. It's unlikely Johnson would be worth rostering in any formats, assuming he does get signed by the team.

Vikings Work Out Kerryon Johnson Tuesday
3 years agoThe Minnesota Vikings had free-agent running back Kerryon Johnson in for a workout on Tuesday. Starting running back Dalvin Cook (shoulder) suffered a dislocated left shoulder and a torn labrum in the Week 12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers and is expected to miss at least the next two games, leaving the Vikings looking for more RB depth behind Alexander Mattison and rookie Kene Nwangwu. With Cook sidelined for the next couple of weeks, expect Mattison to see most of the backfield work with Nwangwu serving as the change-of-pace back. With great matchups upcoming against the winless Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers, Mattison needs to be picked up in all leagues (if he's available). He'll have RB1 upside in Week 13 against the Lions.

Washington Works Out Kerryon Johnson, D'Onta Foreman
3 years agoThe Washington Football Team worked out free-agent running backs Kerryon Johnson and D'Onta Foreman on Tuesday. It remains to be seen if Washington will sign one of them, but this could mean that primary running back Antonio Gibson's (shin) injury is more serious than we think. Gibson has been playing through a hairline fracture in his shin for weeks now, but his production has dropped considerably in the last three weeks, gaining 3.52 yards per carry on his 44 rushing attempts in that span. Backup J.D. McKissic played 63.9% of the offensive snaps last week, too, compared to just 41.7% for Gibson. Keep an eye on Gibson's practice status this week, but if this trend continues, Gibson may need to miss some time to get back to full health. McKissic is becoming more interesting.
