Packers To Visit With Matthew Golden
Matthew Golden for a top-30 visit soon, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Silverstein. The 5-foot-11, 191-pounder showed blazing speed (4.29-second 40-yard dash at the NFL combine) and is in contention to be the first wideout taken in this year's NFL draft at the end of the month. The 21-year-old pass-catcher also had a formal interview with the Packers at the combine. Golden had 58 catches for 987 yards and nine touchdowns last year at Texas and could be an immediate deep threat in Green Bay in his rookie year with Christian Watson (knee) potentially missing half the year. Although there's no guarantee the Packers will take a receiver in the first round, it's clear they will address the position in the draft, as they are also meeting with Texas WR Isaiah Bond.

Matthew Golden Selected No. 23 Overall By Green Bay
Matthew Golden at No. 23 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. In a wild turn of events, the Pack selected their first first-round wideout since 2002. Golden didn't post gaudy numbers during his collegiate years. Still, he boasts blazing speed set to torment any NFL defense -- famously out-running former Texas teammate Isaiah Bond at the combine with a blistering 4.29 40-yard dash. He'll enter a loaded WR corps in Green Bay, joining incumbent starters Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and solid rotational piece Dontayvion Wicks. Golden's avenue to playing time appears murky at this time, considering most of his playing time came from the slot, where Reed would typically occupy. However, he possesses game-altering speed that will make it difficult to keep him off the field.

Matthew Golden To Visit With Cowboys On Thursday
Matthew Golden will visit with the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday after meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Tuesday, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. Golden ran a 4.29-second 40-yard dash and has been touted as a natural leader, a consistent worker and a big-game performer. "I think Golden's one of those guys who didn't fully realize how good he could be until it started clicking. Once he tasted success, he just kept working," one college scouting director said. The 21-year-old will be a strong downfield target at the next level and could complement CeeDee Lamb quite well with the Cowboys in his rookie season. In his lone season with the Longhorns in 2024, Golden had 58 catches for 987 yards and nine touchdowns, and he's in contention to be the first wideout taken in the NFL draft later this month. The Cowboys hold the No. 12 overall pick in Round 1.

Buccaneers Visiting With Matthew Golden
Matthew Golden on Tuesday, according to FOX Sports' Greg Auman. The Buccaneers already have one of the best one-two punches at the receiver position in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but Evans will be 32 this August, and Godwin missed significant time in 2024 with an ankle injury. Golden recorded 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in his final season with the Longhorns as an elite downfield threat, and there's a chance he's the first pass-catcher off the board in the first round of this year's NFL draft. If the 21-year-old wideout were to land in Tampa, he'd probably line up as the team's No. 3 receiver, although it wouldn't be the best landing spot for his fantasy value in Year 1. The Buccaneers are set to pick at No. 19 overall in the first round later this month.

Matthew Golden Making Pre-Draft Visit To Steelers
Matthew Golden is taking a pre-draft visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, according to Penn Live's Nick Farabaugh. The Steelers acquired wideout DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks this offseason, but it doesn't mean that they won't look to add to the position through the draft to provide depth in 2025 behind Metcalf, George Pickens and Calvin Austin III. The 21-year-old Golden is widely expected to come off the board in this year's NFL draft in the first round after producing 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in his final season with the Longhorns. He also impressed with his speed at the combine in late February by running a 4.29-second 40-yard dash. If makes sense for the Pittsburgh to look at receiver in the upcoming draft with the future of Pickens uncertain beyond the 2025 season.
